  1. It's such a sad thing humanity has to actually experience a tragedy to know how to prevent it from happening again. Wish fusion was already a thing...
  2. You could use Discord. It's better than Skype and you don't have to download it.
  3. First lasers to propel the craft, then switching to big scoops scooping interstellar hydrogen, fusing it and shooting it backwards in order to propel the vessel. I don't know if interstellar space contains enough hydrogen for something like this to work, but it sounds cool and I'd go exploring and having adventures with something like that.
  4. The whole internet is freaking out about this. All I can think of is that it's just another way of observing and understanding the universe, or are there any other benefits of directly detecting gravitational waves?
  5. Is this the one that landed on solid ground (AKA the only succesful one?) or something new? I wasn't keeping the track of launches and landings recently. Ok it's the old landing. Had to write a new post because saving after editing does nothing on the mobile version of the forum. Hope those two podts get merged.
  6. The "SAVE" button in the post editing mode does nothing on mobile.
  7. As far as I remeber Michael Caine's character said that there were at least few solar sysyems they had access to and they sent a few probes to each of them. And of course, we could watch some robots walking around and pushing buttons, but would that be enjoyable? They probably wouldn't even need to walk and be stationary instead, and we could have 90 minutes of beeping and booping, flashing lights and machines talking to each other in binary. Would that be enjoyable? It was a film. Films aren't realistic if they're meant to be fun or enjoyable. I'm not going to cinema tomorrow to check if all those ballistic trajectories in Deadpool are correct.
  8. Tried to build X-47B. It didn't go well. I have no clue how to build a modern flying wing. Probably needs more sweep.
  9. I don't think simply redoing the first node would do. In my opinion it needs to split early on into at least 4 branches: Jet propulsion, Rocket propulsion, Solid rocket motors and Pods/Probe bodies. And I know that Devs kind of tried to achieve it, but placement of some parts and nodes is still ridiculous because "balancing".
  10. I'm really intrigued by the Boeing's flying wing concept and I think I might try to build my own. Just as FGF is a Messerschmit fanboy I'm more of a flying wing guy. Still need to learn a couple of things about FAR though. E: Also how is the score calculated? The OP seems to be edited and there's no way of telling how to do that.
  11. Is that something from SW? Had to google that but still no clue what it is.
  12. The biggest issue I have with the new aero model is the inverted nosecones acting as if they were facing up.
  13. The UI looks grey, old and kinda dull. I would love to actually have some light-grey/white/black themed UI. The closest thing I can think of would be the Aperture Science Center (from Portal) indoor colour scheme. Except cleaner. Basically this black and white contrast with some bright coloured accents (buttons? Staging icons?). That's all I want.
  14. I'm curious myself. I remember a long time ago SQUAD stating the parts are meant to be near future-ish.
  15. I never use that thing, because I hate it. Too heavy, ugly and the hatch is offset and it doesn't match the style of other parts. I wouldn't cry if it got remodelled after Dragon V2 instead of Apollo's module. The style of the game was always meant to be near future technology and looks, so I don't understand what's the deal with that 3-man pod. That's also a reason why I hate the argument behind adding a Gemini pod to the game. It was always meant to be near future tech. Apollo module is nowhere near that and 2.5m Dragon V2 (with 4 seats instead of 7 just so to make sure it's not OP) would make much more sense. Maybe if life support went stock it could come with water purification, air conditioning, or whatever, but we don't have that so the pod itself is just bad and useless for now.
  16. Maybe not as old as some other games in this thread, but I was six when this came out: Love it or hate it, but admit that some serious skills were required to beat this level.
  17. Actually, after a somewhat intense thought process, I think we should have a scenario creator in the game. You choose what kind of scenario you want to load, take a vessel you've built and try to perform a succesful manouver (more sandbox than sanbox?): 1. You choose a type of scenario (where on the orbit? vertical speed? horizontal speed? how high? AoA? rotation? oxygen present? time of the day?) 2. Take the vessel you want to test, or build a new one 3. Enjoy crashtesting without losing money/rep/your precious crew! (no quicksaving/limited in some other way?) So basically: Tutorials + Hyperedit.
  18. Guys, don't forget about nebulas, galaxies and other interstellar objects. There could be (at least) two types of space telescopes. One Hubble-like to observe gas clouds and galaxies and the other one (Keppler-like) to observe planets. And maybe a big one that would resemble James Webb Space Telescope, which would be an upgrade of both. That's what JWST is meant to do, right? Search for planets and look at bigger things? EDIT: Have this neat animation of a pulsar seen by Hubble (at least I think it's from Hubble)
  19. It's been suggested in the last thread of the month, but have a like anyway.
  20. I always wanted to fly a plane. I would probably find a working car, drive to the nearest airport, "steal" (if there is no one who owns the thing it's not a theft, right?) one, take-off and probably die in the process because I have no clue how to fly a modern plane. In case of succesful landing I would probably just wander around eating what a nearby supermarket may offer and be super depressed.
