  1. I will probably never use multiplayer. Multiple star systems would benefit me more.
  2. I think that the shape on this page is very good. The round shape fits in easily with other parts already, and the design is original. I would certainly fly it as is
  3. Jebediah Kerman volunteers his services to test the new TAC life support in the time-tested Eurobird Shuttle. He claims "Kerbin Fever" (similar to cabin fever for humans) as the cause for his insistence on going.
  4. ....I swear I did that 7 times last night...I do it tonight and it works first time...lol. Thanks man.
  5. I have tried to get these alternate textures going for about 2 hours now and I've given up. Can anyone help me with the filestructure? What am I supposed to do? I am trying to install the textures from jfjohnny. I have tried looking around in the forums but to no avail.
  6. Hmm. The engine bells look like they are on fire (as if fire is surrounding them). Is this an optical illusion?
  7. Hmm. I'm of two minds about this. For the poll, I put that KSP has the reputation that it deserves. It's an amazing game, and I'll state my personal pros and cons below. Pros: -No game like it. It fills a niche where there was nothing before. This simple fact is inspiring. -Addicting. The open nature of the game allows for endless fun. -Frickin' rockets man! -Educational factor is admirable. Cons: -Objectively shallow gameplay. Once you learn how to get to other bodies, the developer-created gameplay stops cold. -Developers' focus on new players' wants. This isn't a bad thing per se, but it leaves large portions of the playerbase starved for content. -There is no game like it. Lack of competition leads to lack of variety and monopoly in game experience. Harv has the last word on (Newtonian) space games atm. With both in mind, there is no way that KSP would deserves LESS hype in my opinion. It's the game that I've played the most in my life. EDIT: WoW takes that cake for me actually. 1500+
  8. This part is completely superfluous with the crewtank from the stock game, and the IVA is the same. Good part, but it does not do anything different.
  9. I finally got the first iteration of my vertical base up and running!
  10. Just imagine going interstellar with this mod
  11. I think that a (modded) lifter should be 15 parts or less and be able to lift up to 10 tons to Keosynchronous orbit (or something close). Since the initial release won't have SRBs, I think that's a good goal. My standard 2.5m lifter has 1.25m SRBs and can take my payloads anywhere in the Kerbin SOI, with room to spare. About 5500 delta-v (with FAR) will achieve this. Without SRBs, Keosynch is a good goal (imo). The rocket is a Russian rocket, whose name happens to be Zenit, and NOT the English word "Zenith."
  12. In general, I don't do Apollo-style missions in Kerbin's SOI. It's a waste of time. I also use the dragon, though. If I don't use a craft with a heatshield, then I go and get a craft with a heatshield.
  13. A good idea at that! It has been communicated that the developers of KSP prefer that the game experience be very unplanned, seat-of-the-pants gameplay, without planning or numbers. While I disagree with this vehemently, the Devs won't like this idea
  14. I hate debris. I just set it to zero and terminate anything else that I am done with. To the OP, the idea is destructive and creates more debris than it gets rid of. Sending a deorbit tug is the least destructive idea, but going to space is so expensive.
  15. I think that more features in general would be desirable. Longer runways, runways in different orientations, and runways in different places around the globe would be great!
  16. Yea...check out ScanSat. It's been out for a while and it allows for you to collect science based on maps. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55832-PLUGIN-PARTS-0-23-SCANsat-terrain-mapping Also, that was kind of a necropost. This conversation ended months ago.
  17. Well the rules that I follow are these: Don't make it larger than it has to be, and don't make more trips than you have to make. Since it's your first time, you should go with a medium-sized or smaller ship. Entire space stations will get you in trouble. Try this: A mothership and a lander that you can use for planetary operations. If you choose duna, then you can land with practically no fuel, and dock with your ship after ascent. After return to Kerbin, you can simply aerobrake and return to the surface. Try that!
  18. Well thanks! I figured that the kerbals needed a lot of room
  19. My finest Mission to Duna, although the mission was a failure. My most ambitious mission to Jool in 0.19. This mission was wiped out by a terrible bug that eliminated all of the craft in my solar system.
  20. Should inadvertent and malicious errors in operation be fixed? Yes.
  21. As a person that uses many mods, I have always had multiple versions of KSP. The variety of different mods and play styles associated with them (or not having them) sometimes means having different versions of KSP. I wanted to bounce an idea off of the KSP community. Would a minecraft-style launcher with the ability to choose different (customizable) flavors of KSP be a good idea? Should mods ever be manageable from a launcher/in game?
