Well man, i hate Startrek!
-
Hmm since FTL doesnt seem to be possible, it would be oneway trip for them. So the ariving ship would probably be robotic probe designed to observe and measure possibility of colonisation, and it would be probably first of manny such probes to come, or just purely scientifical research probe checking our planet just for curiosity sake. If it would be manned flight without previous unmanned probe, it would probably be colony ship of desperate refugees (who else would go without prewious recon?). Such refugees would have probably not much of a choice what to do, they would probably need to settle here, and it would be probably too much of them, and they will probably need lots of our resources to start theyr settlement here. So they would most probably not be able to tolerate us here, even if they would like to, because it is allready too much of us here, and amount of available resources is limited. They would be probably prepared (read armed) for such eventuality, so the war would be unavoidable, and as we are talking about race advanced enough to take interstelar journey, the result will be fatal for us.

Guys who hate the new SAS, i thing you have the same problem iam having with all new stuff and changes. It is called getting use to, or Figuring out how to. I bet in short time most of you will figure it out and it will work for you. I had this problem when they introduced maneuver nodes. they didnt work for me and confused me, before i figured out how they work. now i love them. I had this problem when i first time tried out mechjeb (i had to do randevouse and docking and interplanetary transfers manualy, before i figured out how to work with mech jeb, now mechjeb is doing all randevouse and docking for me allright. i still have to do some manuall interplanetary transfer trajectory adjustments, but mj is doing most of the work now.) So give it time, play with it a little, and i thing it will just get better. Iam really looking forward to when i come home from work and try it out for my self, and i bet i will have the same issues as you do, but i allso bet that i will get the hand of it.

KOCOUR replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I was using FAR but then i found out that without it i get much better game performance. So i uninstaled it. Will there be any update to make FAR less performance impact? Edit: by performance i mean FPS.- 14,073 replies

Since we seem to be only two people here who (each in his own way) cares, how it can be?

FTL is easy Turn on your Gellar field, kick the engine, and pray to the Emperor.

Interesting how people still think, that something as unimportant as english grammar still matters in international forum, where most people have english as second or maybe third language.

What does alien lifeforms breath?
KOCOUR replied to Inspector Gadget's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Well my friend, I read Scifi, a lot of it. My first Scifi book was some russian SCIFI novel composition, since then i ceased to read normal literature as it was not so interesting for me anymore. The thing is that as i love Scifi, i am avare that it is just stories, and i do not take anything of it seriously. So reading another will not make me reconsider anything, but thanks for the tip. Oh and last 15 years i participate as one of the organizators of one of the biggest science fiction, fantasy and horror convention in central europe. so you can easily call me scifi fan. -
And thats reason to stay mortal? You will never be totaly immortal, odds are that sooner or later something damage you so much that you will not even be selfaware anymore, thus practicaly dead. But i still rather take my chances and see how long ill survive, then the stupid certainity that i will not see next century.

Well i been taken bit too much to the word! Of course if you are writing storry it would probably contain living sentient creatures, probably humans, and so it will also neccesarily contain social, or political themes. Just not make those themes the main focus of the storry, and/or do not present them too much.

What would be the easiest way to OBLITERATE THE ENTIRE PLANET?
KOCOUR replied to Kerbface's topic in Science & Spaceflight
This man speaks wisdom! :-) -
Ah common chicken**** bul****. If you will be immortal, you will have unlimited time to solve any problem that will come with the immortality, even reinvent immortality for others if you would actualy care. If you refuse, you will just spend rest of your life tortured by doubts and then die. So only logical think to do, if offered immortality, is to accept.

You read too much scifi my friend. -
If someone offers me immortality, i would of course accept it. It would be stupidest thing ever to refuse.

Please dont! If you want to make films, focus on fun or nonsocial (prefarably technical) education, and avoid Social, enviromental, political, or religion themes as it was plague. Unless you aim to make fun of them. then its okay to write about them. No matter what is authors initial intention, how much objective he want to be in that, if the theme is social, political, cultural or religion, it allways ends up with "black/white point of wiev" "hippie or nazi" bull****, and it allways feels like 17yearsold wrote it.

Well i tried quite a few kinds of booster programs on various computers i had, and found out that they just doesnt work, or if they actualy work the difference is so small that its not even worth the time i invested to download and install them. Even found malvare in some of them.

I used to play stock, but after few mun missions (some succesful and some catastrophic), i started thinking about Mechjeb. Then after one painfully long and complicated manual orbital randevouse, (there was no docking implementit in game yet) i Finaly decided that stock sucs and downloaded mech jeb. since then, i tried out lots of mods, most of them useless, and as time passed i settled in few really good mods: Remotetech and kethane to give the gameplay some purpose. Mechjeb for.... well cant anymore imagine this game without it. B9 and aviation lights, because stock parts are ugly and lack colored lights. Katerpillar, firespitter and hooligan for fun. FAR and Deadly reentry for... well also fun. I have some bugs wich i thing are caused by mods not working wll together, but nothing realy serious.

What are some things men could do on the surface of mars?
KOCOUR replied to nhnifong's topic in Science & Spaceflight
First they should build base on moon, try what can do there, build up some extraterestrial experience, and then they maybe could start thinkink about mars.
