  1. Gotta say the Brazilian audience surprised me in a positive way; when the Netherlands won the 'alternative' final with 3 - 0 against Brazil, the majority of the Brazilians stayed to cheer the Dutch team ... !
  2. No Blitzkrieg like in the semi-finals against Brazil, but the final match was fun and sometimes nervewrecking to watch anyway. Too bad my stream went down for a moment just when Germany scored. Most of the Dutch population (81%) rooted for Die Mannschaft btw ... !
! / Also thanks to Brasil for a perfectly organized World Championship football ... !
  4. Until recently I would've said: "moar planets .. !!" But now that I can fabricate 'em myself I would say: the possibility to create underwater vehicles (adds extra dimension to planetary exploration ... !)
  5. -FAR -Deadly Re-entry -Visual Enhancements (EVE) I like a nice and somewhat realistic environment ... !
  6. Thanks ... ! Going to experiment right now. Edit: well, your advice was bulls-eye. Managed to fabricate a decent looking planetoïd within 15 minutes ... !
  7. I fabricated this planet with two plug-ins: Planet Factory CE and KittopiaSpace. Planet Factory lets you create planets based on templates with a text editor while Kittopia lets you edit planets with an ingame GUI.
  8. GeeALS means indeed gravity (and ALS is something like Average Level Surface). Found it out when I landed on a modded planet and typed '25' as a test. My poor rocket was destroyed instantly. Gotta say its a lot of trial and error without documentation but I'm making progress too. EDIT: what steps should I undertake to succesfully export height and colormap from Space Engine? I know something about the process (in which directory to look, use only PNG and correct resolutions, etc.) but not all yet ...
  9. Jeb earned himself a long holiday on a bleak planet.
  10. Planets are indeed more complicated ... ! Although I've managed to fabricate an ugly Minmus-esque planet that looks like a giant piece of meat from afar. The thing doesn't really makes sense with 5 atmosphere at the surface and it burns my eyes.
  11. Interesting program. I'm experimenting with Planet Factory CE since yesterday but I'm still mostly clueless. However, I've managed to copy and alter the Serious System and begin to understand what certain values in the text editor mean. Now I've got to find a way to change the star in the system to a gas giant. Changing the reference body to "Jool" might do the trick.
  12. Absolutely ... ! However, it seems there are technical problems; the game recognizes the Sun (Kerbol) as the sole source of light and gravity, so putting another star at 100 billion km from the Sun doesn't make really sense right now as that other star wouldn't emit light and solar panels would be useless. But ... I might be wrong.
  13. Hmmm, in 0.25 I'd say completion of IVA's in the existing pods/cockpits and spicing up some planets or moons that've been left unattended for months. Geography of Laythe, Vall, Tylo and Ike is still 0.17-ish.
  14. Wow. Much craft. Very gigantic. My biggest rockets masses somewhere between 220 and 250 tons on the launchpad and are able to deliver up to 30-40 tons to LKO. Absolutely tiny compared to most creations I see here ... !
  15. Bob Kerman on a dusty Duna. The dot above the Sun is Moho. The Mun can be barely seen through the clouded atmosphere. Laythe moves in front of Jool.
  16. Some form of binary star system would be a way to avoid the FTL/Thousands of years travel-problem. Put another star at 50 billion km from the Sun (only 500 times further away than Eeloo) and add parts that 'borrows' a bit from plans like the Deadalus project in the 70's created by the British Interplanetary Society. I'd say a bit of artistic freedom while fabricating multiple star-systems wouldn't hurt.
  17. Testing the first descent spaceplane with FAR and DRE installed. Can reach LKO but is also rather fast while in atmosphere (around 2200 km/h at 12-13 km height with half throttle).
  18. Dunno about you guys but I think that whole planet Earth story is one big lie. The Moon orbits Earth, right? I see the moon at least several times a week clearly in the sky. But why can't I see Earth, despite the planet being much bigger than the Moon?
  19. A small spaceplane en route to LKO. Kerbin seen from Munar orbit.
  20. Indeed a fantastic addition, Astronomer ... ! I've seen one tiny issue though; the Munar terrain clips through the 'glow' in the polar regions. This could be quickly solved however with Alt + N and raising the height of the layer from 6100 to - for example - 6400 ... !
  21. This compilation is top-class and visually brings the game very close to Space Engine. I haven't encountered any memory related issues, despite having a modest computer and running the basic version of ATM. Framerate tends to drop somewhat though when looking at Kerbins oceans from low orbit, but this isn't a serious issue. Muchas grácias for this astonishing mod ... !
  22. I'd say an asteroid. I would grab my car and drive 800 km to the southeast where the Alps are and hide in one of the deep valleys. Probably a futile attempt if the asteroid wipes all life out though.
  23. Fabricated the Verena Lander, a vessel for a return trip to the Evian surface with FAR installed. Roughly half of the shown vessel is the lander.
  24. Hmmm, stability issues seem to form a problem indeed ... ! I'm think about various solutions ... Perhaps turning the rocket into a giant dart to Ensure stable entry into the thick Evian atmosphere. Seems like an interesting challenge ... !
  25. Great mod ... ! I'm gradually getting the hang of it. As a matter of fact, I'm planning a return mission from Eve with FAR. I've read somewhere that Delta-V requirements to reach LKO from the surface is actually lower than without FAR, provided one pilots a tall and aerodynamical rocket. I assume this isn't much different on Eve. Now, what if I ascended from the Evian surface at 2-3 km above what passes for sea-level, I would still need ... 5-6 km Delta-V ... ? So I could suffice with only a moderately large lander massing a 'mere' 30-40 tonnes (with Mk1 Pod) ... ?
