KSP2 Release Notes

I remember Nate praising my analysis of KSP 2 trailers back in the day on my older account. Nate had soul into this game, I think that's what made this outcome tragic. He wasn't perfect, but I can't deny from what we know that he did put his fullest into the game. I can't think anything else other than empathy, I can't imagine having a dream job for it turn out as a nightmare and being the scapegoat for many by being the face of the game. I'm more so grateful now that I'm much older versus when I played KSP because I feel I understand how soul crushing this really has got to be. I hope anyone who's still mad at Nate can find forgiveness at somepoint. Or at least understand the larger perspective that one single person could never be the reason for a game's success or failure. Maybe a lesson that could be taken out of this is that it takes a village to make something great. And it's important to have the right resources and right management that compliments and acknowledges the pros and cons of each member. Which at the end of the day, KSP 2 never had under Take Two it seems. Apologies for the broken English, I'm exhausted halfway through finals so I'm losing my ability to make well versed sentences

An update of sorts from your forum moderation team.
Madrocketman replied to Vanamonde's topic in Announcements
Whatever happens super grateful for the moderation team volunteering to keep this site a safe place. It will be a shame if it goes. You each have been fantastic! -
I think it would've been better to release everything that they did get built. It would be a mess. But the Early Access that came out in February 2023 was also a mess. Hindsight is 2020, but if they at least had more content than the original release. I think the community would've been more forgiving. At least the Colonies and Science should've been released at whatever stage they were at in February 2023. Great video, it's a shame that the video had to be made in the first place but it's probably the most refreshing video I have watched about KSP 2 in years. I hope I one day have the same excitement to play KSP again but this whole KSP 2 Early Access fiasco has kinda killed my desire to play any KSP.

While I was still doing KSP YouTube content I had quite the paparazzi lifestyle on following updates, especially on the former account that got deleted back in 2021. I watched it get announced at the beginning of high school and got to test early access when it came out near graduation. So here's what I would have to say on the matter. The public environment around development seemed to sour when the performance requirements were released and early access soon afterward. Before then, I couldn't recall mass disapproval of the development of KSP 2. I could think of a few names that would be doomers about development when they would announce a delay, but most of the KSP community was very patient and understanding about the delays. If it is dead, which I'm not sure about, I haven't played the game in a year so I haven't been necessarily in the heat of the moment as I have found interest in other things like Amtrak, I think what "killed the game," was the apparent lack of significant progress. Yeah, we could tell if they have enhanced a new extraterrestrial planet or changed some graphics whenever they released a trailer or screenshot. But to have less than the KSP 1 base game available at the start of early access, and take an entire year to get some science into the game? Like when was multiplayer expected to release, in 2028? I think most of the KSP community was exhausted by the worn-out hype. It seems there were some management issues. Throughout development, I could recall the controversy that came when Star Theory was replaced by Intercept Games. And it seems that the game was held back in development from such. However, that is speculation on my part, not official. I don't think it was the forum's fault, or the discord for that matter. Been forever since I have replied to a post on the forums. But still, the same banana on the website keeps civility present. Nice to see you around Vanamonde

I respectfully disagree on it being obvious. Ksp 2 was broken at launch, and still is in many aspects. I think most people are upset with how many of them purchased it on day one in belief there would be no sales coming up for a while. Regarding the discord message. If they were more clear about that to everyone and not just discord users, I think some of the controversy now could have been avoided. I was on the KSP server at the time that was sent and it was hard to find anything about it considering there were thousands of new messages and posts coming in. $50 was asking a lot for KSP fans, that's why a sale this early (I'm aware other developers do this, but most EA games I see are way more polished before they do something like this,) rubbed a lot of loyal day-1 supports the wrong way.

I understand that KSP 2 had a rough launch. It's been plagued with bugs and issues. But regardless, you had quite a loyal fanbase purchase the early-access game on day one for $50. Most people saw that price and thought some of us were crazy for purchasing it at that price. I was the only person in my close friend group of KSP fans who bought it on day one. Coming back to this, it stings sharply. I work at a job where people come to us after being scammed for incredible prices. Most of the time, they loved the thing that they wanted to purchase but were misled in good faith. Before I go further, I'm not saying the $50 Early Access was a scam, but seeing people hurt and betrayed at this feels relatable. What hurts more than anything else is that you guys claim "The EA price will continue to be the same, and then rise once 1.0 is released - as we've confirmed before." But yet there is still this sale occurring now. More than anything else, that's what infuriates me. You can't just say that the price is going to stay the same and do a sale. I don't care if other companies do it. It's misleading to say "continue to be the same." I'm not going to restate much of what @Scarecrow71 said, I think it summarizes my frustrations great. But I will add that I had so much hope for this game. I deleted my old account in favor of this one, but you could have seen all the replies, theories, and website articles that I would devote to this. I would make breakdowns and post them on the Forums eager to see what I got correct. There were times when Nate would say "You got some of them right," and it would make my day. I just wish I had that enthusiasm and trust now.

Kerbal Space Program 2 - Pre-Release Notes
Madrocketman replied to Intercept Games's topic in KSP2 Dev Updates
This isn't working for me. I use a laptop, but I can't go up or down. Anyone else figure out how this is supposed to work for a laptop? -
It's been nearly a year since I've played Kerbal Space Program. I got busy with College, Job, Friends (dating included,) all that good stuff. Though, one of my favorite easter eggs in KSP recently got a plot development So I decided to open my Upsilon KSP save. (for those who don't know, I lead the effort to create community bases at each of the arches.) So I loaded up each arch The first two look just as they always did. But the third, oh my someone must have crashed into that one real good As the community director of the Frontera Project, this arch was to be preserved to have no hanging bases on it. But we see that our efforts to preserve this arch were in vain. The true tragedy is the loss of the observatory (due to the bright lights), which contributed much science to the Frontera Project. RIP 2021-2023 So I wanted to investigate, a probe was to be launched (not gonna lie, for the first launch I have done in over a year, this launch went successfully well lol) Since we couldn't grip onto the strange material, we just skated towards the edge to get photographs of the lights and the base What a fun launch, I kinda miss KSP. I hope you all have been doing great, it's sure has been a while. I don't know if I will do The Doodling Astronaut again, that YT channel was a thing of the past. But never say never See ya around kerbonauts -MRM

Kerbal Space Program 2 Release into Early Access Feb 24th
Madrocketman replied to Intercept Games's topic in 2022
Someone beat me to the punch. As i'm buying new gear soon. It would be nice if we can get an idea -
Hello friends, This is Madrocketman (formerly known on these forums as The Doodling Astronaut) For purposes I cannot release publicly yet (it's a project,) I have been researching types of interplanetary engines. I've been researching on what would be the most practical and most likely for a near future civilization a few centuries from now would use. I've been thinking it would be some type of Fusion or Fission reactor engine. But I have also been interested if large Methane engines are possibly the most practical. But I turn to the forums to ask and possibly determine what the most practical interplanetary-civilization type of engine would be. So any suggestions on what type of engines would fit this position the best? Happy launches, -MRM

Madrocketman replied to adsii1970's topic in Threads of the Month
Ah, i'm not the only one with a horrid June. Cheers to July! And congrats to all the winners for TOTM! -
Unpopular opinion: EVA assembly is overrated. Unless you want to break the game...

I do a lot of graphic design and like to make posters, would that count?

Just discovered this, this is a great idea!
