[Stock Only] Precision Bombing
Kerbies_are_my_Minions replied to PDCWolf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I have a video ready, but Twitch seems to be having a problem with the highlighter. as soon as I can cut it down to what's important I'll get it posted. Sorry for the delay. I'm just waiting for some feedback on the glitch. Ok, Here it is! I appologize in advance, please mute your sound. I didn't realize the sound was feeding back and so the audio is a big.... like a kerbal singing in the background. http://www.twitch.tv/jasonlii/c/2289796 -

Does this count? http://www.twitch.tv/jasonlii/c/2282272 I, too, am curios about the core question. for some reason a couple decided to go boom when being ejected. I think a video is much nicer than a bunch of stills. -

and good job Pure and Lego. I have heavy versions of all my planes that are holding and can deploy payloads. -
re-create real aircraft

I'm glad everyone is really enjoying my planes. I am loving making these. I promise, one day, I will release some of them. Several of my aircraft have undertaken slight changes so, I hope, soon to have a nice little video of them. @Captain K Lol, Lockheed, Lagheed. hehe.. it really is though. when I do a vid for that one I'll have to speed the video up for it. It cuts my Fps down considerably. a 12 min flight takes about half an hour. @zekes The B-24 is great. it's a classic and I love it two. those picks don't do it justice. I'm not very good with the screenshots so if there is any spacific type of pic you guys would like, or would like me to screenshot performing a spacific move or copy a real life pic, just let me know. I'd be more than glad to replicate a photo. And oh my gawd, how could I forget the P-38j Lightning?! I didn't get those pics in there before, so just updated my original post for that. It's another favorite! -

Where the Naughty Kerbals go..
Kerbies_are_my_Minions replied to soranno's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
This was exactly my plan, Soranno. Would it still count? I was planning a prison colony on Eve, with a droper station above it in geosyncronious orbit above the prison on the surface. It is true, there is no running away from a station in space, But using a whole planet seems more fitting, and any form of thrust I send to the plannet will never be enough to escape. Even if they collected the engines over time... But my question is, if it is a two part system, with only a monitorying and processing station above it, will it still count? -

And on a side note, I can't possibly see a reason for anyone to ban the alarmclock. Thats ALL it is, it's an alarm clock. it tells you when things are happening and stops time warp. That's it. It doesn't fly your craft, it doesn't give it infinate fuel, it doesn't make anything easier except knowing when something is about to happen, and preventing you from overshooting your manuver because you couldn't stop timewarp fast enough. Likewise, I don't see the point in banning crew manifest. It just lets you pick kermen, and load them up or transfer them. It really doesn't change any end result.

A couple of suggestions from all my experiances building planes. 1. Drifting to the left or right. I beleave that there may be a problem with the symitry tool in Kerbal. Mirrored objects in symitry seem to be a little different than the original. I have experimented with the flex of objects. I'm not sure if it's the uneven flex of the wing panels that cause the drifting, or if the lift is altered as well, but if I build a plane completely from the left side, it drifts left. if I build a plane completely from the right side, it drifts right naturally. There are two methods around this. Alternate from side to side when placing parts, or, throw one last solo low lift wing on whatever side tends to drift to. 2. Over-correction. The farther away from the body of your plane your control surfaces are, the greater the roll. You can keep your control surfaces in nice and tight against your hull for more precise rolling left and right. However, if you want to have alot of manuverability, keep them closer to the tips of the wings. it's a sacrifice. So, if you want less over correction when rolling, move your ailerons inward. 3. Bigger is not better. just like full throttle is not better.

Made it in 1:06:08 with some fuel left. Even made it onto the runway. I dropped 4 engines from my design and still managed near Mach4 the whole trip with way better fuel efficiency. And I didn't mean to make it sound like I didn't like your plane. Form typically follows function in this world, but I always have to have things look right. All the entries look great and well done everyone.
