Centaur00-42: Revolutionizing landers

Tim: This looks like it could carry two of Nova\'s nukes! -
Twin-boom designs are definitely worth it, the massive tail area helps stabilise it vertically and the twin tailfins at a slight angle certainly don\'t hinder stability I\'d prefer some smaller wings for this plane, but I\'ll probably have to wait for C7 to finish his next version for that. Ideally I\'d stick trapezoid wings like on the real vampire on here. Here\'s some different angles, by the way. I may build a rather larger version of the same design later on. The resolution is too low to see the struts, but they\'re there, maybe about six of them. Two to hold the tailplane rigid, two on the booms to the centre fuselage for stability in that regard. The big elevators were added individually to prevent them acting as ailerons, because I hate ridiculous roll rates but not being able to do efficient barrel rolls.

We\'ve done it again, ladies and gentlemen, today, we introduce to you the F-52 werewolf. A highly efficient in atmosphere single engined interceptor/ground attack/close air support plane for the economically minded dictators among us! Armed with one, two, three or more railguns and however many rockets you can sling under its wings, the F-52 has a huge loadout capability, its engine bay is modular, meaning you can optimise the mission package for the task at hand! With reasonably realistic flight characteristics both empty and full of fuel, I think we\'ve reached a point of perfection in spaceplanes with this design. This particular plane has independent elevators and ailerons, meaning that there is no compromise in manoevrability, with good response regardless of what manoevre you\'re pulling. She has a take-off speed of 100m/s and a landing speed of anywhere between 40m/s and a hundred, engine power is preferred to smooth out landings, but not necessary unless doing a fully ASAS assisted landing. She\'ll cruise all day at low throttle settings, doing 75m/s under 500m altitude! Basically, I was trying to build myself a P-38, which is difficult since the tail booms don\'t have engine mounts and props aren\'t in, so I switched over to a vampire-esque design instead, using the space between the rear stabilisers to stop the thrust from the engine hitting parts. The result was nothing short of beautiful in my eyes.

Even with a single node and standard tank and parts, no dice. Using 13.1 full.
-
I have tried all those things, I just can\'t get it to work at all, just like when I tried project blaze. The nodes attach to each other, but not other parts, I can get two tanks to attach horizontally on a single axis, but not the other, vertical construction is fine. I don\'t know, it just doesn\'t like my computer at all.
-
Ah well, then I\'ll ignore this part until it\'s officially designed to be used that way. No way I\'m going to spend fifteen minutes trying to attach engines horizontally every time.

I mean with the node piece... I can\'t get that to work at all. -
I can\'t even attach parts horizontally. Any idea why that would be?

I can\'t even mount engines or the C7 bodies like that. HOW DO? -
Oh yeah! I should\'ve realised that, because I built a ship trying to compete with it >.<

Hahaha, Golakka, I can already tell you\'re a good one

Change the thrust vector so they fire 45 degrees outwards -
Or place then exactly at the CoG by putting the majority of the fuel thanks there to start with
-
Do it then!
-
Also a possibility!
-
Try IL-2!

FS98 was the first game I ever bought with my own money. I quickly amassed over 300 planes from flightsim.com I\'ve owned every iteration except FSX since and many other flight sims on the side. Flight sim, you were the love of my gaming life. You will be sorely missed. Die in a fire, microsoft. RIP Microsoft Flight sim.

Are you paranoid afraid of being followed while test flying your planes? Be afraid no longer! With the Colibri-21 missile you have backwards firing capabilities! swat those enemy flies from the air! The colibri-21 mounted on its hummingbird testbed firing sequence: enter level flight (Or any other kind) Fire retro engines, increase to full throttle Fire! Also available: flame throwers Sometimes I surprise even myself with my own genius.

I was hoping for a 'OH THEN I MUST ALSO'
-
I would make it somewhat better looking, but that\'d require rebuilding the ship from scratch, I\'m too lazy for that
-
Yeah! But the problem I\'m having atm is that struts don\'t work for me so all my large rockets apart from C7 stuff is wobbly
