What happened to increased communication?
Tony Tony Chopper replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
So no one said something was playable, right? You didn't took the framing into account and tricked yourself into thinking something worked which didn't. Hence why I ask you about your perception. Your question alone makes no sense anymore. -

Can you define 'playable' by your perception? That term seems to be misused every so often because of the vague definition. -

The most important hint was that the next update should be done faster than For Science! as said by Nate. Since it took 10 months you would assume 0.3 coming well before October. 'Multiple updates' means at least 2, but let's be realistic and take 3-4. That makes 0.2.2 probably this month(it's more or less about time), 0.2.3 maybe end of april, 0.2.4 maybe in June or beginning of July, which would lead the colonies update in mid to later summer. Mid if 0.2.4 would be the last patch before colonies. Doesn't seem too tight for me and actually realistic. -

I found 2 bug reports in the archives suggesting it might be no bug. Couldn't find any explicit statement however. -
Pure performance grapics.
Tony Tony Chopper replied to Ryaja's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
So, what do you think how much work would be needed for implementing low poly models? Just 'better than nothing' is hardly enough to justify the amount of time that probably would be needed at the moment. I get what you mean, but I think that it does more harm than good and doesn't even meet the expectations. Looking at the performance jumps from patch to patch, that's at least equal from what I would expect from you approach right now. -

Sure, I totally agree with that, but I don't think it's as simple as said. Like many people on other communities stating they want a game to just use up more cores for better performance don't seem to understand that you can't simply distribute every calculation on all the cores to get more FPS. A graphics card sure is similar on that argumentation and sometimes the graphics alone isn't even the root problem. Because a code piece by itself can be a limitation too. Bet there is already lots of work on their list for graphics. I mean, they care about old and different systems and colonies needs the optimization after all. -

Oh yeah, a sneak peek would be pretty cool and fitting for the 24 February. Fingers crossed there will be something interesting to read in all the impatient I have right now.- 442 replies

Mind sharing your exact ship/save so I can test this situation on my rig too? I have a 5800X3D and upgraded my graphics to a 7800XT(a reference card) 2 weeks ago. I didn't came to the point of getting 2FPS so far. Things coming to my mind: How is your VRAM doing? I'm very sure this might be your problem. Although it should have been seen in the task manager by you. You didn't mentioned VRAM however. Maybe it's a 3000 series problem, I remember seeing plenty of low FPS reports from 3000 series gamer in various games. It might just have been a launch/early driver problem. In any way it seemed odd to me. You actually almost meet recommended specs anyway. Which resolution actually? Experimental drivers (wouldn't expect it)?

My Kerbals sitting all together on the Christmas tree. Decorated with lil' rocket ornaments and a dapper kerbol decor on the tip of the tree. Enjoying the nostalgic scent & look of the tree. Slurping their tasty hot space chocolate. Slowly and delightfully. They realized eventually: Jeb isn't here. Strange. Where is Jeb? Ah yes, of course. Jeb was the one getting the Christmas present in the last minute. No surprise. He's very busy taming rocketry all the time. But if you know who Jeb is, you know he can only come in one way to the party. PHEEEEEEEEEEeeeeww.... KABOOM! Half the buildings may be destroyed, but no worries. The Christmas tree is fine. Jeb is here to finally hand his presents out: Brand new space suits, perfectly fitted for everyone! Jeb saved the day once again. Yes, that's Christmas the Kerbal way for me.
