  1. The mix of silly and serious is what won me over, too. Welcome to the game, and the forum.
  2. Eeloo doesn't require any special techiques, thought its SOI is a small target to hit in proportion to the distance you have to cross to get there. What sort of trouble are encountering?
  3. I've also observed a lower threshold before lag sets in with .22. Not sure if it's happened to everybody, though.
  4. The full game has bunches more parts, and many more destinations to fly to. You won't regret buying it.
  5. Before they introduced docking parts, we used to fly multi-ship missions. For example, a one-way lander and a non-landing recovery vehicle, so one ship didn't have to be capable of both functions. It's A LOT of work, though, especially getting multiple ships to arrive at around the same time. You're better off learning to dock. You might try practicing with this trainer I made. it's two ships in one launch, so you can practice separating them and bringing them back together, without having to fly a second ship all the way from the Launchpad to orbit.
  6. Yep. Upload the screenshot to Imgur.com and use their BBCode link in your post. (Or one of the similar services.)
  7. Katateochi is in the midst of moving to a new house. It may be a while before he responds. (Two weeks to get a 'net hookup in the UK?!)
  8. There is no in-game log, and I don't believe anything like that is planned. Looks like you'll need to make it yourself. Unless somebody can suggest a mod?
  9. I have been playing for 18 months, and I'm still learning.
  10. It's hard to say without seeing your vessel, but is it possible that as you burn fuel, the center of mass is shifting towards the back (where the weight of the engines generally can be found)?
  11. This sounds like it might be expanded into a mission report.
  12. Are you asking for help with flying, design, or both? Pictures of your ship might help. Meanwhile, here's a walkthrough for moon missions with a sandbox example ship, and the third ship in this thread is a career mode moon ship using parts from tiers 0-3 only.
  13. (Slipped this next door, into the video section. )
  14. Yup. Post a few more times to prove you're not a spambot, and shortly thereafter the limitations on your account will be removed.
  15. LordofRockets, while it might seem like an innocent topic, multiplayer has been discussed to shreds and, oddly enough, tends to lead to bad feelings and even arguments. Therefore, it has indeed been added to the list of things "not to suggest," so please look over that list. And by the way, Squad has said that they have no interest in implementing multiplayer for the foreseeable future, though there are some mods and other non-official ways of trying it. 16. The example ship in my orbit walkthrough should have more than enough fuel to orbit, and so uses a simple but somewhat inefficient ascent method for training purposes. If you're trying to fly the S-12 to orbit, you'll need to fly a more efficient path. I'd suggest trying the Orbit Trainer C in sandbox a few times to get the idea, and then switch back to campaign and the S-12. When you do fly the S-12, watch your speed and throttle back to keep it below "terminal velocity" so that you don't waste fuel fighting air resistance. There's a guide to terminal velocity in this thread (because I'm too lazy to collect the numbers myself). Also, turn to the east in steps. Roughly, 30 degrees east at 10,000m, 60 degrees at 20,000, and fully horizontal at 30,000. That should keep the fuel usage down and allow you to first achieve orbit and then de-orbit.
  17. Yeah, the TT-70. The one that looks like a little trestle bridge.
  18. Have you noticed how much power transmitting takes? A Kerbal would need a coal power plant in his backpack to transmit back to KSC.
  19. There is a certain pool of points to be collected by performing each kind of experiment in each of several regions. Repeating an experiment does not gain as many points as the first time you do it, but you can just keep performing that experiment until you've collected all the points available for that test/location. So have you tried re-doing missions/experiments? Have you looked for different places in which to perform experiments? (There are some lists you could find of all the locations, but I don't want to spoil it.) Also, once you research solar panels and a probe core, you can start flinging one-way missions around with abandon, and those can be worth a lot of points. And by the way, this is the first iteration of the science system, and it is already scheduled to be substantially re-worked in the next version of the game.
  20. Yeah, a low orbit around Tylo is kind of terrifying.
  21. Be warned, though, that if you enter the target's SOI at high warp settings, your projected path may suddenly jump many kilometers from where you so carefully arranged it. Slow down to 10x or less for SOI transitions.
  22. Sometimes vessels left in very low orbits simply disappear, even if the orbit doesn't pass below the terrain. The next time you check that ship, it might not be there.
