  1. Here's an odd one. Starting KSP from a desktop link will give KSP some trouble with pathing. My KSP logs started being written to my desktop rather than the KSP directory, and SoundtrackEditor couldn't find its config file (so no new music). Nothing else had any trouble, though. Long story short, start KSP from the actual KSP directory.
  2. Another excellent contract pack from nightingale. I am very happy to see this, and out so quickly, too!
  3. I was having an issue with SoundTrackEditor, where it would not start playing correctly when I launched in the 64bit mode. Launching using 32bit mode would perform correctly. When I went to check the log, I discovered something peculiar - when running under x64, it not only wasn't finding the config for SoundTrackEditor (correctly installed in /~/Desktop/KSP_linux/GameData/SoundtrackEditor), but also wrote the KSP log to my desktop instead of in the KSP directory. x32 correctly wrote KSP.log in the KSP directory, and was able to correctly find the SoundTrackEditor config file. This problem occurs with a modded game as well as a clean install (plus SoundTrackEditor for testing pathing.) edit: An old log from .90 (which I just found in my home directory) also showed the same issue. edit ][ : Apparently starting from a desktop shortcut may cause some of the issues I've been having. Doesn't explain everything, but good enough for me.
  4. I like that Type-c. It would go very well with Roverdude's FTT mod.
  5. I have also encountered this. Basically, the default action for airbrakes has changed from "toggle" to "extend". I have not confirmed that this mod is at fault, though.
  6. I have wanted deployable wings like these since I started KSP. Great work, electronicfox!
  7. Since people have already covered Hooligan's airships and procedural airships, there's one other very interesting looking lighter-than-air mod out there: KerBalloons.
  8. From a quick glance, this looks like it will convert FireSpitter style prop engines also. Nothing quite like a Sopwith running on liquid hydrogen!
  9. It's great that you've resurrected this! Alternis is a rearrangement and reimagining of the stock Kerbal system originally by NovaSilisko. Most notably, it places Kerbol as a moon of Jool making for a much more interesting early game with many more targets available.
  10. Nice animation. I really like how slowly it deploys; it gives a feeling of weight to the entire process, and super-rapid drill deployment isn't a priority in any mining development I know of.
  11. It sounds like you might really benefit from RCS Build Aid. This will take the guesswork out of where you should be planting your RCS thrusters to avoid unwanted pitch and roll.
  12. I crave neither post count nor rep. (Which is good, as I think most of my rep has been awarded sarcastically). I'm happy enough just to help out or point out something useful.
  13. Swank! I can't count the number of problems this will solve for me!
  14. Hey JewelShisen (and maybe Hooligan), are you aware of this mod? Might give you some ideas.
  15. This seems to be how it worked for me also. Tour contracts I've already accepted vanish, but the tourists stay.
  16. Does this affect stock tourism contracts that are already ongoing in any way, or is it better if I complete any such contracts before installing?
  17. Hey! These were pretty neat engines. I sure wouldn't say no to having them updated. That Nuclear Thermal Ramjet was fun to try to fly with.
  18. You can always just gather the science again. Collect it once for return to Kerbin and immediate science gains, and a second time to give to all of your science labs for forever research.
  19. It's taken me two years and about 150 posts to get three points, so that means I'm either 4950 posts or 66 years away from my next bar!
  20. Fun little tune. You should set up a download so we can use it with Soundtrack Editor.
  21. All the pieces need to be connected. They can be on wheels, landing gear, or directly on the surface, just so long as they are landed!
  22. Importantly this allows more than two scientists to give bonuses to a lab. A full lab with a third scientist in an attached pod will work faster than just a full lab. I suppose they work in shifts.
  23. It works quite well indeed except tracks need to be converted to .ogg to work on Linux or Mac.I'd love a download for Sun.
  24. Here's my own example of figuring out how much fuel to put on a Munar probe. I first calculated what my ballpark delta-v for a 10000m orbit would be, assuming that the orbital velocity is ~ the delta-v for achieving that orbit on an atmosphereless planet. Vorbit = sqrt{((Mass of Mun)(Gravitational Constant))/(Radius of orbit around center of Mun)} About 557 m/s. This probe is expected to land and launch, so twice this is a minimum. I then used my highly dubious math skills to find my fuel ratio needed when using a Terrier engine. (Mwet/Mdry)=e^{delta-v/(Isp*9.8)} OR Percent of initial total mass that is fuel = 1 - e^-(delta-v/(ISP*9.8) About 29% of my final total mass should be fuel for my probe. So, my probe was 1.2 tons empty, so I made it ~ 1.55 tons full. And sure enough, this was just enough fuel to take it on a round trip for a munar landing and back to the mothership. (I would have preferred a bit more fuel for comforts sake, but it worked out.)
