  1. I am really curious how a 2.5m booster would look like. Probably very chubby. Tiny sized SRBs would be nice to have.
  2. BTW: @tetryds are you going to check the weight of the planes with KER installed? I noticed that the stock Engineer's Report shows different mass than KER. Check the stats at the bottom ^^^^^^^
  3. OK, so since my old design doesn't work so well anymore I guess I can post it: Yep, it's a flying wing. It was a flying havoc in the previous configuration of BAD-T, but now barely turns. It got completely destroyed by a plane I built in less than 10 minutes (you can see it in the pics). The thing doesn't turn well, though it's pretty fast. I will either build it from scratch or make something more conventional. It's demotivating.
  4. So I see I'm not the only one going to have a rather unorthodox design. I will just not share the pictures of it. Not yet.
  5. I would also like to have an ability to harvest xenon from atmospheric bodies. More engines would also be nice. The only engine that I can think of and is semi realistic, and could run on xenon would be VASIMR. Though it would probably need sick amounts of power to run on full thrust. I think nuclear reactors would be needed for those.
  6. Also when you deactivate it it just gets silent. Like if there was no spinning turbine in it.
  7. I'm also in. Got my design ready and working. Will combat prove it tomorrow. My stats look something like this so far: 147 pts (heavy fighter) 6,084 kg/~6,500kg (dry/loaded) I was really working on the edge there. I had to use a full radial ore tank to add the ballast. Even though it seems like dead weight, it's pretty useful for fine tuning the CoM.
  8. Try tweaking the surface deflection slider, or the pitch one. Also checking AI's damping would be a good thing to do.
  9. Always voting Europa, because of it's potential ocean. Would be amazing to find some life there.
  10. I suggested something similar to this in the thread about adding telescopes and sky observation. A radio telescope would search the sky for pulsars/other strange signals/whatever real life radio telescopes do and you could find easter eggs. Just like the one on Duna, which is a simple pyramid with SSTV signal that can be decoded. EDIT: Also things like moon-bouncing signals and other fun stuff: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arecibo_Observatory#The_RuBisCo_Stars
  11. SOmeone enlihten me if I'm wrong, but won't JWST be able to do that? Seems like it's going to be a pretty powerful space telescope.
  12. Oh maaaaaaan... That totally ruins my previous design! I had a perfectly balanced 2 engine fighter and there's no way I can make it any heavier without increasing its size! Back to the drawing board! EDIT: By taking out the "dummy" we can either record a video or take screenshots of the fight, right? Also do we have to post the pictures of our designs in this thread? I think it would be fun to see the planes of other people and guess how they work, their weaknesess and streanghts. Kind of like on a real war. Can see a photo taken by a spy plane but can't fly it until it's captured.
  13. Oh crap. I goofed hard then. My mistake. Damn. How did I even miss that information I have no idea. I am seriously ashamed of myself now.
  14. By saying that SQUAD wanted to do something and then quoting Scott you automatically imply that he was a decisive person, or at least he knew about the inside development. What you did is either: spreading misinformation, or being informed not well enough to discuss such matters. Maybe you are the one who should pay more attention?
  15. Sounds like a highly unconfirmed rumour. Scott never was a part of SQUAD. Only a youtuber supporting it.
  16. It's a real shame bac9 isn't working with SQUAD anymore. I'm still not sure what was the reason behind him leaving. The game could benefit a lot if he got back.
  17. Did you think about specific areas being "captured"? Like when there's some outpost and when one team wins over it it becomes theirs. And the whole Kerbin could be split into some areas with landmarks and such. When one team captures it the other has to recapture. If the "home team" loses they no longer take part in the challenge and the landmark is taken by the "away team" (AKA the attackers). Also two teams only. Like Allies and the Axis. People choose their side (Team A or B + colour of the wings/other parts?). I guess that would make it less of a tournament and more like a competition between two teams. Might be interesting to watch tho.
  18. That plane looks... unusual. But who am I to judge? Cool challenge tho. Might give it a try.
  19. Looking forward to all of those who say "I actually enjoy figuring out what works and what doesn't without the dV in the stock game." Gonna be reeeeeeeeaaaaaal fun, amiriteguys? Can only hope that with KSP being released on PS4 we can finally see all the essential data making it's way into the stock. And I'm not talking about KER here. Have fun eyeballing all those ejection angles for other planets without KAC or the other planner mod thing iforgotthenameof installed.
  20. Ok, so since I can't edit the OP I'm going to post my specs here: SONY Xperia L with Android 4.2. Btw every other buttons works fine except for that one. Nvm I can actually edit it because apparently it's a different thing. Ok, so it seems sometimes saving and editing works, sometimes it doesn't. The actual hell is going on?!
  21. Yeah, it's nice and all, but ever since the black box thingie was implemented I can't save my edited posts.
  22. Huh. Maybe it's a software or hardware thing. What OS and phone/pad are you on?
  23. Am I the only one experiencing it? I have to double post because post editing is broken. Xperia L with Android 4.2
  24. I've been away from KSP for a few weeks (two to be exact) and was instead playing IL-2 1946. What I noticed is that belly landings there are way more forgiving than doing so in KSP. The plane slides on the grass if it doesn't have it's undercarriage out. And I know that you may say "Yeah, but landing a WW2 plane with plenty of lift (compared to some things built in KSP) is way easier." Yeah, maybe... But soil with grass in it should be softer (and slidier?) than a concrete runway. At least it shouldn't pop into pieces like a chopped sausage when it hits a hill with a nose at 35m/s.
