I've experienced this on many past builds and it is really demoralizing. It doesn't seem long after I get a few items on the Mun etc and attempt to land something else like a rover there things start getting all derpy. Random explosions when I get in simulation range of the already landed items. I've even had rovers and entire modules disappear between quick saves or regular saves. Is this just regular game bugs or incompatible addons?

Thanks! Drtedastro has a good concept which was sorta where my initial brain storming came from. Cheaper stock parts w/ drawbacks Burn hotter Burn more fuel Less thrust Heavier But at a discount price. Whether I get this far or not who knows but right now I'm focusing on making the default items look as worn, beat, and abused as possible (but still seem "perfectly fine to fly") first. I love manpulating textures and have been doing it for many years in various other games. That's where the fun for me is. The creating part.. Whether I actually finish a project or not doesn't concern me.. As long as I have fun at least trying. -

Ok.. Texture repaints are back on thanks to Nathankell pointing me to SuperPNG for Photoshop. Second stock engine is done.. I'll start my own thread in addon dev once I get a few more done. Also did some changes to the first engine I did. -
I kindly disagree about it being too busy. All personal opinions of course. But do agree with your full color explosion part. I did correct that.. Thanks kindly for the feedback.

I may have to dump this project.. the mbm to png converter I'm using isn't correctly converting the rest of the engine textures correctly.. Tons of transparency issues / blank textures. Is there a more reliable way than MBMConverter? -

Just got done my first repaint... My plan is to do all the default stuff to make it look rundown and dilapidated. Rockomax Mainsail - Bumped up to 1024x1024 textures -
Crashing right after loading is usually an out of memory problem. Use the 2048 textures if you aren't already or use the 64bit executable.

Didn't know where else to put this.. If wrong just move it. I'm just getting into repainting textures and I wanted a logo to slap on things to give what I'm painting some life.. So I figured "KASA" and also figured everyone else probably already did this 1000 times.. But I only found two and they were very small and didn't have enough of the "Kerbal" spin to it. Been using this for a bit because various addons use it.. Now I want to contribute and do some repaints. What I don't see in the OP is where do you acquire the source textures from? -

Update to my re-texture of Kerbin (Earth). Beer has been drunk! Gave the continents an even more dry and drought stricken look but left enough contrast to show people still/once thrived there. The oceans have officially dried up... Taking Klobal Warming to the extreme Things to do: Edit water out of lakes Edit water off some coastlines Edit the poles snow some maybe Figure out how to eliminate the actual ocean configurations so you can actually land where oceans once were Attempt to bump map the ocean floor. Any actual "depth" where the oceans were is just texture illusions Eliminate "blue" atmosphere effect on the horizon Other stuff that alcohol will influence Other stuff a possibility alcohol may or may not influence 8192x4096 textures Looking down at the North America Crossing the Atlantic approaching North Africa

The water can be delt with. That's my next area I'll tackle when I get bored enough, or drink enough beer. And usually bordem is in direct correlation w/ the amount of beer I drink.

The game will always be about Sandbox mode.. Career is a nice diversion but if you just follow the Kode Of Kerbal in sandbox you will always be entertained Build, blast off, blow stuff up..

Working on a new Kerbin texture set. This map isn't my work, I grabbed it from here and all I'm doing is adapting it to RSS. It looks like a modified version of one of NASAs maps.. I liked the look of this as it gave Kerbin a nice arid, dry, and drought stricken world.

Yeah.. I run a semi light install.. At least I figured it out.. All is well now.. I grabbed the 2.2.0 release of that dll also.

Got it.. But you do see how those instructions could easily be misinterpreted? Especially since 7.0 doesn't include the module manager dll. I'm assuming now the exclusion of it was probably a packing mistake.. I grabbed 2.2.0 of it and I'm good to go now.

Hmm. Ok..Got it. I installed 7.0 but this time I kept the ModuleManager dll in the GameData folder that came with 6.2 instead.. Now I have launch sites in 7.0. Remove the module manager DLL and no launch sites.. But the OP explicitly says I took that as.. Using a module manager is NOT following instructions and since 7.0 doesn't come with a modulemanager I assumed it didn't need it to function correctly.. But apparently it does..

*scratches head*... I'm using the Linux 64Bit client.. I tried 7.0 in Windows 64Bit client also. Same behavior.. Launch sites never showed in 7.0 I don't think I could have installed it wrong.. 7.0 is pretty cut and try... copy the 3 folders into GameData, and ditto w/ textures and no ModuleManager dll in the GameData folder..
