  1. I uninstalled this mod about a month ago, but in the debug menu I get the following error: [Error]: Cannot find a Module of typename 'TacLifeSupport' [Error]: ScenarioModule is null. This may have to do with the toolbar plugin as well, but I'm not sure. Can anyone help?
  2. I think this will be an amazing feature once it is implemented. It will make me think about the craft that I design and not be so wasteful! A spacecraft earned is a spacecraft valued.
  3. Shuttles were NEVER meant to go that far. The shuttles were meant to go to Low Earth Orbit - well below geostationary height. Any higher, and the return speeds would be too high for the shuttle to survive. In KSP, we can consider LKO to be about 500km. Even as an experienced shuttle builder, LKO is as far as I go. Any farther, and I turn to traditional designs. Your comment about geostationary shuttles is not a very strong argument against shuttles, nor is it a reasonable expectation.
  4. There are two kinds of people that don't use shuttles: 1. Those who can't build one. 2. Those who are pragmatic enough to realize that a shuttle is a rube goldberg (for now). I am not either of those people. Even realizing that there is very little practical reason to build a shuttle, I still fly them all the time. As an endgame player, I have built more rockets than I care to admit. They are boring, easy, and not reusable. The ascent is the same, and I ended up tending to mechjeb more often than actually playing the game. Building my shuttles allowed me to both have the engineering challenge I was looking for and involve me in the process of flight much more than I had ever been. Oh, and who says shuttles are difficult to build? You just have to think outside of the box (and maybe use a plugin or two)! I suspect that once the economy becomes a thing, shuttles will start to spring up in droves. Eurobird: Ursa Shuttle:
  5. My current goal is to build a special type of base, so I will recommend that you build a special type of base. I won't dictate what stipulation you put on your base, but I will forbid you from doing a couple of things: 1. A bunch of modules landed next to each other is NOT a base! 2. Horizontal sprawl is prohibited. Have fun! EDIT: That was post number 700 for me!
  6. To the OP: Sorry they disappointed you lol. There may be something on tuesday, but don't get your hopes up.
  7. For a game like KSP, moving around on a surface the size of Minmus via ground methods is perfect. Any larger, and aircraft/rockets are required to stave off the incredible boredom of getting around. In a normal sandbox, at maximum I would like an area the size of a large city to move around in. Any larger is unusable and tedious. Minecraft is somewhat of an exception to this, because of natural resources and biomes. If I can teleport/fast travel, that greatly increases my tolerance for excessive world size.
  8. Always leave the scale at one. If you want to change the scale of the part, add the line: rescaleFactor = x Where "x" is the new scale of the part. For example: rescaleFactor = 0.5 would reduce the size of the part by half. Hope this helps!
  9. I think this mod would be perfect if it were a simple 2D outline of the ship. The extra functionality included with the mod is SUPER cool though
  10. Maybe I'm terrible at math, but 5.4 * 10^8 kg is ~260k Metric tons, and only 135k "normal" tons. Still immensely heavy, but workable. Also, it stands to reason that the composition of the asteroid would also affect the weight of the object.
  11. Umm...I just downloaded this pack, and half of the parts are missing. I only see the hublet and the limbs. Nothing else. Help!
  12. Buckadingdongs..has a nice ring to it...get it?
  13. It's a RemoteTech error. Your ship was duplicated inside of itself, and when the physics were enabled after loading, KSP pooped its pants. I call it the Nightcrawler syndrome.
  14. Well I was in docking mode and something staged when it wasn't supposed to...that was pretty annoying.
  15. What a beauty!! I love the new wings! Shuttles can be frustrating, but they are a joy to operate, and offer the best of both worlds. Welcome to the club! A Shuttlebug is born everyday
  16. NOT NASA, but a cool mini shuttle nonetheless.
  17. The single largest issue that I have with manned rovers is the delivery system. I can't find an elegant system to deliver a rover. If someone could create a system to deliver a rover to the surface of a celestial body, I would be incredibly grateful.
  18. I noticed this, I just never mentioned it. Glad to know I'm not insane.
  19. Look into a mod called DavonTC. It works for 0.23 and I'm currently using it for my shuttles. Works like a charm.
  20. The mod's author hasn't been heard from in awhile (several weeks as a conservative estimate). I have full faith in Bac9, but don't hold your breath that any mod author will bring an update. Also, you don't have to wait for Bac9 to update to play in 0.23. Donwload the latest version of the plugins, and everything will work.
  21. Thing about the name is that the unofficial name for the kerbal sun is Kerbol.
  22. The largest problem with your design is the wings. The wingspan is simply too long to be realistic and greatly affect performance. Download PWings and design a custom wing. If you don't wanna do that, then get rid of the outermost wing section. You don't need that much lift for such a small shuttle, especially at the approach speeds that you will be reaching. Your SRBs are too large for such a small shuttle. It's inefficient, but if it works then there's not much to complain about lol. Also, build your lift systems in the VAB and launch from the launchpad. The symmetry thing is much more important than you think. Hope this helps!
  23. Firstly, welcome to the forums! I think your station looks excellent. Now that mechjeb has shown you how to dock, you should try to master it yourself. It really is a great skill to learn and will open doors for you. great station, and keep up to good work!
