  1. Version 1.5 for KSP 1.0.5, Kopernicus 0.6 Download Updated for Kopernicus 0.6 and KSP 1.0.5! Woohoo! Tweaked the PQS color of Duna Fixed Duna's Scaled-Space mesh. Almost finished Laythe completely. I've said this before, but it really does look a lot more like original Alternis Laythe. This is because I started the whole thing over from scratch. Tweaked atmosphere colors. Removed Kopernicus Expansions support. Happy holidays!
  2. The Moon is not at all highly reflective. And given the color of Jool's green is brighter than Mun's color, (which is a little brighter than Luna's color) I imagine that with the extra size of Jool in the laythan sky, the nights of a full Jool must be at least 16 times brighter and infinitely greener.
  3. Just make a new gif of the same scene, but taking place on Eeloo with a TextureReplacer texture that gives the kerbal a red and white space suit.
  4. Streaming now (as of 3:22): Saturn Workshop Assembly STREAM ENDED.
  5. Does anyone else have this very disruptive bug where the game crawls to <1 frame per second? It was working fine (occasionally popping up, but it eventually went away) and then it just started happening endlessly. The scatterer skies go off, wait 4 seconds, then the skies reappear, you get control for half a second, then you wait 4 more seconds as the scatterer effect bugs out again, and repeat? Sometimes it is fixable by reverting (when you get control every 4 seconds) to the VAB, but sometimes it persists almost endlessly. There doesn't seem to be any logspam. Speaking of which, HERE's the log.
  6. (I can't find where streams are supposed to go. If there is a place where it goes that is not this, moderators please move it) GregroxMun's Twitch Channel Alternate Apollo is a free-form Apollo Applications Program style sandbox game where the only rockets that are allowed are ones that are in the A4 Rocket's lineage: The Redstone, the Juno, the V-2, and of course, various Saturn-family rockets. Yesterday Earlier Today
  7. I've had this problem recently, and it is the most annoying thing ever. I can just absolutely not get the thing to close in the interstage no matter what I do. It's on a Saturn V replica, and the interstages were working fine. I open it in the editor again, and suddenly fairings just seem to stop working properly. They will close over the whole craft, just not the interstage, or for that matter anywhere on the entire craft. Even after removing and replacing all parts attached to the fairing (the tank below it, the fuel tank it's being attached to, and the stuff inside the fairing) I then tried the Stock Bugfix Modules, which include several fixes for fairings. Even that didn't help. Only after creating a totally new craft did the fairing work. Am I the only one who is thinking that perhaps the fairings are a tad bit inherently buggy and they should just be redone from scratch?
  8. Hold it, we talking about The Starship Voyager's EMH, or the Timelord from that planet of timelords? Because in my headcanon, The latter Doctor's name is Dooo-ooo-waaaaah-wah-wah-naaaah... DawawaDawawDawww Wooo-Waa-Waaaaaa.... Wa Wa Aah Wahh aahhhh, wahh ahhhh! Wawahwahnana!!!!!
  9. Looks like a Ven's RoveMate mixed with a stock one, and I don't have the problem in my game. But hey, why complain man? That's two rover cores for the price of one! EDIT: Looks like Lynnwoodm above has the same problem. Stock Mk1-2 and Ven Mk1-2 merged together. I would imagine whatever is causing it is the same between you.
  10. There is absolutely no reason why I shouldn't be able to activate an engine while it is still inside a fairing. None at all. It helps no one in any way. Rocket engines already apply a force when they are thrusting into something, starting an engine should push on the fairing and prevent any net force from being applied to the vessel. At first, it sounds like a good idea. Problem is, a lot of people like to build their own jet engines or bearings powered by rockets or jets that could be made nice and neat if packed into a fairing. Unfortunately for them, such a thing is impossible due to this mechanic. The absolute worst result of it is when you are in a time sensitive mission with an engine cluster. Your staging puts the engines in the same stage as the fairing. The fairing deploys but the engines do not activate. You can't just stop and turn each engine on individually, you'd completely flip out! You revert the flight, and try again, this time putting the rockets on a separate stage from the fairing. Fly up, ready to stage. [Spacebar]. Wait. Where's the thrust? "Can't activate engine while stowed." At this point there are three possible reactions. Sane, Insane Happy, and Insane Angry. Sane: "Darn it, I'll have to rebuild this part of the rocket." Insane Happy: "That's such a great idea. I need to go give the developers a big old high five, hug, and take them out to a fancy dinner!" Insane Angry: [Redacted] [Redacted] the [Redacted] [Redacted] game! [Redacted] all!" You then try to calm down from whichever reaction you chose, as you try to toggle the engines on. "Can't activated engines whi--" At this point your previous response is repeated except an order of magnitude larger. This may involve a decidedly frustrated sigh, temporarily converting your room into a dance party, or breaking one or more limbs. At this point you close the game out of frustration, excitement, or total and complete burning rage, and write a post on the forum either complaining to, congratulating and thanking, or murdering whoever it was who wrote that bit of rocket-blocking code. EDIT: After having calmed down, I want to just say that some of what I've said is unfairly bent due to me still not having been calmed down enough.
