  1. Ewokinarmor, I've moved your thread to add-on affairs, where it's more likely to get the proper attention.
  2. Ah, the old tower. [Nostalgic sniff.] That certainly looks big enough to reach orbit. Were you having trouble with it?
  3. Yeah, they didn't dumb it down. You have to put some thought and effort into making things happen.
  4. Since there's already a current thread on this subject, the two have been combined for the sake of tidiness. Please continue the bragging.
  5. I believe all the airplane parts started off as a mod, but that was before I found the game.
  6. Your post is not in the wrong spot. What I meant was that it's the kind of entertaining story which, if fleshed out with pics and stuff, makes for a good mission report. I was being encouraging rather than critical. (I'm also trying to call attention to the mission reports sub-forum, because that seems to me to be under-utilized.)
  7. Hmm. I guess I haven't visited the parts of the forum where that has been asked for. Well, if you're providing a service which is in demand, then I withdraw my reservations.
  8. Please keep the tone of discussion civil, ladies and/or gentlemen. The purpose of this sub-forum is to try to help each other.
  9. I'm not sure we're all talking about the same thing. A thermometer on a ship near the sun should be freaking HOT!!!, no matter what the local gas density is like and even if the instrument is in the shade, because heat would be imparted to it by radiation and conduction through the vessel itself as well as from the convecting gas. (Am I using those terms correctly, Spatzimaus?) The planned new space telescope needs to have multiple levels of shade/protection for the IR sensors to work even though it is not going to be anywhere near the sun.
  10. Hello Mr. Welthagen. Your offer has been moved to the science discussions sub-forum, where it will find a wider audience. Good luck with it.
  11. How do we know that's not what the ship looked like before?
  12. Hey guy or girl. Welcome to the game, and the forum.
  13. Progress report: I suck. Col_Jessep, I can't handle your plane! I found it very difficult to steer, but it got to orbit with fuel to spare. I do not understand why. Still studying. Sirine, I tried those planes, and now I am depressed because they work so much better than mine.
  14. You really need to add a number of additional areas to your poll, or you're excluding a significant proportion of KSP players. Off the top of my head, Latin America would be a pretty big group all by itself. (Especially since that would include a lot of the guys who are making the game.)
  15. Guys, if I recall correctly, Spatzimaus is a real-life space scientist. If you disagree with him, you're going to have to back it up with math and higher degrees and stuff.
  16. All of the Trek series are uneven, and all have many abominable episodes. But the quality of the acting was best on TOS, and its best episodes are better than the best episodes of any other series. Thank goodness they stopped with Voyager, though, eh? Before they really embarrassed themselves with something wretched.
  17. Couldn't one simply not use the quicksave and revert features?
  18. I seem to recall hearing that this might have something to do with your terrain settings. I myself have never encountered the problem, and I drove to that monolith yesterday.
  19. You can go just about anywhere in a rover, if you have the patience. I've driven one from the north pole of Minmus to the south pole, for example, and about halfway around Mun. But yeah, it took several days and got pretty boring after a while. And that was in the old days, when Tosh's cart mod could zip you around at ridiculous speeds. Got some nice scenery screenshots, though.
  20. Since the two threads on this subject were, well, on the same subject, they have been merged so that all the confusing information is in one tidy place.
  21. That can work, but also adds mass to the plane, which I'd like to avoid. Mr. Speed, how are the wings attached without those central struts?
  22. I've tried that again and again for 1.5 years, without success. That's why I'm trying the other method. And I don't mean going straight up, but trying to find a good compromise between forward speed and climb rate. Like I said, it's not working, but at least it's failing in a different way, which is a nice change of pace. And Nao, I'll try that with the engines.
