What are your suggestions for KSP2 development?
Presto200 replied to Meecrob's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Just to clarify do you mean feedback about the game or feedback about communication between development and the community? Just a little hard to tell based on the last couple posts before yours vs. the majority of the thread -

Can whoever has that spreadsheet of time since previous updates add it to this thread? I think it was @Spicat? -
I would like to point to this interaction between @Scarecrow71, @Flush Foot, and myself over on the "Why Play? (suggestions)" forum, I think bringing back procedural missions that allow for gameplay away from the main story arch (that you don't have to complete main missions to get more of) would be great for the community to "commit" more to KSP2. It would definitely make each save file feel more personal and would be a reason to come back everyday. Obviously you would want the missions to be better than the KSP1 career missions but I think procedural missions would bring a lot of players closer to KSP2 than KSP1

I agree that IVA view is one of the things that I hope for with every patch as a quality of life thing. I don't have much time to play KSP but when I do I play KSP2 (probably mostly because my crafts are mostly simple and I don't deal with bugs) so I guess you can say I'm already "committed" . Anyways, I think the things that I am most excited to see is just quality of life things that come with each update, I am just enjoying watching development of the game and looking at how far we have came from launch. I also am very excited for roadmap things to come (I share interest in recourses and that's why I always voice my yearn for recourses to come before interstellar).

No I’m just saying that we asked for a bit more transparency and that’s what I got from Dakota very soon after this topic went up. I think for moral of both community and development we should recognize goods done by the dev team.

@Dakota Just throwing my hat in the ring because I’ve always been of the thought process of resources should be before interstellar. I think that mob vote hurts the Minecraft community because whatever is not voted for will never be in the game (or at least not for a long long time). I think if we had a poll for this big decision of the road map, where we know whatever we didn’t vote for will still end up in the end game, it would make the community feel valued in their opinion on how development should go and could be a boost to moral also. I personally am more curious than anything at this point, I feel like a lot of people agree that they want resources to bring functionality to colonies sooner but that’s just what I have seen, I don’t know if that’s how most feel. Since this is such a big decision there would be a large amount of players who actually vote for their choosing (especially if you announced it on the YouTube channel for those not in the loop on all the socials/forums). Anyways I see why mob vote sucks but I don’t think “which should come first” would suck. Anyways I know both will come eventually and I appreciate the work that the team puts in but I would love if this were a possibility (obviously behind the curtains development schedule/progress matters a lot about if that sort of poll would even be reasonable/possible) Anyways, Happy Weekend Y’all! -

Maybe it could be good for decisions on what could come first, knowing that the option that was not chosen will still end up in the game. I would love a poll to vote for if recourses or interstellar should come first, obviously they will both end up in the game but I would be interested to see how many people agree/disagree with the current roadmap -
I would like to say that if yall are talking about communication you can take it to the “what happened to increased communication” thread. I think we should be thankful that Dakota let us know pretty quick that this inference that was made in the beginning of this thread was false. That’s good communication and keeping some expectations in check which is what we say we want. Yes of course I would also love more information on colonies or the next patch but that’s a different type of communication (i.e. leaks)

Under Pressure KSP2 Mission, Land 10 Kerbals on Eve and back :)

Fair enough...

Thanks for the information, I'll still take this as good news though

Lots to think about, I guess we'll just get more information when we're closer to it. I play video games with my sister and if we are playing multiplayer KSP she would probably rather be doing something together rather than having 2 separate space agency's or separate missions. So this type of functionality would be important to me so that she could have fun getting into the game (KSP is not necessarily her cup of tea as far as singleplayer goes but she says she is excited to play with me when multiplayer comes)

I was alerted to this by someone in the discord and I think its pretty interesting so I wanted to bring it to the forums. They showed me that you can see both public and private versions of the game released on SteamDB https://steamdb.info/app/954850/depots/ in the past 24 hours they have tested a total of 7 versions of the game, most recently being 30 minutes ago. Hopefully this means a new patch is soon! very cool Credit: @TheUSSLoliChan on discord

I know multiplayer is a long ways away but I was thinking about stratolaunches and how currently if you are trying to launch a rocket by airplane you pretty much have to choose if you let the airplane survive or the rocket. I know you could use probes and not care about it but I think it would be cool if in multiplayer you and a friend could control a vessel at the same time and be assigned different vessels after separation. This is kind of just an idea I had and I hope the devs have thought about this. I also think if this was a feature we should be able to have a "friend cam" that we can open, if a friend on the server allows it you can watch their craft from in game. It would open like a menu and it could just have a little screen that has capture cam on their craft, you can move the camera in the screen to your liking maybe. This would be cool because if we were working together for a stratolaunch I would love to watch them fly the rocket while I'm landing the plane. Again just an idea and I know multiplayer is probably still 2-2.5 years away. also I realize that a friend cam might be rough on performance but hopefully by then they get to a point where they can handle that.

Also I'm always a fan of communication and understanding through (civil) conflict. I just think that if its a conversation that has taken multiple pages on this April Fools post, it should probably have its own thread
-
This is a whole big conversation, maybe make a new thread in Suggestion and Development for it? I personally disagree and would say it is fixed but I will say maybe they will later reiterate how they fixed it to handle your concerns, but for right now it is fixed as good as we need it to be
-
I think right now the abort button on the left hand side of the flight screen doesn't do anything unless you set it up to do specific things, which makes sense because the game doesn't know what craft you build and doesn't know how to save your Kerbals with every design you have. I did just have a thought though that would be fun to see in game, I think that if we could explode our space ships/planes that are controlled by probe it could be fun to watch from time to time. It would be cool to get to see more explosions when I'm flying because I feel like I only see them when I'm crashing into a surface. I of course don't want random explosions whenever but if I decide to press that button that could itch the "blow something big up" part of my brain. Just a thought this morning, happy Wednesday. P.S. badly typed sorry

What happened to increased communication?
Presto200 replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Usually they announce patch updates on Fridays and then plan to release them on Tuesdays (if there aren't delays). I get excited each Friday but I just keep telling myself that each Friday that goes by without an announcement of a patch is one week closer to the week that the new patch is out. I am very curious to see how much will be in this next patch, hopefully it will be enough to help the moral of the community. -
On the topic of the wobbly rockets fix, it is a good thing if you need struts for some designs still, that's why they left struts in the game. It makes sense that truly massive ships need some extra help, especially if it is stuff hanging off the side. It's good we don't need excessive amounts of struts just to launch a simple vertical stack rocket. The Devs did a good job on this and we should recognize their goods if we want any right to recognize their bads.

Have you tried to launch at a Duna transfer window? If you go into the tracking station and look at the orientation of all the planets then you should timewarp until you see Kerbin behind Duna at about 45 degrees (a little less that that technically). This should be the easiest way to get an encounter. This is a helpful map (not mine) Credit: Unknown

Whoops! for some reason I thought that Science came out in February, I guess I was remembering the month of the games initial release and didn't think that through haha. You're absolutely right, also I hope you're right about the patch being soon, it has felt like a while (it probably is taking longer because of that sprint planning time?)
