1. I was able to see the rocket from my house
2. I wonder if changing the scale height or making the atmosphere higher will accomplish the same results of keeping DV-to-Orbit as nerfing engines. Nerfing engines will not increase the dv to orbit, rather, will make getting to any given dv harder do with said merged engines. However, space planes are comparatively easier to make without engine nerf (if FAR is anything go by) so i can see jet engines getting the nerf bat regardless.
3. Please, let us not derail OPs topic here. If you wish to discuss the merits of the F-35, please do so in the space lounge. Thanksh
4. Dude, I'm tearing up FOR you man. This is a wonderful, wonderful gift!
5. Welcome to KSP! We have snacks in the pantries:D
6. "Don't forget your Tuna, when you are on your way to Duna " I tried ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
7. I'm a moderator, part of the joke, and have NO IDEA what is going on xD
8. Heh, yeh, I figured it out once I realized what the solar panels were doing . I wanted to build a little door that opens and closes on the APC. However, I decided that it wasn't really all that nescessary so I sumarily abandoned that approach. Still, wonderful little hinge you have discovered here. I assume it would have many, many different uses, just none that I would think of using atm.
9. and here I was, thinking i was awesome for making what I made ;_;
10. I built a transport vehicle, a transport helicopter, and I landed on the VAB Today was a good day.
11. Trying to make a transport helicopter that can transport a vehicle
12. I don't undestand how you can get the parts on both sides like that. I am thinking of using something similar for my own design. Edit: So I was able to replicate your hinge; now I just need to find a way to give it more power and I am good to go!
13. 0/10 not a joke Three men are stranded in a desert and a Genie appears to them. He allows the men one wish. One of the men asks for a car door. The other men are angry and ask him "Why did you get a car door?!" the man responds "So that when it gets hot, we can roll down the window."
14. Here's the code Spoilered stuff Here's the results Spoilered stuff
15. Are you talking about a mod? A Space Station? Either way, I am going to move this to Gameplay questions
16. Solamente puedo respondedle la primera pregunta. Mientras que estés mas alto de 70 kilómetros, no se caerá la orbita
17. On second thought, this thread has already gone off rails. I tried to get it back on rails but I think it is obvious that this has become no different than a chat room at this point. I'll give it a lock.
18. I don't think the conclusion nescessarily stems from the premises; "The sheer size and scope and popluary of the mod scene and the kinds of mods that are popular" does NOT strongly suggest the game is childish. It MAY suggest that, just as it MAY suggest a whole host of other things. As a counter point to your above statement, he also could make a game for himself, his own, selfish, bad version of KSP AND sell it too. Likewise, bad purchasers could purchase his crappy product and complain about it not being to their liking; they could also make their OWN version of KSP as well. As for the reason for no procedural asteroids, planets, etc. I kinda agree with Harvester, and many others would agree too. It's NOT a bull excuse, it is a decision being made for the game. It may not be to your liking; that's fine, but don't think that just because something is not to your liking it means it is bad overall. I would again question the conclusion coming from your premises. How does one measure "passion"? Does Harvester have a right to "passion" over something that is not his? If so, what subset of KSP players should he be passionate about? The game slowing down is nothing more than what he mentioned was the case; as a project increases one starts getting into diminishing returns territory.KSP is Harvester's Life's work until now. Whether this is something we care about ourselves is a completely different story; whether we like it or not is irrelevant to the points you are making. You have no proof of any of the claims you have made and yet come out with these conclusions that only barely follow the premises; as a rule of thumb, if a premise can support multiple conclusions, then you either need more premeses, or the conclusion does not nescessarily follow.
19. Okay, I am going to temporarily lock this thread because it is just spiraling out of control. Edit: I honestly have no idea what's going on in this thread; y'all have a way of spiraling things out of control xD. It seems things have gotten a bit heated but I haven't really seen any harrasment or rule breaking... yet. Please keep it that way. I'm going to leave this thread closed until 4:00 UTC 4:00 England Time(forgot what it is called)(I unforgot what it's called). By then, I hope we can get our nerves under control and continue the discusion. Thanks! Edit: Reopening this thread, consequently
20. I would like to point something out, something that is common to most online discussions and, indeed, real life discussions too. This thread itself is an example of how flame wars arise and how difficult it is to moderate. We've had a few posts here in this thread itself that have been derailments, troll posts (at least, by my count) personal arguments, flame bait, "your argument is a fallacy; no your argument of my argument being a fallacy is a fallacy" fallacies, Red Herrings, Strawmen, Slippery Slopes, assumptions with no bases, conclusions with no bases, insults, and over gerneralizations (including this post itself). I would like to point out, as others have in this thread, we take a LOT of consideration for our moderation actions; we discuss almost every action we take. We stand on every political and ideological spectrum you can think of (I invited our moderators to take an ideological test to see where we stand; we ranged from very Free Market, Hands Off, Guvmint and all forms of Control are evil [me], to very Control oriented, Socialist, Free Speech isn't always great, etc. types) I invited our moderators to take a personality test, again for my own amusement; I think most of us were INTJ, with like 1 INFJ, and INTP (Me) My purpose for bringing this up is because I understand that it may seem we make posts in isolation; some of us are more active than others; some of us sound more authoritarian (that's because some of us ARE more authoritarian); some of us are more legalistic; some of us are more talkative than others; some of us interpret rules more loosley then others; some of us are more passionate about our view points, etc. Indeed, believe it or not, we are not automatons handling out bans, closing threads, and shooting down discussions left and right; we only have one extra reponsibility to other forum goers, that is, to enforce the rules. We don't need to agree with rules; we don't need to like them. In fact, we've had a few discussions on what rules need to be on, how to present them, even the wording; what the punishments should be, how lenient/strong to be. Heck, there are rules I don't like myself, but you know what? I follow it because it is the written contract of posting on these forums. If I want to participate, I have to follow. If I want to be accepted into the fold, as it were, I have to follow the social contract as well. This takes more time to develop but it is the same. TL;DR Massive off-topic post with little value to the discussion at hand Also, please let's try to keep the discussion of political matters off of here please
