  1. I'd do it but I'm too lazy and you guys seem to like it. Anyone fancy making the Star Wars Rebel and Imperial flags?
  2. Right-clicking didn't work for me. Seemed to work while holding Alt. I might just be crazy.
  3. So in the action group menu: When this comes up, you can click any part of the ship, and if it has actions it can perform, they'll show up here. Custom01 through Custom10 are number keys 1-0 on your keyboard. I like to assign solar panels and the like to these. Additionally, all parts that were placed in symmetry mode are automatically selected in the Action Groups dialogue once one is selected. Here, I've selected my tri-symmetry placed solar panels on my Mars One unit. In the next screenshot, I've assigned "Toggle Panels" to Custom01, meaning when I press "1" on my keyboard, it will open or close all three panels depending on their position. Again, objects placed with symmetry on will all be selected at the same time in the action groups dialogue. Non-symmetrical items have to be selected and assigned one-by-one.
  4. Try a higher orbit. 100KM should be high enough for MechJeb to figure out, but if it's too low, it won't land properly. At least that was the case with older versions of MechJeb. I would try 150-200KM and see if that works. And is it just spinning forever, and you're sure it's not just aligning itself on a node for a future burn?
  5. There are some animation bugs with control surfaces that don't actually effect your flight. If you're stuck on the runway, try moving your wheels closer to the center of gravity and make sure your center of lift is in a good spot. I'm guessing it doesn't actually have anything to do with the elevators glitching out.
  6. Delta-v is a number representing how much velocity your ship can produce, to put it simply. For reference, an ascent profile with 4000-5000 delta-v is required to orbit Kerbin, and 700-800 is needed to intercept the Mun, with 200-800 more to circularize and land, depending on how you do it.
  7. I don't have the demo and didn't even know it had prebuilts, hah! I don't know about the Kerbal 5, but I'm sure it's at least orbit-capable. I have no clue about Mun-capable. Mind posting a screenshot of it? I have a well-received guide on Steam that details how I personally learned how to get to the moon thanks to the help at the forums here. You CAN fly straight to the moon, but it's difficult and you need to know precisely when to launch, etc. The way I learned it is by first achieving Kerbin orbit, and waiting for the moon to appear on the horizon of the planet, and then burning prograde (the yellow circle on the navball) until you have an intercept on your map screen.
  8. Eh, I don't really do return missions, so I might not even know what I'm talking about. Just considering than in my experience, huge designs don't work very well. I used to make ENORMOUS rockets just to get to Duna until I really figured out what I was doing and was able to scale them down significantly. Also, are you allowing refuels? I'd park refuel rigs everywhere I stop in orbit and try to rendezvous with them and see if that helps.
  9. Not sure it's the same thing as what you're mentioning, but does this suit your fancy?
  10. Sweet mother of Kerbol that thing is terrifying. I think you might be over-thinking it. Also this should probably be in the how-to forum ;D
  11. Let me get this straight. You're packing a GTX 570 and a VelociRaptor with super slow DDR2 RAM and a C2Duo E8400? All of my wat. I'm also running a 570/VelociRaptor but with a 3570K and 12GB of DDR3. Sub-50-second loadtimes with tons of mods.

I tend not to visit outer planets anymore because I'm so impatient. Last I counted, a Jool travel took six minutes at max time warp. A next-level TW setting would be nice, yes. Also makes waiting for phase angles a pain in the butt.
  13. That thing looks like farmer John inherited some weird stuff and though it would be cool to send his grain silos into space.
  14. go home veigar you are drunk Also, I just imagine it as "Ker-ball" or "Curve-ball" without the "ve".
  15. Isn't the point of testing to find out if something operates properly? Cheats kind of ruin that, don't you think? Also debug menu is now Alt + F12, as Trux stated.
  16. The game has a screenshot function.
  17. Not that I care, but some sort of notification that my thread was moved would have been nice, or at least a ghost in the forum it was in.
  18. I raged like an arse at this game for several days and kept having to come back to it to understand it. It takes a lot of getting used to. It is, if you will, an acquired taste. But I got used to it and love it now. It's one of the major contributors toward my decision to go into astronomy.
  19. This is where growing up as a save-scummer comes in handy. I've caught myself hitting "end flight" a few times. Sometimes, though, I'm lucky enough to have made a quicksave right before I was dumb enough to do it.
  20. Who is responsible for this nonsense?! ;_;
  21. It's Unity3D. I think I record somewhere in the low hundreds at 1080p. You only need 30 for youtube anyway.
  22. This. What people seem to miss when they consider the physics in this game is the scale. From what I remember, Kerbin only has a diameter of 600,000 meters (6KM), while Earth has a diameter of 12,742KM. And Kerbin is something like 0.0089 Earth masses. Quite a big difference. Also, weight is only relevant to gravity. Maybe stuff weighs more on Kerbin because VIDYA GAME PHYSICS
