  1. I think the ship remains in the same orientation to the background, so it appears to rotate relative to the planet(?) But I\'m not sure.
  2. It\'s absolutely worth the $15. Even if it was dropped by the devs and never updated, it would still be my favorite game.
  3. There is a large flat looking circular area in the middle of the mountains. Also, the purple markers point to it.
  4. Those space stations are a pain to get into orbit if they are big enough. Nice work
  5. Happy Birthday KSP! Been here since .13
  6. After reading a few thread where people say different things about what the Kerbals need to survive, I wanted to see what everyone actually wants for the Kerbals. Should they be plants or animals? Plants require water, nutrients/food, a visible light source, temperature, CO2 and oxygen. Animals require water, oxygen, food, and temperature.
  7. As an American, I can say that if a force is in pounds, such as 'that hit with 500 pounds of force' then I can tell what that force is. I have no idea how much force a newton is when it comes to actual intuition.
  8. Other than the L points I don\'t think that n-body has any advantages over what we have now, and it is more complicated.
  9. I don\'t think that Maltesh\'s method is possible for an apoapsis of 2868.4km.
  10. There have actually been a lot of threads about whether or not there should be different stars to go to. And I say no, only one star is needed. The amount of things that can be done in just a single solar system is far more than most dedicated players could complete. And the game slips further from a simulator with every sci-fi element added.

    Uh oh

Put on lots of sunscreen. It helps the burn go away
  12. A mod can do whatever it wants. If a modder wants to make this then they can. I don\'t think KSP needs this because it is a game about launching rockets. And if it would be destroyed by a bolt, then they should not build it because people don\'t put expensive things into space only for them to be destroyed.
  13. After getting the picture there isn\'t much point of leaving them there. And it\'s easy enough to put more back if you want another picture.
  14. But it is possible with technology we have today. It\'s not like the technology we have is physically incapable of making such a trip, and the only hope is new discovery. It\'s just a matter of intelligent planning and resources being properly allocated. Have you seen the people on these forums? I can almost guarentee you that someone here is capable of this.
  15. What I think is most interesting is how whenever something is needed for a space flight project, the research used to put it in the space craft is then used to bring it to the consumer market. Without spaceflight, we wouldnt have many of the materials we have today. And cell phone cameras are a direct result of the experience from the Hubble.
  16. If it\'s your first time, and you see some guy who has all the gear and looks into it, get on his team. I was against this type of player my first time, and I went home with welts all over my back from his sneak attacks.
  17. Burn out to meet Minmus, then burn either normal or anti normal to change the plane. This means if you were in a 90 degree orbit, burn at 0 degrees or 180 degrees. You want to do this around halfway there if you are going straight for Minmus.
  18. Before new planets we need the click to warp feature or at least higher warp. I have never even made a full orbit around Kerbol because of how long it takes. I believe that some of the better players here would be able to make the trip using just patched conics, but flight planning would be helpful for sure.
  19. The order in which the day, month, and year are arranged in not metric or imperial. And you can order them however you want in the US. For most academic things we go day month then year.
  20. The big dark Marias are usually flat if you avoid the giant hills that can be seen from orbit.
  21. Same way you would go to the Mun, with a little refinement. When you see it rise, burn prograde until your orbit touches the orbit of Minmus. About halfway there, turn either normal or anti-normal and burn until the plane matches. Then burn either prograde or retrograde until patched conics says you meet.
  22. Listening to the Chinese countdown sounds cool because I can infer what they are saying even though I don\'t know Chinese!
  23. It has excellent control and a sharp turn radius. Seems like a great way to fly.
