  1. Cyclopean ruins. That is the door to Cthulu's tomb.
  2. What does the F3/post-flight report say is the first thing to go wrong?
  3. Pictures always help others diagnose your problems. But since 5 is not a symmetry setting in the game, I'm assuming you placed them by hand? In which case, I suspect you somehow placed some of the girders in an inverted orientation without realizing it. Anyway, why not simply rotate the tanks back the way you want them with the WASD keys? Even better, build one stricture the way you want it, then copy/paste it 4 more times. You can copy an assembly by alt-l.click on its root part.
  4. That's simply how the game works. One parent part can have many children, but each child part can only have one parent. In other words, you can have branchings, but you can't ever bring the branches back together again as fully-connected closed loops. The only exception is the stretchable EAS-4 struts, but even they can only be stretched between two parts which already trace a path back to the same root part.
  5. If they're not, they're great big finking wind-catchers which would create ungodly drag while in atmosphere, and in space, would just be empty holes wrapped around with useless metal shells which add weight to the vehicle for no purpose.
  6. If the rendezvous is taking that long, it's probably just orbital mechanics; you have to wait for time to bring the ships together. If the docking after rendezvous is taking that long, something's wrong with Mechjeb.
  7. This thread is nearly a year and a couple of KSP versions old. The info in it is not so relevant anymore. Closing the thread now to avoid confusion.
  8. I have to say, guys, that I've never discerned a difference between having caps lock on or off on EVA.
  9. (I haven't moved the thread to mod help because it's not clear that it's a mod issue.)
  10. You'd have to fly a rendezvous in Mun orbit, and if the original ship didn't have a docking ring, you'd have to have a Kerbal ferry data back and forth while constantly fiddling with RCS to keep the ships from drifting too far apart. All things considered, it would be much easier to forget about that ship and fly the whole mission over again with a craft that has the range to make the roundtrip.
  11. A tiny imprecision in the transit burn can cause one to miss by quite a lot. Place a maneuver node on your Kerbin orbit and try both tugging on the adjusters, and moving the whole node around in your orbit. It may take some doing, but you should eventually get close enough to see the "closest approach" icons, and then you can see how you need to adjust from there. If it's still not coming together, fine-tune by plotting a mid-course correction.
  12. MaxxQ, it's not just the position of the cockpit, but the size of it relative to the height of the fuselage. A Viper pilot would have to be straddling an air duct as if riding a motorcycle, assuming there was room for both at all.
  13. This is the most elaborate Mun mission I have seen in quite some time.
  14. Is that, um, thing for lack of a better word getting lift from vertical wing surfaces? Meanwhile, here's how to use an Imgur album.
  15. Well, yes, it will be dead if people are posting the stuff that belongs there elsewhere. Thread moved.
  16. Cruise: 10.5 tons of fuel per hour. TONS!
  17. There are two primary places to look for news about the game's development; there's the forums Announcements sub-forum, and periodic updates about events and upcoming game aspects in The Daily Kerbal sub-forum. And you might not have been released from the forum's spambot protection yet when you tried to add a signature. It should work if you try it now, though.
  18. This how-to question moved to the how-to section, and all is right with the world once more.
  19. There are several threads like this already, folks. Some examples: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/67467-What-are-the-most-important-things-you-ve-learned-about-playing-KSP-to-pass-on http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/58260-Tips-and-tricks-you-found-out-yourself?highlight=tips+tricks It's more helpful if the information is less scattered around the forum, so please add posts to those existing threads rather than start another one of the same sort. Thanks, and closing this one for the sake of keeping the forum tidy.
  20. The three ocean worlds (Kerbin, Eve, and Laythe) have two surfaces, and thus, twice the rendering.
  21. zeppelinmage, I know you're not a newbie, but it's easy to overlook the obvious stuff sometimes. It's very easy to confuse oneself about which side stack is which, and that sort of thing. Mouse over the sepratrons themselves and make sure the ones you want to fire have their boxes on the staging display show the white border, or mouse over the staging icon and see if the right sepratrons turn green. It's likely you simply have the sepratrons from one asparagus stage assigned to the boosters of another. (I do this all the stupid time. )
  22. Yeah, don't delete in your own saved game file because that will wipe out your own saved ships. Clear out the "ships" folder in your KSP main folder, and then the stock ships will not appear in any of your save files within that version of KSP.
  23. How about rather than trying to capture the ship, just EVA the pilot to a rescue ship?
  24. Confirmed that the temple is above ground again in .23
  25. Check The Alien Years, by Robert Silverberg. The only aliens-invade-earth story that actually makes sense.
