I was going to get the r9 280x... until it went from 260 to over 400. At least prices are starting to drop now but amd lost many a potential customer to the allure of the gtx 760. My gpu. Runs bf3 and arma 3 with all ultra settings at 1050 p... no compromises were made. http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperClocked-Dual-Link-Graphics-02G-P4-2765-KR/dp/B00DHW4HXY/ref=pd_cp_pc_0

I already had an i7 in my laptop. It is true that single core performance is similar in both chips. Let me show my crypto currency hate induced bias. Team green all the way.
-
KSP actually depends on single threaded processor performance while barely supporting the gpu and therefore likes i7 processors more. I wish they would implement physx for my monster gpu to complement my cpu already.

Ships for the kraken throne! Glory to the warp!

One of my hard drives just spun itself to death in my new build. Not surprising since it is about a decade old and from a dell. Time to get a 120 gb ssd for it. Any suggestions. Warning to Whackjob himself: Whackjob... are you sure that the mobo can handle that overclock... I use a gigabyte ds3p and a cooler master tx3 and haven't managed to get a decent overclock on my processor without extreme instability. Overclocking to over 6 ghz will doom your rig to an early death.
-
I have a second generation 6300 amd cpu. I can attest that the processor will definitely be powerful.
-
I would have given the laptop if you needed it without the slv. Please do enjoy your life for ksp is not a first priority. The forum being rather empty during the school year attests to this. We would be glad to help you for the community spirit and the ethical philosophy.

Tu-16 with parasite fighter [prototype labs]
andrew123 replied to andrew123's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thank you. Should I upgrade the plane combo or try to stick my sabre on the bomber. I could also try to make the parasite fighter even better. The loadout could use some good work in my humble opinion. -
I wish you the best. I feel guilty for having just bought and installed the gtx 760 and 8 gb of ram for my new computer.
-
It was a rather satirical jab. The gravity drive in those stories represent what the kraken drive is in ksp.

Two words: technological stagnation. http://pastebin.com/aJQfubrK http://pastebin.com/rT1Aq8pr

The good old parasite fighter concept, taken to prototype stage, and looks rather deadly sleek. The fighter is maneuverable and fast while the bomber is durable and reliable. Instructions for flying coming soon. Remember to always turn on ASAS and decouple node for flight. Also weapons clean for your own modifications. Skylon may fly this year, first SSTO spaceplane?
andrew123 replied to Naten's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I just hope that they can make a ssto. I bet it would encourage more space travel among the general population. -
What about my infinity and a slv. I would gladly contribute some money (even my i7 performance laptop if I can get a good sender) if he would make an slv for it.
-
What about making a youtube series for whackjovian creations! Perfection! I also recorded the second and third episodes of cosmos with my rig. Post if anyone want to see them from now.

Have fun with your computer. My specs for my recent rig are a fx 6300, gtx 760, 8gb 1600 mhz cl9 dual channel kingston ram, 500 watt corsair psu, gigabyte 970a ds3p motherboard unit, rosewill challenger case, two salvaged hard drive with a few years of use, and a salvaged dvd drive from my old dell. I was surprised that the first computer I built worked perfectly on boot. I actauly never put on my anti static wrist strap. My old laptop i7 cpu is actually more powerful than my new cpu. I still prefer to have all of the new features on call. I also got a tx3 cooler master cpu heatsink. Cooler master has some really silent cpu coolers

I actually have an i7 2670qm laptop lying around with 6 gb of ram. The only component missing is the hard drive and the license key on the back must not be used. (Shipping it may be impossible though. the gpu is a 6770m.)
-
If you have the chance, you should upgrade from bulldozer to piledriver. I bought the second gen fx 6300 due to the original having a horrible pipeline, and they are actually worse than phenom ii and athlon legacy parts in some benchmarks.

totm june 2018 Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread
andrew123 replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The non centeralized spine designs always ended up being floppy jello contraptions. My carrier was almost a huge version of the javelin but always wobbled its way to hell. -

My original Sabre was always launched on a rocket. It was actually rather simple. : http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/61285-UNSC-Sabre-Starfighter-%28Weaponry-to-be-added-soon%29 I do like my current version much more though. It took a huge redesign to get to the current capabilities it possesses including the Precision single stage to orbit. Off topic: I love my new rig. the fx 6300 and gtx 760 are extremely performance capable. -

I was just showing my design. I also released my sabre at around the same time as your own sabre plane. -

I decided to stick two archer MK IV Warp Drives onto my new hyperdock ring. -
Got Boosters? Just touche. :)

Never experiment with hydrogen peroxide. My friend nearly blew his hand off. My rockets were chemical motors. I believe they are chemical and fire hazard inducing components when lost in home.
-
I actually lost three to six large rocket motors in my home. The worst part is that they are all unburned and are chemical hazards.
