Well the thing is I'm not even using a custom cfg right now. Vanilla 6.2 I see icons for launch facilities all over the globe in the tracking station. 7.0 never showed those at all ever.
-
Just tried 6.2.. Yup.. Much better. Now I have all the launch sites on the map etc.. They weren't even there in 7.0.. May be a 64bit thing?
-
Thanks for confirming.. My Tech OCD was driving me nuts with that. haha..
-
Am I trying these configs wrong? Downloaded the custom cfg, overwrote the default config.. Launch game and it's as if RealSolarSystem isn't even loading. Default sizes, default textures etc..
-
I tried to start converting the 1/10th scale cfg to use on v7. There is so many changes between the two.. It's not going to be possible for me. Besides there being an entire new curve field (temperatureCurve), there are some other new fields, and then the names of some fields have changed. For instance. New config Old Too much work for me and I don't know enough about these numbers to attempt it. Oh well, I tried..
-
Hmm.. I may try option B if I feel adventurous.. I love how the solar system is more accurate but the scale of everything is just a bit overwelming for me. I like challenges but it's just a bit much for my skill level. Seems much easier to just go with a 1/10th scale RSS instead. I will say.. I always appreciated space travel but after seeing everything in the correct scale etc.. I have a much larger appreciation for it.
-
Just got to try this mod for the first time.. Completely blown away.. Great job! Question. The link to the cfg file in the op for a 1/10th scaled version of RSS doesn't work with 7.0.. Is there an easy way to convert that cfg to work with the newer version? Or has someone already? I'd rather have a 1/10th scale RSS to avoid having to install RO to balance it out. Thanks again for the hard work obviously put into this!

The Linux compatibility thread!
styckx replied to sal_vager's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
The segfaults are NOT needed. Completely stock 64bit executable. 4GB+ of RAM use.. Also.. I ran into a weird thing.. If I right click on my desktop and create a launcher to run KSP RealSolarSystem will NOT work at all. If I double click the executable in a file manager then RealSolarSystem does work. What is happening when launching the game via a desktop icon Vs running it from a file manager that is causing that? -

Have the offsets changed at at all from .24 to 24.2? -

As long as I've been playing this today had my first corrupt save.. I noticed it when I was driving a rover I had on the Mun.. Almost predictable hitching every 10-20 seconds.. Then when starting the game it was slow to bring up the resume screen, then slow to bring up the saved game list, slow to load the VAB.. Everything was slow. I then also noticed a lander I had just landed on the Mun was mysteriously gone. It clicked with me then my save was most likely corrupt. So I went one by one in my tracking station deleting each flight (I had a backup save) until I notice the glitchy slow game play go away. The buggy game play was narrowed down to the rover which was one of the first vehicles of this save.. Copied over my backup, deleted that one flight and everything was kosher again. I'm sure others have experienced this.. How do you prevent your save getting corrupt like that? In over two years this is the first time I remember this happening but now my Tech OCD anxiety is fearful this might happen again.

I hope its 24.1 to hammer out some of the pressing issues on the x64 Windows client. I'm still running the Linux version and can't wait to do a full move to Windows for KSP

The Linux compatibility thread!

Ugh.. KDE. The love hate Desktop environment. When it works it is the best.. When it flies off the deep end it's the most insufferable thing ever. Last time I tried it my mouse cursor icons kept getting blown to weird large sizes. Linux and multi-monitor support is still sketchy. It's the risk I take for having 3 monitors.. I was using Cinnamon but went back to Mate Desktop.. -

these new highly sophisticated, budget-friendly landing gears
styckx replied to Franklin's topic in KSP1 Discussion
How is a beginner supposed to have the education and skill level so early in the game to craft such a complicated and precise landing gear? This is Kerbal dude.. Not Lockheed Martins garage.. -
I went back to Linux 64bit.. The Windows 64bit Unity client is obviously not ready for prime time yet.
-
When did we start announcing breaks? I thought overdosing on Kerbal combined with random breaks was part of normal gameplay?

I wonder when they will finally release a 64bit Linux version of Unity that doesn't require the offsets? The Windows 64bit version is perfectly fine using more than 4GB of RAM out of the box (I've had it up to 5GB+)... Yet the Linux version.. Nope.. Still requires offsets... -

Wouldn't even know where to begin to write a script like that. This isn't a deal breaking thing for me, like I said just something I always meant to ask about. I have two ways to play it on the monitor I want.. Both of which take little to no time. I'm sure somewhere in future development this will be taken care of natively. -

No dice.. I tried -popupwindow with fullscreen still enabled in the settings.. Loaded on the wrong monitor like normal.. Disabled fullscreen and the game loaded only on one half of the wrong monitor. (half the monitor was kerbal, other half my wallpaper) Even in normal (no command line) windowed mode it ALWAYS opens on the wrong monitor.. Even if I drag the window to the one I want and close it.. Soon as I re-open it.. Back to the wrong monitor. Not sweating it. Linux multi-monitor support has always been a back burner priority over the years. It's still sketchy but compared to what it USED to be like not long ago it's actually pleasant to use despite the downsides. -

No dice... I figured there probably wasn't a way to do it.. KSP isn't the only game that runs under Linux that ignores the primary monitor setting in multi monitor configurations.. Figured it didn't hurt to ask though. As much as primarily use Windows I keep coming back to Linux for KSP.. The 64bit Unity client for it is so much more in line with its 32bit counterpart. -

Doesn't work for me. Running Mint 17 w/ Nvidas 331 updates binaries My monitor arrangement. Top is a 40in LED via HDMI Bottom two 23in via DVI As you can see the bottom left is set as primary.. Upon running KSP (in fullscreen) it is displayed on the top monitor. If I disable the top monitor and run it, it will display on the bottom left, but not because it's actually working right.. Just coincidence If I set the bottom right one at primary while still keeping the top monitor disabled it will still run fullscreen on the bottom left. Now.. Another game say like. LIMBO from Steam.. It displays on whatever monitor I set as the primary as it should.. KSP completely ignores that setting. -

Question I always meant to ask.. Is there a way to force KSP to start on your primary monitor? KSP is one of those games that ignores that setting -

Those offsets work perfect.
