  1. oh damn, just watched the video, i dont want to go now! mmm i cant remember any specific tutorial that made a huge difference, mostly just experimenting, google problems and things, for modeling its manly getting the polygon topology and flow as efficient as possible and adding lots of detail if you want super realistic stuff some of my old modeling stuff
  2. my atmospheres are volumetric not stacked spheres. and i dont really like annoucing all the programs i use because they are commercial and quite high end stuff that people may pirate in order to replicate my images. no, i dont even know when/if i will be returning in the way i have been working, i may do the occasional pic and may need some good looking crafts but i dont plan to be taking requests.

  4. 4 minor computers say around 1or 2ghz each wont be as effective as a hyperthreaded 3.4ghz cpu, say 9 small computers with 4gb ram and 1ghz cpus will be a lot faster than 3 3ghz machines. i just use the i7 3.4 ghz then switch to a commercial render farm if its needed.
  5. i dont think either of those engines have enough utility for it, unreal is good for large scale but im not sure it can go this large, cryengine is the best out of any engine for graphics but dosnt do so well for large scale

  11. yes you can make ngons but you should fix them, they are a pain for uv mapping and subdividing ngons arnt limited to the software its how you cut and shape your model that will create them
