  1. Here's our 'radio bubble'. Any neighbouring civilisation is just too far away, even if you plug the most optimistic numbers in the Drake Equation.
  2. Probably. But that shouldn't matter, should it?
  3. I can't find a Bug report sub forum, so I'll post this here... Chances are someone beat me to it, but hey... My astronaut complex is at tier 2(?). I can have 12 active Kerbals. Currently, I have 11 in LKO, Mün and Minus. It is, however no problem to launch an Mk1-2 command pod with 3 Kerbals aboard. Bringing the total of active Kerbals on 14... <insert spooky music>
  4. Are those resolutions supported by KSP? Or is it scaled up from 1920*1080?
  5. I'll just leave this here: http://sploid.gizmodo.com/crazy-spinning-giant-thai-rocket-is-the-awesomest-thing-1675476638
  6. I was not too motivated to start over again, but this might just give me the final push it needs. Thanks Roverdude!
  7. Things would be more fun if it where the other way around. Infinite speed with limited mass
  8. Tried it, loved it! Lost a few parts on the way though So, I rigged a probe with this drive, named it Enterprise and flew it to Duna and back to be sure. And guess what? Not a single Vulcan showed up. I feel deceived.
  9. No, seriously. I checked it. You can add parts to your subassembly folder and spawn them on a launchpad AND grab them to put them wherever you want them. SO, basically, all I need is a nice model for a 3D-printer. Which Bahamuto has, but that one converts metal to rocketparts(?).. I'm still intrigued by the idea of building off world bases with regolith. That would require the modelling of a handfull of building blocks and a door airlock and windows. Any takers?
  10. Mods used: Mechjeb and KW Rocketry for structural and navigational purposes. DMagic for science. Apart from the screenshots shown in my reports, there are none. Too bad if that means I can't apply. I enjoyed doing it anyway I did this challenge countless times. Only to fail at on point or the other. In which case I wouldn't post my report. Now everything worked out. So no cheating. I understand you need more than that.
  11. Dagnabbit. At the exact moment you where writing this post, I decommissioned my ASP station. It would have made a significant score.
  12. Hi all, I 'did' all 5 Jool moons as well. Mission report is here Yes, I used Mechjeb. Hope you approve my submission. Otherwise, have a nice read
  13. I had a little over 2000m/s dV left in the transfer stage, plus some more in the lander. I was confident returning to Kerbin would be a piece of cake. Thanks for reading watching looking
  14. Pol is a haunted golf ball. Don't ever go there!
  15. Bop is a potato. Hardly any flat areas. Good thing I brought a lander with a wide footprint and a low center of gravity.
  16. Vall is a dull snowball. Forgot to take a lot of screenshots.
  17. This is where my first attempt stranded. I had by far not enough dV available to land AND return. The second attempt needed a rescue mission to provide the extra 100m/s dV to get back into orbit. This time, I added a small desposable stage to provide the needed chutes and extra fuel.
  18. Tylo requires the most dV to land on and launch from. So we start there. 3 external tanks with extra engines provide the needed fuel and power to get it done.
  19. Jool-V challenge is one of the most participated challenges in the sub forum. I decided to give it a go as well. So, what's so special about mine? Nothing really. Except that I used 1 lander to land on all the moons of Jool. Here's my ship. The pic speaks for itself: The design made it neccesary to first go to Tylo. Tylo requires the most dV to land and lift off from. After Tylo we went to Laythe. Because of the atmosphere it's easy to land on, but a bit harder to launch from. After that, Vall, Bop and Pol. All a lot easier, but with their own perticularities. I made a few albums, which I will post in individual posts. Launch Transfer to Jool Tylo Laythe Vall Bop Pol Transfer to Kerbin and landing
