Here's another one: clicking the AP and PE markers on your orbital path "pins" the value to your map screen until you click it again so you can make adjustments to your nodes without having to constantly go hover over the markers to see your changes.

If you'll notice, we're also featured in the store marquee on the front page with all the big releases like Metro and Grid 2. That kind of publicity tends to buff your numbers a bit.

To Mech-Jeb or not to Mech-Jeb, that is the question...
Aphox replied to Vostok's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I stopped using it for a while back when it was around v1.5 because of that. The landing system seemed off and liked to smash my ships into the ground, and the autopilot couldn't handle a lot of my designs and sent them into an unstoppable spin. These days, I use it for the amazing plethora of information it feeds you, along with some of the Smart A.S.S. features just to make things easier. I hand fly all of my missions sans-MechJeb before using any autopilot just to make sure it's actually a pilotable, working design. Mostly, I use autopilot to fly things that I've done several (hundred) times in the past on designs that I've hand-tested, such as orbiting or Mun transfers, just because it saves me the time and the ever-so-sarcastic feeling of "Oh, I get to do this again." -
-Steam allows you to back up copies -Steam auto updates (say goodbye to trying to log into the crashed website every time a major update is released) -Steam allows you to disable automatic updating -The game shows you the exact version you're using -There is no DRM (seriously copy and paste the game folder to your desktop or to a different computer, it works fine) I honestly don't see a reason not to use it, if you're already a Steam user. Obviously if KSP is the only game you play or you don't already have Steam, it's not really worth the extra trouble.

It never left atmo. Technically a surface vehicle, right?

Alright, that's impressive, but nothing can stop an astronaut surfing in on Robo-Dracula from the moon.
-
My sentiments exactly. Nobody's going to stop another-- nor should they attempt to-- from playing the game how they choose. An option to play the game in a different manner, however, is perfectly acceptable. I wouldn't mind seeing a "simulation mode" that enables such features.

We finally got 0.20! But what about the future?
Aphox replied to megaprime13's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Indeed, sir. I am a fool. Read it as .20.1 somehow. Carry on! (still good news!) -

Granted, but your profile is massacred in 2014. I wish I was on fire.

Granted, but the file is corrupted every time you export. I wish I had really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

Banned because I can.

Moron. And now I know why everybody is ending their post with a seizure. asfkljvfkljsvfl;'

They kept asking KSC to send more snacks, but they packed the wrong payload and hit KSC2 with a MIRV.

Primer. I only know one person that's seen it, and that's because he's the one that told me about it. It has that paradoxical sense of time travel to it, but it delves into its inherent problems and potentially universe-shattering side-effects. No, it's not scientifically accurate, and a lot of the math is made up, but the accuracy isn't the point of the movie. I'd suggest watching it more than once if you enjoy it, just to understand it better.

I could list like 75% of my steam library here.

True. Although that's way too easy. The user below me spends the majority of their time on the forums in Off-Topic and/or KSP Fan-works.

We have a stickied thread for this already.

How to "Target" Geostationary Orbits
Aphox replied to Bashkire's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Here, I found this. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/entry.php/447-Dividing-geosynchronous-orbits It wasn't long ago I was asking this very question. There are some awesome people here who helped, so hopefully I wont steer you wrong. What I do is take all four probes with me. I move to the geosynchronous orbit and circulize it. I then look at how long it takes to make a complete orbit (I use Engineer Redux but there are other ways). I divide that value by 4 (or however many probes you are launching) and then burn pro-grade until my new orbit is exactly that amount above the orbit time. Sorry, I think I'm getting confusing. As an example, if the orbit time is 4 hours, I would burn a new orbit that takes 5 hours; if the original is 6 hours, I would burn a new orbit that takes 7.5 hours, and so on. (Don't circulize this orbit, it will end up sort of egg shaped with the periapsis lying along the orbit you want) Then, I release a probe just before what ends up being the periapsis and have the probe circulize it's orbit which brings it's orbit time back down to the original amount (4 or 5 hours in this example). Then as my main ship moves through its longer orbit, I release another probe when it returns to the periapsis and follow the same steps. When done, I end up with four probes each spaced 1/4 of the whole orbit from one another. EDIT: This will work for any circular orbit. In case you don't already know, the Kerbal Wiki will give you the distance needed to orbit in a geosynchronous manner for each of the planets. -
Small, random failures would be neat as an optional setting for more of a simulation feel. Otherwise it adds nothing but inconsistency in gameplay, which I know would send a lot of people into fits of rage.

I own it. Haven't played it for more than five minutes. Didn't capture me very well when I started it up.

Oh, there is. It just requires a lot of math that nobody wants to do. -
1st touchdown on Eelloo in 0.20 for me

Congrats! You landed on the furthest reach of Kerbin. Which happens to be a large, dirty snowball. For being so small, that lander is really heavy with all those LV-Ns.
