  1. Well the idea is not that different from the Payload Assist Module (PAM). I think the real challenge is trying to guide it with enough precision for planetary transfer.
  2. I've seen that movie, it doesn't end well. Lots of hallucinating and self mutilations.
  3. "Moon Machine" is one of my favorite series. I would also suggest "In the Shadow of the Moon".
  4. For those of us that are older, you may need to factor in the age of the prostate in that calculation.
  5. I usually like sandbox much more, but I'm looking forward to career mode now. I have been playing for almost a year and a half now and having a direction with goals seems appealing now.
  6. Well cruise ships are popular with the elderly, there is still the issue of the expense of such massive ships. Hundred of years is still very local at 10 to 20% of light too, so many place I think will be too far for this unless you have sleeper ship technology.
  7. I always liked the Fission fragment rocket myself. It's not as fast as some of the other proposed propulsion ideas, but it looks workable with near future technology. I think generation ships are to expensive and future medical technology will make then unnecessary. They are already theorizing about DNA printers and bio-printers to make body parts. If you add that to self-replicating nano machines and artificial intelligences, why bankrupt a nation making a generation ship? Just send a robotic Garden of Eden Creation Kit on a small probe and make millions of them. More of a high tech Panspermia that allows you to target all possible stars near yours multiple times if the first attempt fails. 8. Has there been any official or semi official statements on what objects New Horizons will try to reach after Pluto?
  9. I'm tempted to wait until the hot fix 0.22.1 to down load, if it is released tomorrow.
  10. I spent a week launching and assembling this base on the Mun and then a few days later it randomly exploded. Not a single piece of it survived. I have no idea why. The Kraken still hides in the shadows......
  11. I like the plastic grocery bag as a parachute idea too. Maybe Velcro as decouplers or as docking nodes and soda straws for RCS? Styrofoam control fins?
  12. Well if it's anything like the ones I made as a kid, it will have a lot of Duck tape and black marker control panels with a broken lawn chair for the seat.
  13. OK, I've been launching Kerbals into Low Kerbin orbit and back all day. It works very well. I just need a larger launcher so I can reach the Mun. Nice job Sumghai, I'll also be using these on my next Duna Mission.
  14. This is just my own version of Apollo that I always use. It's not fancy, but it does what I need it to reliably. I use it for a crew taxi, orbital tug or a local communication relay with RemoteTech etc.
  15. Now it just needs a Siri app for the MFD display.
  16. I learned not to do retro burns too soon after dropping a stage.
  17. I noticed the problem too. When you try to click on the thumbnail or the printed name below the picture on the front page of Spaceport, the front page just reloads.
  18. Great mod, Have you considered adding Apollo style floatation bags (Those three round balls) for the SDHI Clamp-O-Tron?
  19. Great looking models. I like the gold better, but I think the silver would blend better with other game parts.
  20. Holly Captain Nemo! Do you think the bigger version could be set up to drill for Kethane on Laythe ocean bottom?
  21. I never knew that, so could you use that as a way of communication?
  22. Damn, I forgot about this. I had planned to take pictures from my house.
  23. Looks good. So are are the modular landing tanks coming back?
  24. That 2001 image is great. Can you do animation with the software you use? A 20 or 30 second loop animation of that would be hilarious.
