In my personal experience, artifacts and graphical errors like that are NOT caused by software. I had those problems when my card was starting to go kaput, and was overheating. KSP used to crash on my old 4850, but since upgrading (and even with GeForce experience), I haven't had a single issue. Look into: 1. Getting rid of the program. 2. Buying a new GFX card. Also, some unsolicited advice: GFX cards are powerful enough that you can buy one and get excellent performance without added complexity or thermal issues. You might consider buying a single 760ti (preferably Twin Frozr) to do the job.

Well I ask myself a series of questions: 1. What do I want to do? 2. Do I have a craft that can do this? 3. SPH or VAB? 4. Reusable? 5. Is this even sane? These questions allow me to start the process of completing the mission. I have builder's block right now so there isn't much being done lol.

My main hangouts for this forum are General Discussion and Addons. Sometimes I go to the spacecraft exchange to check out other people's crafts. I always build my own craft, so I don't download.

The Main Problem With Kerbal Space Program Is....
SkyHook replied to NeoMorph's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yea. I am approaching 900 hours by my own estimation, and the challenges that can be completed exceed my boredom! This game is as big (or as small) as you want it to be, and I love that! New content can only enhance the game. I am truly addicted to mods, and love their integration and enhancement. -
Ranting about "Kerbalnaughts" and the K syndrome.

Ahh, the nostalgia! I spent 4 years of my life there! -
The amazingness of this quote cannot be quantified.

Many thanks! -
[0.23]asmi's ECLSS Mod (current version - 1.0.15) - Life Support Mod
SkyHook replied to asmi's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So is it me, or does this mod seem to be a little too hardcore? With 700 units of oxygen, my crew of two is about to die after 2 days of being out of atmosphere, even with CO2 scrubbers. Anyone else think the mode needs to be balanced a bit more? Even the apollo crew had enough oxygen to survive for almost two weeks. My craft is even larger than that. -
Kekels....it's a good pun, but not too catchy I think.
-
Now that I think about it, Kerbals love snacks so much, they can use Chips as their currency!
-
OK it's pretty much decided now lol
-
What do you think KSP's currency should be? Maybe we can influence the game somehow. I'll start by saying it should be Kash. Sound off in the comments! OP's favorites so far: "Kash Money" by regex "Bux" by astropapi1 "Kwid" by Pineapple Frenzy "Money" by DisarmingBaton5 "Funds" by Caelib

Whatever happened to the old Launch tower?
SkyHook replied to GalaxiesFinestToday's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The old launch tower had a charm of its own, but in the end, it was just in the way. There is a mod by the name of FASA whose parts include a launch tower that is like a decoupler. You can even fill your ship with kerbals from it! They can actually walk across! Here's a link: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24867-%28-23%29-FASA-3-70-Launch-Towers-and-Explorer-1%21%21%21-1-21-14 EDIT: Ninja'd by G'th! -

SkyHook replied to Cilph's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Seriously!? I can't even rename my probe with no connection!? Edit: I confirm the vessel duplication bug. -
You are so helpful these days man! Friend request inc.
-
Ok....where did that tower on the side of your rocket come from? I NEED IT.
-
Wow. I just started self teaching in C#, else I would certainly apply!

[0.90] Procedural Dynamics - Procedural Wing 0.9.3 Dec 24
SkyHook replied to DYJ's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This could have been caused by many things. FAR recently added lifting body support, which certainly changes how shuttles react to reentry. My own shuttle WILL flip over if I deviate from the prograde vector by more than 10 degrees. Also, empty shuttles are more prone to flip over suring reentry, due to balance and drag issues. I do not think that PWings has anything to do with the issues that I just discussed. -
I was just about to ask you about that! I plan on doing a circumnavigation myself. I haven't decided on whether or not to fly, but I have decided to visit all of the anomalies. To the OP, travel by sea, and aim for 50+ m/s. Your life will be much better for it! Oh, and please consider some mods. They make these voyages viable.

So...using the latest version of mechjeb, my craft overcontrols itself when using the ascent autopilot. It uses full control surface deflection and engine gimbal to correct any deviations in trajectory, wobbling back and forth violently. This is very reminiscent of the old SAS. I know that the problems lies with mechjeb, as using simple SAS causes normal behavior. Is there any way to stop mechjeb from doing this? I have attached some photos of the craft:
-
I just downloaded these engines for the first time, and a I must say that you all did a great job. I noticed that these engines seem to be VERY powerful for their size (especially the smaller ones). Any rationale for the rated thrust of the engines?
-
I learned pretty early NEVER to stop or alter what I am doing in the game because of an impending update. Odds are that you will have less fun and the update is coming much later than you think it is. I am very excited to see how the economy will work, however. My shuttles will finally have a use!
-
Could not have said it better myself. I cannot tell you how many times I have exited the atmosphere and I enjoy watching it almost as much as I do flying it. Besides, my craft only become more fickle and require exacting flight. I am a builder and there is nothing like when a plan comes together! That said, mechjeb shouldn't be a substitute for lack of skillset. That leads to lithobraking and being lost in space

Well I have never been afraid to leave kerbin, just afraid to miss my planetary intercept! Now THAT is the scary part!
