Funny how we got that idea from a developer saying that's exactly what it would do.

A Real Pilot knows that he can sneak a file on board and modify the panel so he can push the lever further?
-
My number one question right now: Can I turn it off? Some people play this as a simulation. Some play it as an RPG. The way this "feature" has been described does not seem to appeal to many people. If it is to be, let it be as an option. (With very heavy mod support so that modders can rebuild it...) I love this idea. The post describes exactly what I want (and expected based on previous comments from the developers) to see.
-
Try that. Proper capitalization, spelling, and punctuation will help with readability and understanding.

Revision 88 / Serial number 840726 West of House You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. If we're comparing my achievements to yours, then the mods we're using matter. Otherwise, the only thing that really matters is that we're both having fun playing the way we want to. I guess if there were some sort of on-line tracking system that compared how people were doing, there would also need to be a way to track which mods were used to do what, or if it matters in multiplayer. Other than that, everyone gets to play the way they like. You have no reason to complain if I go build bases throughout the system using mechjeb, and I have no reason to complain if you putter around the Kerbin neighborhood in stock. If someone looks down on you because of the way you choose to play a game, then just smile and remember that there's someone that looks down on them for how they choose to play.
-
That depends on how old you are. Many times. Of course, in college I was more or less nocturnal.
-
I don't forget them. Mine just get damaged during launch. Which is nothing like... uh... Well, nevermind then.
-
I think they have a pretty good idea of what they plan to have in the release. They just refuse to tell the community about it for the same reason they don't mention release dates. If they announce something, and for some reason they later realize they cannot deliver X feature on Y date, a large portion of the community goes bat crap insane with rage and fury. A lot of people need to grow up and realize that not every plan works out, and sometimes other plans become possible. Squad needs to learn that no matter what they do, they're going to .... off somebody.

And version 0.2 is not the same as version 0.20. That's another common mistake I see.
-
Yup. Skip the fighters, turn the thing into a giant missile carrier. Space fighters make not much sense at all.
-
Aside from the whole concept of the carrier not making much sense in space? The original question was about landing it.
-
I didn't realize how much I'd come to rely on this mod until 0.25 came out. Fortunately, I haven't had any issues running this mod.
-
I will argue that your definition is somewhat wrong. Neither this: , this: , this: , nor this: are aircraft carriers, but all of them meet your definition. You need to account for the fact that an aircraft carrier is a vehicle specifically designed or modified for the main purpose of transporting and operating aircraft (including the launch and recovery of aircraft), and not just a vehicle that carries another vehicle to a release point.

Yeah, but the Soviets would try to make anything fly.

[old thread] Trajectories : atmospheric predictions
razark replied to Youen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I was not seeing the trajectories consistently in 0.3.1. I've done a few test flights in 0.3.1a, and not had any issues. -
If they drop off the end of that landing strip, it looks like they're going straight over the blades. Those blades provide one quarter of the lift needed to keep that thing airborne. There's going to be one hell of a downdraft over that thing, and pulling up isn't going to be an option. Of course, once the plane gets sucked through, those blades are going to be shrapnel, which means there's going to be a serious loss of lift to the carrier. At least the port lifter should be moved forward to give bolters a chance to not wreck the entire carrier.
-
How is landing a shuttle on a carrier a legitimate question?
-
Who designed that thing? From what I see, anyone that doesn't catch the wire is going to have a very bad day.
-
Can we do it? Of course. The only limiting factor is how much will it cost, and how much of the earth you are willing to strip mine for resources.
-
If you say "Well, there's no infinite regress because I say there's a prime mover", you've just defined infinite regress away. It's no longer infinite, because at some point you say "There's the beginning!" As for 0.999... being 1, it's not "just practically 1". It is 1. There's quite a few proofs of it.

You'd think someone would learn something when it happens every update.

Something that's not on a screen?

Obsession with .25, .26, updates.... Stop the madness!
razark replied to xtoro's topic in Kerbal Network
Don't worry, it means absolutely nothing. It's just for fun. Some people are having fun. No one is asking you to have fun the same way, or to wait in the same line with them. But that doesn't mean you need to complain that they are waiting in their line. -

Ice cream, Kipard, children's ice cream. The hype train is part of the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids!
