  1. It'd be great if you could open this mod up more to others. A file in PluginData that lets you choose rotation speed, planet, that sort of stuff, etc. PM if you want my help with the clouds of Jool. Been working on something, but it's hard when I've only got Kerbin to work with.
  2. Tanksteering means that it handles like a tank. Tank tracks can only go forward or backward. Steering a tank is done by stopping one track and moving the other.
  3. I repurposed an Earth cloud map into one to replace your main.png. Looks much better in my opinion. You can have it if you want. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23500849/main.png
  4. CG Textures is a great free resource for building textures. Might help with making some of these buildings looking a bit more detailed/varied.
  5. Why are night lights in the video white, while 5thhorseman's are like RL more yellowish?
  6. That zoomed out pic already makes it look a lot better. My worries have disappeared. Kerbin City is here:
  7. Wow, that's already coming along nicely. May I suggest putting some extra lights around that lower bay. The Kerbin City mod is situated there. Might be a nice nod to that and it's also a nice natural harbor, which would make it a attractive place to start a city. I am worried that you're going a bit crazy with the lights though. Few areas on Earth look that dense.
  8. Glad you're already thinking of the upcoming update. It's shaping up to be a great one. Some real NASA (or FASA) magic injected into that would be great. With Mercury/Atlas/Agena and the upcoming Big Gemini you'd already have much all of NASA's early manned work covered (and a lot of groundwork or parts have already been done). Personally I hope you want to focus on more parts instead of more IVAs. Your Gemini IVA is great, but with the science update in mind I'd rather have some extra parts to do more varied missions than another IVA.
  9. Those pictures in Bobcat's thread were really great. This new part definitely outshines the Lunokhod it's supposed to carry.
  10. I made the FASA fuel tanks compatible with Modular Fuel System 1.3. Has it been done before? If not, you're (whether you be the main dev or one of the branch devs) free to include it in your next release. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23500849/FASA_ModularFuelTanks.cfg
  11. That would go great in combination with the Kethane mod. Restarted the engine on your miner once too often? Hope that there's some Kethane beneath your ship to convert to Xenon...
  12. You can do the same thing to the Mercury Launch Escape System, btw. That would make the LES automatically detach and fly away if put in the Staging list, but in the Actions list it could be set to fire and thus bring the capsule to safety.
  13. Have you thought of making the Phoenix from First Contact? The Titan II is already made by FASA, so you'd only need to do the Phoenix itself. Would work great with KSP Interstellars FTL propulsion.
  14. Frizzank, just noticed that the ICBM warheads could be set up a bit better. If you put ActivatesEvenIfDisconnected = true before the MODULE part and if you also put the ModuleDecouple above the ModuleEngines then when you stage the warheads they will decouple and then automatically fire their solid rocket motors. I've been learning more about the actual Gemini design lately and I noticed a few things in your version that are off from the real version. One: monopropellant was not stored in the Gemini Pod itself, but in the RCS section above it. Second: the Fuel Cell was not located in the pod either, but rather in the Equipment section. These are small changes, so do with them what you wish.
  15. Glad you're releasing early. I need my FASA fix It looks great.
  16. Will Big G be released first, separately, or will we have to wait for a Big G/MOL release?
  17. Well the modularity means the different modules wouldn't need to be made all at the same time (my suggestion above wasn't intended as: do everything now). The basic MOL configuration would only need four unique parts, with only one of those perhaps having an IVA: an adapter/decoupler (2.5 to however wide your MOL is), a habitat module, an equipment module (RCS/fuel) and an experiment module. With those parts you can make the design below. Don't know how much time you have for this, but if you make it modular from the start it save time if you ever want to expand MOL. Anyway, just suggestions . Do what works for you.
  18. Glad you're going with MOL. Agena would be nice in the future as it'd allow all of Project Gemini's real missions as well as some (circum)lunar proposals. Mercury/Atlas wouldn't be too high on my priority list. Project Mercury has just one goal, while Project Gemini was much more versatile (or at least planned to be). MOL is especially an excellent choice since we'll be getting more science gameplay in the next update. For MOL there were various configurations planned, each allowing different kinds of science to be done. That's why I suggest modularizing your MOL components. This would prepare the mod for the next update, allowing different kinds of science being done based on the modules and it'd allow for more variety in MOL designs. The Air Force/NASA hoped to put multiple MOLs into orbit, each doing something different. The image above shows some of the layouts. It includes a telescope module (telescope parts in KSP will be used to discover all the planets and moons), earth resources module (short-range science gathering), habitat module (basically the Hitchhiker), a biological lab (could work similar to the science bay part we've seen in KSP Weekly two weeks ago) and an equipment module (RCS and rocket fuel). Making it modular would also make the design below possible. You'd simply need two of the 2.5 to 2.75 adapters (which could also act as the decoupler that separates the Gemini craft from the MOL), an equipment module and a habitat module.
  19. Great work hooijwana. I was wondering if you'd have any interest in redoing the stock Structural Fuselage and add additional structural fuselages in different sizes and lengths. The Structural Fuselage doesn't really fit stock designs unless it's a spaceplane, but the part is nonetheless very useful. If it came in different sizes/lengths it'd be even better. They could be used for more intuitive spaceplane designs or as walkways between station parts.
  20. Manned Orbital Laboratory.
  21. Just found out that the drogue parachute was only used to remove the nosecone. The drogue parachute would deploy, the attachment points of the docking nosecone (R&R section in the video) would separate it and the drogue would pull it away. Then the main parachute would deploy. Not arguing for any changes (a separate drogue chute gives more options), but I thought it'd be interesting to share.
  22. It was a misunderstanding about how I interpreted orientation. Either way, frizzank has fixed for the next one, so we're all good.
  23. Of course, you're right. Thought about it the wrong way around.
