  1. My challenge was to land the crew from the refueler back on Kerbin. I have done so. However, due to mechanical failures from our cheap rocket developer, our parachute system failed during the descent and a powered thrust landing system was made top priority. Our refueling crew had no abort system so it was up to them to make the landing very soft to survive! Because that's what we want.. right? Well, unfortunately, the landing wasn't as soft as we would like, but, thankfully, EVERYONE survived! So, my challenge to the next person is to make either a plane or vtol capable rocket which can return the 3 crew members back to the kerbal command center. Its a bit of a lengthy mission, so, take advantage of higher altitudes! I have a short album of images for you if you would like to take a look as well http://imgur.com/a/hO6EQ I have figured out how to use Google Drive, so I have installed it on my computer, everyone can just go to File > Download to download my save for the challenge. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bze3NuMo1TTQZjBVOFNkdTlkVkU/edit?usp=sharing
  2. hawk, the reason why I put [example] in there was so that people don't think I actually meant, I have the file, I suggest you remove the [example] XD but I like your ninja comment.
  3. Hawk, definitely, it is something that we definitely need! We get to call the save and no one else can work on it until we post it again!
  4. Is it this video? If so, I am in a debate between mode 3 and 4, possibly another. I am looking for the "future" conics path mode where it shows your projected orbit around the body your going to, it's so hard to explain for me XD
  5. That's a beauty What is your CONIC_PATCH_DRAW_MODE and CONIC_PATCH_LIMIT?
  6. Exactly! I think that's fair, its been a long time, I failed one of my challenges and had to start over again, so I am sure everyone else will be able to catchup ONTO THE NEXT CHALLENGE GAMAH!
  7. That sounds like a good idea! We put something as a header for each post letting people know you have it. Something like: [Example] I have the save file, please wait until I finish it, link will be below. Idk, something XD
  8. Damn, hawk you messed what I was doing. I had undocked the old refueler, used its monopropellant to deorbit it, took out the kerbin, met up with the kerbin and then transferred the fuel in the other ship to the lander.
  9. My specialty! I have docked the two ships together very carefully. Now, the next persons task is to land by the Neil Armstrong monument! Hint, its on the south part of a large dark crater in the northern hemisphere. The monument is basically on the equator. Also, you have to deorbit the refueling stage and let it crash into the Mun's surface. From data that was collected, something vital broke and it needs to be disposed of. http://www.sendspace.com/file/lr2ek3
  10. I would post my files to complete the above challenge but I don't know how to add or edit your share But, still, challenge complete! I challenge the next person to take the refueling craft to the Mun and make a orbit around the Mun. Do NOT rendezvous or dock yet. http://www.sendspace.com/file/2h2jiu
  11. I did not know about the other parts of your ship and my apologies mate! Good job though, because as I said previously, I had failed my attempt But, a Mk II is there now!
  12. Alright, fair enough, I thought I would voice my concern just in case. No harm in that But HURRY someone else, I want another challenge! XD
  13. Looking good my friend. I haven't been able to test in the past few days since we last spoke but I will get up my testing rig together soon in angst for the next test release
  14. I believe that we have some cheating amidst the group I know the size of the last challengers fuel tank and he had 40 left, even with a complete fuel tank from the Mun, you wouldn't know enough fuel to get to Minmus and land. However, I chose not to cheat and accept defeat, I believe Gamah, you hold the power whether or not to disqualify someone for this. Maybe add a rule to show your resources from the start and at the end of the flight and if it doesn't add up, then they have to either prove it some other tactic.
  15. Actually, that is exactly what I did! I thought it would be the right choice, I sent it too the Mun, landed, and then immediately took off after a nice screenshot because it was a beautiful view. Then I headed off to Minmus. I'm glad we don't have to use it anytime soon, everyone else was smart hauling up more fuel and once again I neglected to do so. Oh well, its more fun! I also made a separate save which is specifically for all my challenges that I will be doing. Thank you for giving me a point btw Can't wait for the next challenge omg
  16. Oh you sneaky devil. I can't believe I did not see this one coming. This was frustrating, it took me A LOT of attemps, but I enjoyed figuring it out. I won't spoil the surprise if I achieved this or not, since I only had 90 units of fuel, it was quite the challenge let me put it to you that way. Actually, lets face it, with 90 units of fuel, I know I wasn't going to land, don't get me wrong, I tried over 20 times to get this right, even more times just getting an enocunter, so, I have failed the challenge, but it was BRILLIANT. I wish I would of know to have more fuel, usually I would over do it purposely but I can't say I saw this next challenge coming. So, conclusion? Everyone died, sadly Jeb, he is gone, but, I have a replacement, Jeb's clone.. Jeb! Say hi! http://imgur.com/a/GSUmY Good luck to the other competitors! Gamah, if we fail the challenge, you should take a point away and we have to do a mission to the current challenge spot. So, I got to Mun, I keep those points, I failed getting from the Mun to Minmus, so, from Kerbin, I travel to Minmus but I lose a point, or however you chose to do that system. Just a thought I am going to go to Minmus regardless so that I can continue the challenge. Just a note, I did the challenge ALL over again with my Mk II rocket I will continue using that for the duration of the challenge. However, it only has 70 units of fuel left. So, no more going to planets until we are allowed to refuel!
  17. I have been curious about this, learning like the majority of people here how your vector and thrust effects your speed, altitude, periapsis, apoapsis etc in orbit it has made me question how these principles would come into play with orbital fighting. If any of you have watched Star wars, or played games like Star Conflict, you will see them in orbit, doing crazy maneuvers slowly down, speeding up, doing insane changes of their direction. How could something like this happen? Would they not fall back to the planet they are around? Wouldn't they run out of fuel just turning around because they have to stop all forward momentum in one direction to alter their course? What kind of mechanics do you think are at play here, what technology do you think could exist in the future to prevent them from returning to earth or whatever their planet is while still maintaining nice speed etc etc.
  18. I guess I got a little confused because of the large dark crater. Oh well, congrats anyways!
  19. I thought it was fun as well! Also, you are close to the Neil Armstrong monument for your information
