  1. While apparently made in jest, this thread is unlikely to go anywhere good. Closing now.
  2. We're talking about the units in the game, guys. Again, let's please not get into the pros and cons of Imperial, or anything else not game-related.
  3. Watch how those measurements fluctuate as you go in and out of sunlight, graze the surface of the sun, and so on.
  4. We all have things we'd like to see in the game, and things we'd prefer the devs did not devote their time to. This is not a reason to treat each other like enemies. Please don't make the discussion personal.
  5. Kerbin's poles and equator are the same temp, and things like that. The numbers make no sense in any scale. It's just a placeholder, and the whole thing is being reworked for 1.0.
  6. As this is not taking place within the game, it has been moved to Space Lounge.
  7. KSP's terminology may be a little sloppy, but the game units are indeed metric. Except, that is, for the temperature system. It is a placeholder and the numbers make no sense in any scale. That being said, please keep the discussion on-topic, and let's not get into another metric-vs.-Imperial spat, nor make fun of forum members who do not know the answers to the questions they are asking. Asking is how they will learn this stuff, after all.
  8. Temperature and pressure should vary during a day/night cycle, is why I was thinking it would be nice if those did yield different measurements. And I did specify in my suggestion that the idea should only apply to those atmo/temp instruments. And I proposed it not so much to get more science out of it, but to make the use of probes and those science instruments more interesting. But like I said, it's just a small idea that wouldn't make a big change to the game, and I am not militant about the subject.
  9. I'm sorry, folks, but additional star systems is one of those ideas that has been brought up so many times that it has been placed on our list of things not to suggest again, for the sake of keeping forum discussions progressing along productive and fresh avenues. This thread will be closed now.
  10. The name of the ore is going to be "ore." Not particularly colorful, perhaps, but certainly unlikely to generate confusion.
  11. As these threads do appear to be referring to the same phenomenon, they have been merged.
  12. Folks, if you dislike a discussion, just post a counter-argument or skip to the next thread. Calling it "stupid" doesn't do anything but make others angry and less inclined to listen to your ideas.
  13. Your posts did not show up right away, DrNickDoom, because a new member's first few posts must be approved by a moderator, as a measure to help keep spambots out. But post a few more times, and that limitation will be automatically removed. And welcome to the forum.
  14. This sounds like a bug, and so it has been moved to the support subsection. Please add as much info as you can, and perhaps screenshots might help. (I've assumed you're not using mods. If you are, list them as well.)
  15. For the purposes of temperature and atmosphere science collection, I would like it if day and night would be considered distinct biomes, creating a second opportunity to take those readings at the same landing site. While not an essential tweak, this would make the appropriate science instruments more valuable, and give the player a reason to do more than just land a probe and make two recordings of each instrument, then abandon the probe forever.
  16. I do not know why this sort of game goes wrong, Goodle.... I can only repeat that sad experience has shown us that something about identifying themselves with a country causes players to become so invested in the competition that they start disputing scores, forming factions pitting forum member against forum member, starting feuds that carry over to unrelated parts of the forum, and so on. I'm sorry, but we can't allow it on our forum.
  17. Unfortunately, this kind of game, in which players take on the roles of competing countries, has resulted in some of the worst arguments this forum has ever seen, and so we've had to make a rule against it (2.2.j). Your game, Goodle..., will have to be played someplace off of this forum. Perhaps you can find a place to host it elsewhere?
  18. Discussions of international laws and politics never end well on the forum, and for that reason, have been ruled off-limits (2.2.b). Apologies, but this thread will be closed now.
  19. wago95, your wish has been granted! Check out the new version when it is released in a few days. After that, we'll all have much more to say about it, but until then, let's wait to find out what it is we're talking about.
  20. This game has been moved to the games sub-forum. Proceed.
  21. People, sometimes a forum member just wants to honor a certain sad event. It doesn't mean that this member is saying other events are any less tragic or other sacrifices less deserving, but for some reason, threads like this often devolve into arguments about who had it worse and who did worse, and so on. Please, either add a sympathetic thought, if you are so inclined, or simply skip to the next thread.
  22. We've been somewhat lenient about the structure of threads in this game sub lately, but threads with no actual subject or rules are starting to clutter the place with nonsense posts which require a lot of moderator attention because of the potential for abuse. Please have a structure to your games, and stick to them. We will be closing some of these threads now. When participating in this section, please keep in mind not only the forum's overall rules, but this sub's own specific guidelines.
  23. Not so much of a game thread, and there seems to be something wrong with the image.
