I bought my ticket to the hype-train! Woohoo!

Odds of my avatar having been altered: slim to none.

The B-Wing is most definitely not an EU ship. It was used at the .

You're a monster. I've barely played since 0.25 came out.

Orbital launches are easier with FAR, even after you take DRE into account. Squad is probably going to have to change the default game scale to at least 6.4x sometime after they add stock aerodynamics, or getting into orbit will be brain dead simple. Either that or all the Kerbal rocket engines are going to need to be very underpowered in atmosphere.

I believe I got my copy of the game right after 0.14 came out, but it might have actually been right before 0.14. I do remember that it managed to update before I played it a second time. I bought it for $18 US if that helps in dating.

KSP 1.0 General Thread + All the new features
Nobody_1707 replied to Daze's topic in KSP1 Discussion
They'll have to rewrite the entire physics system, again. Then they'll have to redo all the shaders. Then they'll need to rebuld the whole app. Then they'll need to deal with all the Unity 5 bugs, because U5 just came out and is guaranteed to have new bugs. They will almost certainly need to give U5 support it's own update with no other big features. -
OS X 10.10.1 is very definitely 64-bits. I believe 10.7 was the last version that supported 32-bit processors. Not that it matters much, since you're building a new computer anyway. But Macs have been 64-bit since 10.6*. *Actually, it's supported 64-bit programs since 1.5, but the UI library didn't have 64-bit support until 10.6.

It rounds up? I would have expected Banker's rounding. Especially as it's the default rounding mode for IEEE floating point.

Yeah, last I checked NASA's Mars surface pics only showed red skies after manual color adjustment. The raw pictures had blue skies.

Am I the only one who wants a Sol sized Kerbol system and not the Sol System itself?

Alternatives to Ferram for realistic drag models?
Nobody_1707 replied to Proply's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Well that would be a hard argument to refute, because stock KSP definitely does not have an aerodynamic drag model. Clearly, Sean Mirrsen is more interested in verisimilitude than realism, which is fine, but he's confusing the issue by referring to his desires as "realistic." Also, doesn't Ferram's ISP scaler already have a FAR to KSP preset? That basically accomplishes what he's asking for right? Kerbal-X gets into orbit with roughly the same amount of fuel? -
.22 playtesting being waylaid by mods?
Nobody_1707 replied to jpkerman's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Not having probes first is very realistic. Do you have any idea how hard it is to space proof a computer that can fly a rocket in space with complex maneuvers? All Sputnik had to do was circularize its orbit and then emit a signal at regular intervals so that the Soviets could synchronize their ICBM launches. Our probes didn't do much either until after we got men on the moon. Circularize, emit radio signal; that was it. And I think the circularizing part might even have been hardwired into the rocket itself and not controlled by the computers at all. -
EDIT: Whoops, we really need a delete button. I did not mean to double post.

Now that FAR and KIDS are officially 0.22 compatible, I'm going to scrap my almost fresh save and start from scratch. Hopefully I'll have figured out how to push large payloads into space by the time Interstellar is updated. Sorry, I'm still on Lion. It's weird though, the game runs better for me in OS X than it does in Windows, but the patcher has never worked for me (which is why I used my Steam code.) Your safest bet is probably to download the DMG.

So, I'm a bit worried about that nosecone update in the change notes, how badly does that screw with FAR?- 14,073 replies

This wasn't working for me, but thankfully it only took one recovered vessel to unlock decouplers. Steam, Mac.

You know, there's really no reason why the performance improvements can't be ready for 0.22.1 if the only reason they aren't in 0.22 is that they missed QA.

O_O Wow. My post in the FAR thread last night was spookily timed. What's KIDS? -
[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
Nobody_1707 replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I forgot how easy it was to escape Kerbin's atmosphere. I had made a test ship because I was trying to figure out which mod was mucking my game up, and Jeb took 'er for a spin and had a wee bit o' an accident. I think they might need to scale the solar system up when they add aerodynamics to the stock game.- 14,073 replies
