  1. I've played KSP for a while, but I'm tired of sending ships, colonies or the like to other planets. That's why I want to add new fun, game-breaking possibilities to KSP, such as advanced kraken summoning or the like. That's why I made this topic; you're free to add your own ideas if you want. Of course you're not allowed to submit copyrighted content. ANYWAY, HERE'S MY IDEAS TO HAVE FUN IN KSP (AND DO SCIENCE!) 1} File edition Have fun with Kopernicus! Make Vall orbiting Laythe, and Laythe orbiting Vall, or put Eeloo in orbit of an inexistant body, like Eatar or Rituadel. Modify the save files (it's better to use a special save and not persistent.sfs) so: You can put heavy parts in a kebal's inventory, or tweak a docking port or a KAL-1000, thus making it gets more powerful. You can add "ScenarioUpgradeable" (I can't remind the name) to a Sandbox or Science save, giving you a 2nd level KSC. And more! Corrupt craft files with Tweakscale and part positions, so launching your ship will lead to that great bug: Or you can just tweak a docking port or a KAL-1000 so it gets more powerful. Modify some part's config file, or texture, to make the game more interesting; so I'll try to find potatoroid.cfg and kerbal.cfg, and add the parts to the VAB / SPH part list so I can build with Kerbals and Asteroids! {EDIT}: For the kerbal the name is kerbalEVA.cfg, I tried to tweak it but it didn't work, I'll have to try something else. For the asteroids/comets it works but in the VAB you have just cubes and when you launch it with nothing else you'll get a dancing camera. Teleporting it anywhere with Alt+F12 will lead to an immobile, floating rock suspended mid-air annd "about to crash" if not in a stable orbit. 2} Something else? Note: Nazalassa declines all responsability for ships being destroyed or attaining FTL speeds or Rapid Unplanned Desassembly, or the like.
  2. I'm trying to make a monorail in "stock" KSP (without monorail or trains or railways mods) on Minmus using the Ground Anchor. Results planned in one year or so. Also, I won't forget KSP1 for KSP2, as KSP1 is and will remain my favourite video game after HyperRogue.
  3. It seems like Jeb likes stomach clipping, because when I go 15+ G he's always smiling. Bill, however, is more likely to do part clipping, because all my crafts where Bill is have these, and not the others. What about Bob and Valentina?
  4. If no kerbal has eight lives, and one kerbal has one live more than no kerbal, would a kerbal have 9 lives?
  5. Well, I use (almost everytime) two "Dawn", or even better, a "Weir" from Phoenix Industries Mod, coupled with a KAL-1000, a kOS processor, a command pod, a Xenon tank and some legs. I know it isn't very legit, but it works and it's not even a mod (I mean, for the effect, not the "Weir"). That's a stock feature of KSP. Well, I use the robotic Hinges and Pistons (from stock KSP) and the straight rails (from JxFab Utility System) to maximize the room in my spaceplanes, I do something like this: I use robotics to move the upper Mk2 parts in the direction of the arrow. Then I have access to plenty of hidden stuff, on the blue sides. Also, the huge wheels are quite useful when you need to move enormous ships or spaceplanes, like the ones in the OPT spaceplane mod. The aero parts allow you to build boxes and big structures, and moar wings, when the big jets are for Laythe or Kerbin Airlines, e.g. for a stratolauncher which uses jets to reach 15 km. The place-anywhere RCS port can be used to provide an impulse, like when you go to Gilly without puffs nor LF or OX. The material bays are quite useful for middle-game science storage, before you get the fabled Mk1 + Mk2 + Robotics I mentioned. The terrier/poddle/dawn are nice in early- and middle-game, and when you need small engines for your base or interplanetary travel with high TwR. And for the stayputnik and the LES, well… You can try to go to Minmus with that, but dont bet on it .
  6. Sadly… So you can't strut kerbals together. But you said undocking breaks the struts — what about the Advanced Garbage Unit? I'll try it with all the possible ways to dock or attach two vessels!
  7. Or you could just "dock" by getting your vessel very close to the station, then going in EVA and putting a strut connector between the ship and the station. This could work, or not. I'll try it next time I'll play KSP. EVA construction mode has a lot of potential!
