  1. [2¢]did one of these in the latter days of .20, didn't start out as a grand tour either. Originally the plan was for a tour of Jool's moons. Then I decided to do the whole shebang long as I'm out there. Had a hybrid ion powered mothership with room for three Kerbals to be COMFORTABLE (not just crammed in a single capsule for a dozen years) that was otherwise fairly small, and dragged a basic lander around with it. I sent it out new docking adapters first, then tankers and mission specific landers as & where needed. Route was Jool-Eeloo-Dres-Duna-Eve-Moho-Kerbin. Even managed to land back at KSC with a Soyuz capsule. Landed on every land able body except Eve, and left a flag everywhere but Moho since my rover picked up a bad case of the random explosions there and I left in a hurry. [/2¢][br]. [/br]Lessee here.....[br]. [/br]Side note, WTF aren't line breaks working???
  2. Today the crew of Shoyu 10 settled in for the inaugural 50-day stay at the fledgling Highlab II station, courtesy of Nova's wet workshop proto-mod. But the main solar arrays haven't been delivered yet so nothing actually works and all the snacks are cold.

  4. I regularly launch rockets specifically designed for no other reason than to create debris I like to watch it drifting/screaming by as I go about my orbiting. Got a nice lil ring going at this point. Still no collisions yet but several sub 2.5k passes....that I'm aware of anyway. One thing that does bug me is those silly 60x35k orbits that don't decay. Will the romfarer setup cranked to 99kms "sweep" that stuff out if orbit as it passes below?
  5. Have a link or name of the flick? Been searching youtube for interior footage of a landing & no dice. And just for the record, not really a fair comparison between Soyuz & Dragon. The Soyuz was never intended to be reused while the dragon is designed with that in mind from the start.

  7. Completed my first manual docking a while after MechJeb kept balking at the unusual setup. That's my quarter-arsed attempt at a "reuseable" shuttle. Launches & lands vertically ala SpaceX only dropping the first stage. Needs work. Currently stuck there at my fledgling Highlab station as it has enough fuel left to deorbit but not land. That's ok, Bob has some smelly work to do cleaning the residual kerosene off the walls of the latest wet workshop module (thanks to Nova). Next module will bring more fuel (and quantum struts! Even in .21 things still wobble!) Also dispatched my Munar Impactor tagalong probe from the cargo bay: Sent it on its merry way then remember I haven't setup comm sats near the Mun yet. Somehow RemoteTech was able to keep the signal, but thinking it would loose signal at some point I put the main probe into the side of a mountain. Only the impactors were actually supposed to impact, but those lost action keys somewhere along the way too and didn't launch right. AND the mountian everything hit had JUST the right slope so everything hit all at once instead of giving the probe something to actually observe before it died too. Back to the VAB on that one.

  9. So I've learned how to get a nice evenly spaced network of comm satellites, but how do I time a maneuver to get a satellite to a specific point in a orbit before circularizing? Like directly over KSC in geosync, or opposite the Mün & what pass for its Lagrange points?
  10. Quick question here, what effect will this mod have on existing FLIGHTS? I have several manned relay stations on the surface for remote tech that I don't really "maintain," or want to. Will installing this suddenly cause them to consume resources in the background?
  11. I ran into this same issue. In my case, I launched the setup crewless, did what could be done without crew (dump fuel, find refit module, etc), then came back later with a crewed ship to finish it and ran into this. Tried tweaking the quicksave file to force the refit option to come up, and it can't seem to find the refit module (maybe 'cause it already did?).

  13. Another vote to please keep working on this. On a ridiculous side note, until issues of repacking into the delivery rack are resolved, how about incorporating a tiny remotely triggered solid engine to kick the "used" containers away from the ship? (Not for the space junk OCD, I know) ... So I just looked thru the imagr album and saw the one rack is laundry. And here I thought we'd be able to launch rocks into space!

  15. Any word on the North Pole UFO? Spent half the durn day flying in circles looking for it right where the mapsat MOD (not cheat) said it should be.

Today (yesterday) I completed my unplanned impromptu grand tour, returning the crew of three safely to Kerbin, only 3.5 from the space center even, nearly TEN & a half years after they launched. Best part is my wife actually took an interest and sat by for the Gilly landing, near disaster on Moho (rover got a bad case of the Random Explosions), and triumphant return. Now she's interested in trying her own Mün landing! The Righteous Indignation III passing Kerbin shortly before its fiery retirement. Over a decade in space, a few Brazilian kilometers, ten landings, and I still managed to drop them just off the coast of KSC.
  18. The Eve lander will not be going to space today (or Eve). Or ever. Finally had to take this one out behind the VAB & shoot it.

  20. Dam and blast! Beat me by seconds! Oh well, IBTL I suppose. I'm not even going near .21 for a while. It's like 10,000 guinea pigs all trying to get to the same banana. Lots of pushing and squeaking but not much consuming going on.
  21. I once had a perfect (but unplanned) launch-to-orbit rendezvous with an old booster stage. I park nearly everything in the same 100km orbit, this save was boogered with bugs even before I gave up on it (since .21 will kill it either way). Have a nice lil ring system going on at this point. Anywayz, had just launched a new station tender into orbit when I moved the view and there was the old stage floating half a kilometer away. Literally never saw it coming. So of course I maneuvered over to it and tried moving the flat end around with a Kerbal so I could nudge it out of orbit with the tender. Only succeeded in making it tumble hopelessly and knocking the Kerbal senseless till his suit fuel was gone and the tender had to go chasing after him.
  22. Man I got ALL Y'ALL beat. Today (well last night actually) MY WIFE decided to play KSP! With very little guidance from me she put not one but three Kerbals successfully into orbit and returned them safely to... Well the middle of an inhospitable desert but still... Nothing exploded that wasn't supposed to.
  23. What mod are those twisted looking things I'm guessing are balloons from?
