  1. Cargo dragon would have been the only vehicle before this even capable of using that, so it's not a very meaningful question.
  2. There is a NASA licensing process for reusing vehicles; SpaceX stated they could have gone through it for cargo dragon, but decided not to. It's probably too expensive for a limited number of flights.
  3. Dragon V2 can't operate in orbit independently (no solar panels as standard), and reusable capsule aren't remotely innovative. Soviet Zenit capsules were routinely reused, and they were literally the first capsule design ever built.
  4. Dream chaser doesn't have (or wouldn't have had...) a payload bay.
  5. It's more like going to predominately aeroplanes, then airships, then aeroplanes again. Winged spacecraft are an expensive dead-end, even RLV groups have abandoned them en masse.
  6. Or when They just Capitalise words Randomly mid-Sentence.
  7. For most dialects, who and whom have gone the way of thee and ye. Some people in my area still use them, but I'm not going to complain if other's don't; it's just how the language works now.
  8. It is. Orion is for BEO 'exploration' missions, this is for an LEO crew ferry.
  9. Webcast is live, but launch at the planned time is unlikely due to rainfall being above limits. It's unclear if it'll clear in the window.
  10. The video (and the original paper it's based on) depict the sun consistently trailing all of the planets as it travels in a helical path; this would require their orbits to be centred well away from the sun. Watch the video and follow one of the planets relative to the sun; it's not circular at all.
  11. What's the point in having one capsule and a lifting body do the same job?
  12. SNC aren't alone in their bid. Do you know who's actually physically building dream chaser? Lockheed Martin. To suggest they have less lobbyists than SpaceX is ridiculous.
  13. Well, that was a lot less leadup than expected. SpaceX and Boeing, as I'd predicted.
  14. Boeing have completed their milestones, SNC and SpaceX haven't. They've been ahead in terms of milestones for weeks.
  15. KE=1/2MV2, so it's 1/2 X 1040 X (11822). That comes out to 7.3X108J, or 727MJ
  16. At this rate they're going to push out the apple watch for 'least surprising surprise announcement'.
  17. We've now got reports Boeing top brass are heading out to the announcement; which is a good sign for them. Lat time NASA had a live 'secret' announcement (X-33), the winning team had their top execs and were already smiling, the losers had a couple of miserable-looking mid-level staffers.
  18. I do understand; I understand you've no idea of the nature or mechanism of evolution except through bad scifi featuring 'the next stage of human evolution'.
  19. More gibberish. Evolution is a process, not a linear property you can have more or less of.
