How to build CSM/LM rocket
Aphox replied to Pawelk198604's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Right, like I said, I just threw it together in a minute. Didn't plan any of the other things. F1 takes in-game screenshots and puts them under \Screenshots in your install directory. F2 disables the HUD while in flight for more cinematic shots. F3 opens your flight log (thanks, Supernovy), and F4 disables the ship markers in flight, which I think F2 should also do, but hey. I've built quite a few CSMs and like to model them directly after the Apollo CSM so they end up looking pretty generic. The LM is a bit more difficult in authenticity as you can see. Fitting appropriate amounts of fuel in small areas is nigh impossible in KSP due to the clipping restrictions (I don't like to use part clipping, it feels like cheating). I'm sure with some work I could come up with something better, but it would probably be a little heavier. This is why I want super thin 3m fuel tanks. Like half the height of the one I put on the LM would be awesome. Just for an ascent module like that. EDIT: with part clipping enabled I managed to slip a fueltank inside the pod. I was able to get it in without part clipping, but I had to enable to to get the rest of the LM back on. Also, don't use those lander legs. Took it out for a stability test and this happened: The ascent stage works very well on Kerbin. Not sure it can circularize Mun, but I bet with the aid of sepratrons on separation, it would. Another edit: I am just now realizing that using a normal decoupler is a horrible idea, as they only separate from one side. If you end up using a design like this, remember to use a stack separator, as they separate bi-directionally, clearing up both docking ports for use. -
How to build CSM/LM rocket

I usually use something like that. I just threw that together in a couple minutes. The ascent stage's fuel placement could use some work. That's how I usually build my CSM/LM things though. Sometimes I launch the lander separate from the CSM. -
It sounds to me like you had it as a non-Steam game added to your library and it cleared your non-Steam shortcuts. I've never heard of someone straight-up having Steam-registered games disappear from their account completely.

First of all, I don't understand why you think "stop stalking me" and "get a life" are appropriate things to say on a public forum. This isn't a closed environment, and users have free reign to post wherever they please. Second, you've made this thread three times, Payload has a point. However, I am going to have to ask him to please leave the moderating to the moderators. This thread will be closed to prevent any arguments. If you still need help, please use the duplicate thread that was moved here in the first place. My mistake. This has been made four times and was, in fact, answered the first time, here. Please utilize the forum's built-in subscription manager to find threads that you've made in the past before reposting them.

That escalated quickly. Congrats on surviving though. And taking a plane there as your first mission. Way better than I did.

Scream jibberish into a large, industrial fan. I imagine that's what it would sound like. All those vibrations and a hint of "I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT"

Welcome, Kevo! I look at myself as a pretty skilled player at this point, but I'll tell you, I was pretty dang stupid when I started out. I ragequit KSP several times and slowly came back to it each time wanting to learn it. It took about a month before I really figured it out. It didn't help that there were no tutorials, but hey. Speaking of, we have a huge tutorials section with lots of helpful information (I've even made some myself!), I advise taking a look there. It's under How-To's in General. I think we were all pretty stupid at one point.

how do I get my joystick to work in game?
Aphox replied to wfirebaugh's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Your stick and throttle have to be set under "axis controls" on staging. Buttons go under "Ship". You may have to invert your throttle axis. I had to. -
Anyone interested in RP can look under the KSP fanworks section, where this thread is posted. We don't need more than one thread about it.

I really hope this is just a troll post.

Haven't been around the system yet, but I noticed the Mun textures are pretty wild. I'm enjoying it.
-
I wish I could respond to paradoxes.

Nice job, but was it really necessary to make an installer? Some people are extremely wary about running foreign executables. Why not just release it as a pack with the files in correct structure so users can just drag-and-drop install like other mods? If you're going to include custom made executables, it may be a good idea to include the source code so people know what they're dealing with.

Recognized the dashboard. I have the same car. First picture is kinda neat. Also, moving this to off-topic. Not really KSP-related.
-
Is that a Mazda 3?
-
Buy the game? Buy it for your friends. Buy it for your family. Buy KSP for charity.
-
Indeed. We have a post-a-flag megathread and lots of screenshot threads around. We don't really need another one.
-
Yes, in fact, we do.
-
I see your conic patch is as big as mine...

It's a shame that innocent threads keep turning into instigated flamewars like this. It was plainly stated in the OP that it was sarcasm; a joke. Opening this volley of accusations and insults was completely unnecessary. Go stand in the corner and think about what you've done, all of you.
-
Nahh, you don't have to glitch them. You just have to be REALLY creative with how and where you get them on. It's possible to have a legitimate looking 30-45KM-capable spaceplane.
-
Please, point me to these "hostile actions" that you're talking about. I'm just making a point. I wasn't aware making counterpoints in a conversation was considered hostile. A user is claiming that their product is broken, though is using third-party products that compromise its performance. See? Same thing.
-
So you mean it doesn't oscillate itself into oblivion anymore? This is wonderful news. In the past, the only way I could get my stations to stop wiggling like jello was to time warp. Forever.
-
Nothing hostile about it. I just think it's a bit ridiculous when people call something broken when they're using a modified version of it. I'm not gonna go to the Nissan dealer and tell them their truck is a piece of crap because a third-party part blew up my exhaust manifold or melted my clutch.
-
So you're complaining that the game doesn't work properly but you're playing in a heavily modified environment? Seems legit.
