  1. No, i meant it exactly like that. Of course you are right but when you only consider volume, the result is different even though the endvolume is the same.
  2. A mathematic teacher told me once ( a long time ago) that in some cases 2 + 1 isn't the same as 1 + 2. I couldn't believe it then but i do now. It all depends on the definition of rules, f.e 7 + 1 isn't the same as 1 + 7 when making lemonade with water and syrup.
  3. S U P E R B ! ! ! ! ! That allows for just using a select group of (favorites) parts AND allows for applications impossible so far.
  4. Well, it isn't a real disaster. I was just wondering if that parameter was included. Other question, if a part is added twice, can each part have its own changes or does a change affect both?
  5. Nice! I've been looking for a spherical tank for a long time now. Thank you. (the only thing i don't like is the texture, sorry. I'm more a fan of the orangy type tanks)
  6. Well i've noticed something like that as well (lengthwise). I created a tank as a replacement of six jetfueltanks. (I assume the jetfuel are 1.25 meters in diameter and 2 meters in length.) Total amount of fuel 900 liters. The resulting tank was a lot smaller lengthwise than the six jetfueltanks and the diameter was slightly smaller. In order to get the same length (12 meters) i had to increase the amount of fuel from 900 to 1260 liters.I have ignored the slightly smaller diameter . (That difference probably can be explained by rounding factors). . Frankly, the differences don't really bother me. I can imagine that the use of different materials and designs could easily explain those differences in real life. Whenever necessary i will modify the parameters in the part generator to fit my needs. Worst case scenario i will modify the part.cfg maually to fit my needs.
  7. And so the part generator becomes a part factory .... Continue like that and Squad will only supply the part factory instead of x parts with the next version. ;-))
  8. Electronicfox, i think you should alter your profile. Currently it reads "Rocketry Enthusiast". More appropriate would be "Tracks Wizard". (i mean that seriously).
  9. I'm certainly interested in those textures. I imagine though that they look best on small tanks.
  10. The question i'm asking myself: Why? The fuel tanks already provide a lot of flexibility. They're already possible with the mod. . . Personally, i would like to have more tank shapes: - Spherical - Half pipe (a round pipe, cut lengthwise in half) - (half) ellipsoïd And for balancing porposes, the option to add an amount of weight to a part.
  11. It's just the modern day letter N. New in Newton is pronounced exactly the same as the word "new". The ton is pronounced the same as 'ten' in heighten, so much softer than the word "ten".
  12. I like the shape! And the texturing is fitting. Keep it as it is. If possible, add a container half the length (as storage room, generator room, med bay etc).
  13. I'm wondering how the 'proof of concept' will look like when you're ready with it. The three shown so far are great!
  14. So it's about 7 by 12 meters. (I'm glad there's always the option to use reScalefactor).
  15. Electronixfox, can you give us a status update please?
  16. Shouldn't there be some sort of (red) connection with the engine? (or is it an ion engine?)
  17. The larger, the heavier they obviously should be. As a start i would say 1 KMU of per support wheel in the track (including the drive wheels). The smallest has 5 wheels so 5 KMU per track. This one has 6, so 6 KMU per track. The proof of concept has 10 so 10 KMU per track. On the consumption, is it possibe to determine the load carried by the tracks (including their own mass)? In general the larger the tracks the harder it is to move them. The larger the mass to move the more energie it costs to move the load. I would say mass times a fixed number (when the mass is known). Example: a 50 ton mass costs 50 x 1 (for the smallest track) per minute = 50, 50 X 1.2 for the above track and 50 x 2 for the proof of concept. The tracks should be very robust but an overloaded (too big a mass) should disable the track (or explode). Even tracks have a maximum amount they can carry.
  18. Just an example of how useful a custom sized tank can be.
  19. Previously Squad claimed that it couldn't be done. Now electronicfox has proven that is CAN be done i'm sure they will.
