  1. You want the thread closed because It 'reminds you' of another website? XD Hey, if I don't find the game appealing anymore, I won't waste my time playing it. If you have a problem with that, then say it.
  2. Smaller aircraft, and drones that could actually fit underneath their wings.
  3. Well, I hope we can work through this. It's just that those parts are too large overall for my liking. You're the very definition of short-sighted. I can't help but feel you're last statement is 100% subjective.
  4. Sometimes, you can't focus on catering to the lowest denominator of computer hardware if you want to deliver the best experience. Squad isn't developing KSP as a console port (at least that we know of), which should give them more leeway in terms of performance and optimizations.
  5. Maybe squad could try to, I don't know, create a more efficient system where assets are loaded on demand? The choice of sticking to the Unity engine is severely limiting KSP's potential... why not attempt to explore other options such as Cryengine 3? Asset management is something you guys can work out. I'm implying that there's something Squad can do on the technical side to alleviate these issues.
  6. 0_o I said they were UNIQUE from the torrent of FPS shooters? Reading comprehension?
  7. He's just short sighted. An accurate analogy is Sony's decision to remove OtherOS, which actually infuriated the US Air Force.
  8. Those control-surfaces are exactly what I utilize the most. My micro-probe and aircraft development rely on them.
  9. Majorjim, it appears the poll function won't work. Could you ask frozen or someone else to try?
  10. Huh? Post a poll isn't working for me... 0_o Could someone else make a thread with a poll? It appears that something is wrong on my end... Or... never mind. They're watching.
  11. Huh? The poll didn't post. 0_o Either Squad is sabotaging it, or the forum glitched. Let me redo it.
  12. As a KSP player for over three years, I've been thrilled to see the game grow from almost nothing into a beacon of space-exploration promotion. Unfortunately, with the latest 0.25 update, Squad has decided to remove most of the original aerodynamic parts from the game, including the small control surfaces, and replace them with the unwieldy SP+ parts. These new parts are monotonous, repetitive, and stifle the creativity that has marked the KSP community as something unique from the torrent of linear FPS shooters/RPG's. The original stock parts allowed us to create thousands of unique craft, made to our individual aesthetic tastes, and to produce works of art. I implore you, the KSP community, to vote on whether or not Squad should re implement these old aerodynamic parts and allow their user base to express ourselves within the stock game. I'm creating a poll in a new thread. UPDATE: Actually, the poll won't work. 0_o
  13. I can promise to help damage their bottom line... ... by convincing potential customers to avoid purchasing KSP in the first place. I swear, Squad destroyed one of the best aspects of KSP through their decision. Sure. I'll make sure that people can put in their opinions and swing Squad back into reality.
  14. Alas, I'm making an ultimatum. If Squad doesn't bring back those small control surfaces, I'll stop playing KSP, and convince my friends to do the same. Not that my friends need much convincing, as they feel the same way.
  15. In this case, you're the draftsman at an engineer party. I'm not trying to insult you, but I'm just telling you upfront: Squad screwed up.
  16. Look at the spacecraft exchange and observe the thousands of UNIQUE craft people built. Stock parts allowed people to express their own design tastes. Those SP+ parts look monotonous. Do you really not see how conformal those SP+ craft look?
  17. That's regressive thinking. Why 'improve' the new parts, if the old ones could fill the gap with no work put into them?! ARGH! What if I told you, the DIMENSIONS of these parts are ridiculous. These SP+ parts make the game nearly unplayable for people such as Majorjim and I.
  18. Agreed. Once you've become accustomed to KSP space planes, you'll see just how idiotic these new parts look and act. Don't act like an expert if you 'haven't dabbled' in an area yet.
  19. We're not suggesting that they should put in EVERYTHING, but that they shouldn't have replaced the old parts with inferior ones. How are we supposed to make small aircraft with those humongous aerodynamic parts? It's either make them fugly or clunky. Also, I agree on the search function. It's a mystery why they haven't made one yet.
  20. Not to mention their dimensions are ridiculous. how are we supposed to 'let go of our earthly tethers' when the old parts were, in fact, better? My brain's fried right now. I'm running on caffeine. (Repetitions. Haha.)
  21. Unfortunately, not all change is good. If you've played KSP for years, you'd also have come to recognize the utility of these smaller control surfaces. Simply cutting out one of the most versatile parts in the game because 'it's not shiny enough' isn't always the best solution.
  22. Please answer, Squad. Those small control surfaces were amazing, and the new control surfaces are just too unwieldy and inflexible. If you truly value input from your customers, please, at least listen to the input of your long time KSP players. Who knows, we might even stop suggesting KSP to our own contacts... But really, that was a short sighted decision, Squad.
  23. I concur! Their decision was utterly shortsighted and, frankly, stupid. POLL! POLL!
  24. Well, I guess squad doesn't care about us small craft builders. I mean, WTF squad, you just HAD to remove the small control surfaces...
