I agree. It feels a lot more ambitious/risky than other crew dragon flights. A lot could go wrong. Especially having the pure O2 environment in the capsule for an extended period of time, that is worrying to me. It also seems like this all came together very fast, having been announced a little over 2 years ago. And the EVA suits seemed like they just appeared out of the blue. But I suppose fortune favors the bold, and the Dragon flights so far have been very successful.

Reddit and Discord both have very different formats than these bulletin board style forums that really change the usefulness. You don't see modders being able to have their own page/thread on Reddit/Discord, and if they do it lasts only minutes or hours. Not to mention Discord isn't search indexed on like Google. I think something like Discourse or the federated Lemmy with lemmybb frontend would both be good options. Hosting/server costs would be the big queston, but I have seen on the fediverse with Mastodon and Lemmy that volunteer hosted/moderated communities are practical and operate ok. I currently host a mastodon server on my own server, and if there's any way I could help with a community run alternative to the forums I'd be happy to contribute technical know-how/server space (though my little server probably can't handle this entire operation )

I think it was unclear in my original reply, I don't mean making a forum with all the old posts, I get that's legally impossible. I just mean an unofficial fresh forum that we can keep posting in in the event forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com goes down. That would be a separate project from archiving the old one, I see that there was discussion of having alternatives to keep posting on earlier in this thread. I assume IA does not have a way to continue an active forum.

So on the preserving-an-active-forum side of things, maybe we could do a self-hosted alternative. The fediverse has become very popular in the past few years with the whole twitter/X happenings, and that is a +1 million user network ran almost exclusively by volunteers and non-for-profits. There’s a Reddit equivalent called “Lemmy”, and there’s an alternate front-end for Lemmy that makes it look like an old school forum called “lemmybb”. Maybe that could be a promising avenue if things go south here? Reddit’s interface/algorithim just isn’t very friendly to mod development since old threads sink to oblivion after a few days, no matter how active they are, and things like the “What are you doing in KSP today” thread just isn’t possible on Reddit. There’s also “discourse” (not to be confused with Discord) that’s a similar type of software.

Honestly, I think instead of spending millions of dollars and hundreds of person-hours getting together a legal team to broker a deal to buy the "Kerbal Space Program" IP from Take Two, it would be better if the community started a differently-branded spiritual successor to KSP2 a la Juno: New Origins. Sure, you could get the source code from TakeTwo, but whatever money/time is spent on that would be better spent developing Schmerbal Space Project. Doing a Kickstarter to get the IP would be wasting millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to get source code for an unfinished game and the right to name it "Kerbal Space Program".

Space Shuttle Armstrong carries Jedediah and Valentina Kerman on the STS-1a/b flight Full Imgur album of the mission: https://imgur.com/a/RNnBtB9 I completed STS-1a/b with my new Armstrong-class shuttle. Jeb and Val succesfully carried the fuel pod to a circular 157km orbit with an error of only 30m, and safely returned to the island airfield. The shuttle is almost completely stock, except for a few parts for the Kerbalism mod. I used some other mods (mainly Trajectories) to assist with flying, but aside from that I believe this would qualify as a stock flight per the rules.

I'm running a 1.9 install with EVE, AVP, Kerbalism, Restock, Kerbal Construction Time, and a few others, and when I open a sandbox save, the VAB, SPH, and tracking station will not open, and trying to load something onto the pad does nothing either. The only building that works is the Astronaut complex. The water is also missing from around the Space Center and I can not pan the camera (though I can zoom it?). I had an issue installing Kerbalism where I forgot KerbalismConfig and it threw a super nasty error, but I installed that and now it gets past that error. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Really would appreciate some help, I've been wanting to play some KSP and have been trying to get this game to work to no avail. Modding is getting really tricky these days it seems.

Ope that fixed it, thank you

Hey uh I just had this happen so here you go: https://imgur.com/a/F0bvYf4 I can't find the log in my install so lmk how to do that

My biggest wish would be C418 to do the music for the game

Okay, I have come to realize I've probably been doing something stupid for years. Do I need to keep every different version of MM that comes with individual mods, or do I just need the latest version? I have like five different versions of MM (i.e. MM 3.1.0 - 4.0.2) in my GameData folder and basically I'm wondering if I can delete all of them aside from 4.0.2 and it be fine.

Nope, back from a 1 year lurking binge. @The Minmus Derp perhaps? I can't believe this thread is still running...

Why isn't this titled "Laythe Stage Capitalism"?

Yep! @0111narwhalz?
