  1. So basically those smaller bodies all have similar perihelions and are more or less in the same plane, which can't be a coincidence, right?
  2. Also a thought about taking pictures of specific areas: The points of interest on the surface of a planet could be much birghter for a certain amount of time (2 hours per day/every few months aka seasonal changes/constantly birght like the white mountain spot thing on Ceres). Same for events in the sky. They could shine much brighter than other stars for a few days like some supernovae do. That way you could find them easier and have time to point your camera/telescope at it.
  3. I saw a few times a computer animation of the event and it clearly showed it's possible.
  4. I would like it if the accelerometer (now seismometer?) could record the Gees during different parts of the flight and show the actual stats and graphs that would somehow contribute to the scientific progression of the tech tree. Also same thing for other scientific instruments.
  5. For spreading the misinformation about RSS being harder than stock :<
  6. Same. I'm actually pretty happy with the game as it is, though I would still like to see implementation of some of the real-ish aspects of space flight. Talking here about things like KIS/KAS, a fun to play with LS and maybe some more procedural parts like the pWings. I'm not a hardcore (please don't yell at me, regex!) RSS guy (though I might try out that 2x scaled Kerbol system), but I think there's still some room for realistic aspects mentioned before. Other than that I find the game to be very enjoyable and think that the realism/kerbalism ratio is being balanced pretty well. At least for me. The career though... It still needs work.
  7. Fair enough. But even though I would encourage you to try it out.
  8. I didn't know there was a mod for that! Too bad it's outdated.
  9. I always design my space stations keeping in mind I might modify and repurpose them as mobile spaceships and extend their life time by doing so. If the science/contracts are done and completed I join a new module with engines to it and go Mun or Minmus to gain more science. It's way, way cheaper than building a new one, though you won't complete "Build a new station around X" with such strategy.
  10. Have you ever tried the pWings though? I think I am more of a plane guy. I actually thought the same about them and always stated they should stay as a mod, but then I installed the B9 mod and found out the pWings are far superior than the stock ones. There are so many ways in whcih they can be customized, which isn't the case with stock modular wings.
  11. The word "drag" is in qutation marks because I don't really mean actual drag here. Here's the original idea: I'm lazy, I know. Basically a date of eventual and definite reentry would be set based upon the Ap and Pe (if both are in the atmosphere). What do you think?
  12. I wish the game simulated the behaviour of vessels below 70km. The Ap/Pe could randomly decay between 50-100m per orbit, or something like that. There would be also a date in which the vessel would eventually "reenter and burn up" and be simply removed from the map view and persisten file. It would be a fun challenge if contracts could spawn such vessels and say something like "Space cowboys! We need your assistance! Go and grab that sat before [insert date here] or else it might reenter and fall on an innocent inhabitant of our beautiful planet!" Basically simplified on-rails simulation. Wouldn't have to take aerodynamic forces and shapes into account.
  13. Yeah, I guess some simple "This way up" arrow, or anything like that would be nice.
  14. A thousand times this. And not only the dV. Ap/Pe, time to Ap/Pe, TWR, vessel mass and probably some other essential stuff I forgot about.
  15. Weoooweoooweooo the internet anti-cheat police is coming. Let's derail this guys.
  16. Cool. Anyway, an X-1 cockpit would be pretty simple to model, me thinks. Just take that tiny-to-small size tank full of LF and add front windows to it. Not like I can model or anything, but would defo love to see it in the game.
  17. I was more thinking about how powerful it is compared to its size and other engines of the same class.
  18. Huh. Damn, seems like it's the best engine in the game. Weird that the TWR isn't stated on the actual engines' wiki sites.
  19. What's Vector's TWR compared to, let's say Reliant's?
  20. So they actually nailed it, but the landing leg didn't lock properly. Could that be caused by some atmospheric/flight event or did they just got unlucky?
  21. I think a possible way to deal with such issue would be a mechanic based on points scattered around a planrt's surface. The more of those invisible "dots" there are the less focused the photo is, which means you don't get that mich rep/science/whatever other resource. Think about how GTA SA dealt with taking pictures. There were those bright star things that, when focused with a camera, they revealed an icon that disapeared after taking a snapshot. Something like this except with more such "dots" on a surface of the planet/skybox. If you focused on such a point of interest and took a picture of it it would simply disappear. That would count as a high res picture and there would be no need to photograph it again.
  22. I once set up a Mun Lab and instead of doing science in it I EVA'd both kerbals and used their jetpacks to slide them around the crater the lab was in. Eventually they puffed and I had no Kerbals left : (
  23. "Not a fun idea because I can't imagine it being fun. Please, someone come up witha good camera mechanic idea so I can approve it." Jeez... Maybe you should try and come up with something that would make snapping the pics fun instead of being negative all the time. All that stuff you questioned could be easily dealt with. How would you want it to work, hm?
  24. I would like to have wheater effects, though I'm not sure how it works on IRL Venus. Also sandstorms should be random and predictable with weather sats placed around a body. That would be way cooler than just triggering it with an atmospheric entry.