  11. Okay, now that 1.9 is officially released, it's time to share my thoughts. Overall, I do love it, as always I have. But there are a few things I'd like to address, being the (hopefully constructive) critic that I am. The Vector's Rotated Exhaust Bug Right. Big issue. Not exactly game breaking, but it sure as hell totally disintegrates immersion. The KS-25X Vector's exhaust is being emitted at right angles to its thrust and model. Standardized parts and how hard it is to tell them apart Unrelatedly, you may have taken the part standardization a little bit too far. It's hard to tell the difference between the Big ASAS and the thin Rockomax Decoupler. So much of the parts look so similar now. Giving the ASAS some black and white stripes back would be nice. Also, why have you made the Delta-Deluxe winglet swept back? There's plenty of swept-back winglets already, I quite liked the... you know, DELTA wing shape. (Flat at the back) The New (and old that I haven't talked about) Models, and how good they are The command pods look absolutely magnificent (even though the Lander Can's flag is upside down! ) I really do love the TKS-style of capsule! Great pod indeed. It's a nice break from the grey and white parts to see that green and red coloration. I do really love the much more Porkjet-Style textures for many parts (even though that thing I said above about some parts looking a little too similar) and hope that Porkjet can match this standard of quality when it comes time to revamp the rocket parts . The Mainsail, 0.25, and 1.0 Another thing that is sort of ironic. I was one of the people who suggested that the Mainsail ought to be remodeled from the F-1B Engine to something else since it (when the change was suggested) didn't have F-1B engine like stats anymore, and that it should be changed into an RS-68 or something. You then made a wonderful model for an RS-68 like engine, boat-tail and everything. Problem is, the Mainsail once again (since being rebalanced in KSP 1.0) shares similar stats with the F-1 or F-1B type of Rocket Engine. Low Isp and High Thrust, so now the model doesn't fit any more! I think it could be remodeled to resemble the original Saturn Five F-1 engine (not F-1B). Bonus points for 1.25, radially attachable connector node (like the Vector) so that it can be nice and versatile like the Vector and Revamped Skipper. EDIT: NathanKell brings up the point that the Mainsail is almost as efficient as the Vector. So I guess the efficiency basis argument doesn't make much sense when comparing the KS-25 to the RS-25. A Part Request A high thrust 1.25m level engine. A part that has similar TWR to 2.5m parts. Not anything as powerful as a Mainsail or Vector, but something with 450kN instead of 215 kN would be nice. Fill in the power gap. This might be a place to either thrown in a standalone Twin Boar F-1B Engine or to repurpose the RS-68+BoatTail model (if you choose to do the above Mainsail re-re-revamp). The LV-T15 The LV-T15, when I suggested it, was meant to be a lower thrust, very cheap, and non-throttleable liquid-fueled engine. When it was implemented, it became an easily overheatable, cheap, high thrust liquid fueled engine. I'm not sure having a higher TWR actually makes any sense for it to be a prototype. It's an earlier technology, with poor turbopumps and a combustion chamber that can not handle such high thrust. And with a proper high thrust 1.25m engine, the LV-T15 wouldn't make sense if it would be vastly inferior even in thrust. Conclusion It is of course your mod. Don't take any of these suggestions as demands by any means. They're just my thoughts on how the mod could be improved.
  12. Update 2015 Version 2 is released: Changed the Elf Space Suit textures and added Pine Trees to Eeloo. Note: The new Elf Space Suit texture is not shown in the above picture.

  14. Just take the GameData/AlternisKerbol/Sun folder and use it alone. It will be a while until I can update this. I ran into two things: depression and PQS bugs. Both of which make it difficult to update. Hopefully we will see an update before Christmas, right now I have to focus on Final Exams.
  15. Valentina got crushed when she tried to exit a badly rotated capsule. Of course, someone would have a very very very large list of horrid deaths. No one wants to be in his space program.
  16. Right. I totally agree. I don't even think the planets are incredibly dense, it's just that the universe has higher gravity. (Of course, mass is defined in the tracking station, but I think that's acceptable given the fact that it would be harder to do orbital mechanics calculations if the game told you a mass number that doesn't make sense in our universe)
  17. Of course, Kerbin still hasn't any seasons. It's just been frozen into an ice age.
  18. The nuclear reactors cause huge amounts of NullRefs. This is repeated in the log: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at ResourceBroker.ParseFlowMode (.PartResourceDefinition res, System.String flowMode) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ResourceBroker.AmountAvailable (.Part part, System.String resName, Double deltaTime, System.String flowMode) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ResourceConverter.ProcessRecipe (Double deltaTime, .ConversionRecipe recipe, .Part resPart, .PartModule resModule, Single efficiencyBonus) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at BaseConverter.FixedUpdate () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 Happens when the nuclear reactor is turned on and off.
  19. SEE HERE FOR WINTER KERBOL 2016 Download at Kerbal Stuff I know the name is kind of lame, I'm not good with coming up with mod names to be honest. Requires Kopernicus and TextureReplacer! This mod adds a few christmas/winter-holiday features to the solar system. Kerbin's ground is now totally covered in snow! Jool is now red, green, and white. (Based upon a texture made by @Felsmak) Two space suit textures: Red "Santa" Space Suit, and Green "Elf" Space Suit, based upon these suits. Eeloo now has Pine Trees! (Mostly @Thomas P.'s fault) If you want only one part of it, remove the other parts. (Remove the "Jool" or "Kerbin" section from GameData/ChristmasKerbol, and if you don't want the suit textures, remove the TextureReplacer part.)
  20. Post your Kerbalized Christmas Carols! Rudolph the Red-Nosed Spaceplane You know Saturn and Atlas and Soyuz and Redstone. You know Blackbird and Boeing and Shuttle and X-1... But do you recall The most famous spaceplane of all? Rudolph the Red-Nosed Spaceplane Had a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw it. You would even say it glowed. All of the other spaceplanes used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph enter any spaceplane Space! Then one foggy Krakenmas Eve, Jebediah came to say, Rudolph with your nose so bright, Won't you fly my sleigh tonight. Then how the spaceplanes loved him. As they thrusted forth with glee! Rudolph the Red-Nosed Spaceplane. You'll go down at KSC!
  21. I made this a while ago. I have this hung up in my room next to a poster of the original Up goer 5.
