  1. Yeah, the inline cockpit is meant to look fightery. I'd rather have a full glass front cockpit. Useless during reentry, but who cares if it would look awesome. Would probably suit rovers quite well. Good front visibility is the key when going around rough terrain in something that's worth a billion dollars.
  2. Whenever I look at something like this it terrifies me. Even in games I try to avoid black holes as if getting close to one would make my computer implode, or something. No clue why.
  3. No, it's not. At least Magikarp can evolve into something. More like trading a jet plane for a card of Magikarp.
  4. That will make watching the fights even more enjoyable! Have I already said I consider this challenge to be a kind of a sport? It's like that show with robots fighting (Robot Wars?) except with planes.
  5. Ok, I get it now. It was always obvious for me I guess. Maybe it would be good to have a simple note saying that performing a single burn while still in the SOI works best, or something.
  6. How is that confusing? You just select your starting point and add things up. I seriously can not imagine any easier way of picturing it.
  7. I know the dV indicator is on the WNTS list, but once it becomes stock it would be great to include this into KSPedia. I think it's very informative and easy to understand even for a completely new player. Props to whoever created it.
  8. Ah, alright. Completely forgot about those. I guess radial supply containers would actually make sense. Though I would probably keep the supplies in hitchhikers anyway. Don't think a Stratus-V could hold much supplies (unless it's big), but definitely would be helpful to have more tanks that could store it. Maybe a Crew/Food/Mono/Ox/LF tweakable could help with that. Yeah, that actually makes sense. Closing the loop with ISRU is a better idea than just infini-food for four. Yeah, okay. I see what you mean now, but I was thinking about this as a part of the built-in life support for capsules. The kerbals come on board with their "fluids" in them and all you need is electricity to keep that water rotation. Also heat, but that would also be provided by the electricity. So I don't think it really needs that level of management just to provide drinkable water. The electricity demand should simply rise with the crew on board. After all, you don't really add much to the system and the recycler runs on EC.
  9. No, you don't. If a hitchhiker is full of supplies it shouldn't be able to hold crew. Think about how supplies are delivered to the ISS. The spacecraft docks to the station, the crew goes in, grabs the supplies and goes out. A good example: Dragon. It was meant to hold crew, but instead it holds cargo inside of the capsule. IMO additional "supplies" tanks are not needed. You should be able to repurpose what you have. I'm not against special parts with supplies in them. I just don't think they are necessary. We got plenty of different cockpits that don't really serve purpose apart from holding the crew and having IVA view. It really depends how balanced a greenhouse would be. If it's big, heavy and can produce food for only a small number of crew then you have to choose: go with a bunch of hitchhikers (with food in them) or one big and heavy greenhouse. I really need a real life example of so called "recyclers". How do they work? You throw the waste in and get some food from it? Isn't it a kind of greenhouse where you take the waste and use it as fertilizer to grow food?
  10. Wasn't it confirmed by Spitzer that it's most likely just a bunch of cold comets flying in formation?
  11. I don't want to brag, but there are at least two of my posts in this thread suggesting the same exact thing + a greenhouse for the end game/late game. And I still think it would be the best way to implement this. Simple, yet challenging.
  12. Is that some kind of prototype of Seafire or was it retrofitted with the second counter-spinning propeller after the war? It wasn't a standard and mass produced thing, was it?
  13. It's more of a scale problem than the runway itself. I say leave it as it is. Having a second north-south oriented runway with a ramp at the end on the other hand... Oooooh, yes. Yes, please.
  14. That X-1 flight is what made me sub to your channel. Would love to see some of those planes dogfight.
  15. Is there a mod that let's you create your own cockpits? I saw Scott Manley and some other people building things in RO/RSS with crew cabins that I've never seen in any mod. Or maybe the RO simply provides a large variety of them?
  16. Btw I can send you one of my (Beaufighter-ish) planes that was meant to meet all of the heavy fighter requirements. I built it mainly to test stuff. And it performs really well, though I think the mass would have to be tweaked a bit. Also can come up with some other ones and send them to you if you want. I also really want to build that super lorin now...
  17. Hah! Awesome planes everybody! You can see my flying wing in the front with the neon green leading edges and a tons of sweep. And holy crap, it took so much time to balance it out. There were at least 50 versions of it. It's performance is rather mediocre, but all I wanted to do is to prove that a pure flying wing can compete with standard monoplanes. And let's hope it does.
  18. : O I remember playin an old Java game on my flip phone with pirates, ships, smuggling and stuff like that, and I always wanted to play something similar to it except in 3D. Thanks to you I now know what I'm buying next!
  19. I really, really enjoyed the book. It was really fun to read even though it wasn't 100% scientific and realistic. Let's be honest, would anyone want to read a boring mission report without any drama in it? I wouldn't. About the film: I really like Matt Damon as an actor. He performs really well. I didn't like "Prometheus". Was fun to watch but definitely didn't have the feel of the first Alien movies. Also plot holes. OST and the special effects were spot on tho. Now you may think 'But what does "Prometheus" has to do with "The Martian?"' Same director, obviously. "The Martian" as a film didn't have the same feel as the book, which is something I was expecting after I've seen what has been done to "Prometheus". It lacked the funny parts and some things were changed. I don't mind the fact that they had to remove some events from the film, but the Pathfinder could at least get fried just like in the book. Or the storm That Watney encountered on his way. By only mentioning and showing how he puts the solar panels there and going back would take like 1 or 2 extra minutes? It was a really smart move and I feel like the whole movie was kind of stripped off all of those smart moments. The Book: 9/10 The film: OK/10
  20. Since the submissions are closed I figure I can post some of my experiments. Hope it's not considered thread polluting. Just want to say that I had a lot of fun playing with and testing all of those planes and looking forward to the next tournament.
  21. Stock wings are boring. FAR + B9 Pwings is more fun.
  22. My tiny Duna Space Station and some sort of interplanetary spacecraft segment in the background.
  23. How much cheaper the expandable modules are compared to the standard, rigid ones? Could it mean lowering the costs of modules/space stations if the tests are successful?
