I also had this issue, the atmosphere after coming back from the Mun indeed went bye-bye. This seems to happen on the main menu aswell, but I don't know if it can be reproduced the same.

Now i can save Kota Kerman from impending doom with the save file you given!

Might be its own bug report, but there's a similar issue, but instead of eating, you have to drink you can also replicate it in the same way, just instead its getting thirsty.

I have this bug too, the same as your situation, truly terrible.
