Release KSP2 Release Notes - Update v0.2.2.0
Brody.mack replied to Intercept Games's topic in KSP2 Dev Updates
Wow, this really does look like the final nail in the coffin. However, I do find it odd that if this was the final update they didn't try and pull the "update 1.0" BS to remove the early access warning from Steam to get a few extra bucks from this cash sink. Maybe they still are considering that the studio still has two weeks until they're officially closed. But, after finally playing KSP1 (I was one of the unfortunate few who played KSP2 before KSP1) I will finally admit that this game was an awful excuse of a playable experience. As much as I wanted colonies and interstellar, this was a doomed project. I am sorry to all those affected by the studio closures. Goodbye KSP2. -
I'm new to the modding scene and found a couple of guides that told me to make a separate instance of KSP to mod so the folder in Steam is a vanilla backup. That seems to be the smartest way, but I still want to have Steam track the hours I have played KSP. Is there a way to allow Steam to track the mod hours while also keeping a backup?

Aquatic Colonies? (Colonies Update)

Maybe DLC down the line? -
What happened to increased communication?
Brody.mack replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
The problem is nowadays we don't even get non-leak communication. They've made KERB monthly, we no longer get weekly "Upnates", and there hasn't been a dev chat or showcase in months. I love leaks like the next guy, but every time I hop on the forums (about once a week or so) there's no new info from the devs. -
K.E.R.B. Report Update
Brody.mack replied to Dakota's topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
I hope that this shift to development-heavy rather than bug-heavy will mean we get more communication on the development of future updates. Before now, bugs were the priority and we were kept mostly in the loop about their status, I hope they plan on replacing that communication with communication about colonies. As said in the post above, there wasn't a lot of progress in the bugs, hoping that there is tons of progress in other areas. -

Yeah I miss when we would get almost weekly updates from Nate over the summer, it was nice reading what the team was up to. It has been a while since we had an AMA, Dev Diary, Dev Chat, or Show and Tell, and we don't get as many "upnates" as we used to. I wish we did because colonies will be the biggest change to KSP and we know next to nothing about it, even the older showcases from before the release we didn't give a lot of details. The orbital colony picture was nice but we still know next to nothing about how the systems are going to work, what kind of parts we are expecting, and how far along the team is. -
I also feel like currently, it is hard to appreciate explosions when they do happen. I know it is kinda hard to reduce the lag spike when explosions happen but when my large rocket inevitably explodes I want to watch it. I'm glad they added a delay before the "Uh oh!" screen pops up so I can better view the explosion, but I still feel like there's some improvements to be made there.

I feel like a big retaining feature coming before 1.0 would be multiplayer. Most solely single-player games face the issue you brought up, but since there's a multiplayer feature planned, there will always be "something new" to do with your friends, keeping retention. Especially after adding multiple star systems and colony building. There will be plenty to do then, just gotta wait.

As a new player to KSP, I used some of the tutorials and liked them. However, I agree with other responses that they need to address: 1. Rendevous and docking 2. Interplanetary transfers 3. Aerobraking and gravity assists 4. How to utilize RCS (maybe also show how to use it for larger craft too) 5. How to build planes I feel that these are major skills to know in the game and coming from a new player, these are things that have been the hardest to learn. It would be really nice if these were shown through the game so people don't have to go to the forums and YouTube to learn how to. These also will be very important when we get interstellar and colonies since these build the foundations for those updates.

I'm still new to KSP (~50 hours) and I am planning a large mission to Duna with an orbitally assembled (through docking) spacecraft that has everything I need for a tour of all Duna SOI. However, I am having trouble designing a stable craft. When I tried to assemble it the components were too unstable to dock and after further testing via the cheat menu, when the entire craft was docked and in orbit, it still had stability issues. I most recently tried to add Vernier thrusters to it, but it mostly has the same issues. Any tips?

My Kerbals decided to celebrate the holidays by sacrificing Jeb to end the Kraken once and for all... at least that's what they're hoping.

I'm hopeful that they showed less than there actually is in the update. Hopefully, they learned their mistakes of overpromising, and anything else extra we get that wasn't announced are like extra little surprises even if they are really small. Overall, I'm very hyped for this update!
