Work in progress of an Eve type planet. Weird noise appearing in the cloud layer that needs addressed and I think I need a lot more cloud coverage in general. Higher samples will take care of noise appearing on the dark side, this was a low sample test render.

Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take you Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mamma... (Ok so I'm old!) Kokomo jokes/lyrics aside that craft will be all kinds of fun to render. I've been wanting to circle back to the water simulations to tackle things like creating wake behind the boat and getting the water to look more realistic. As far as mod parts goes so far I've not had much luck with getting them to import. The mod author (Blender import mod) is still on the job and with luck we might get a fix once the dust settles from the recent updates. I hope.... Stock craft files from .90 should import though. We can always give it a try and see what happens.

Request from Eorin at Sparrowhawk Aeronautics. Eorin designed this brilliant replica of a YF-12. One look and I think we all can agree Clarence "Kelly" Johnson would approve. Find his post along with some historical background on the aircraft here! Sonic boooooooom! - - - Updated - - - I noticed he updated his script on gethub and it seems most of the textures are working. Still some issues with some parts not showing up but all in all it appears to be functioning.

Hmm, was shooting for a dust scattering from the blast, not smoke. And yeah.. that darn smoke sim was not being friendly. To close to the ground and I got a weird separation from the ground with the blast. Blenders smoke sim is flat out dumb sometimes.

You know we were thinking the same thing.... I need to tweak the color ramp that is controlling that texture more.

Using a fairly basic cycles fire node setup. Below is a link to the simple cycles fire/smoke node setup using a color ramp for the colors. Those aren't the exact settings I used in the render for DMSP but they should be close. http://imgur.com/HRWu1Y7 Red text was explaining how I setup the node to someone some time ago, if you want the exact node setup from that picture let me know and I'll pm you a new screenshot. Kinda cheating on the picture backgrounds I know but I think my GPU/CPU are thanking me for avoiding all those pesky volumetrics by doing clouds from scratch Really hoping Blender gets GPU and cycles volumetrics rendering integration finished soon. Would make it loads easier to do rendering of clouds and fire in the same scene.

Heyas nestor_d, Usually someone just drops a note here and I add it to the queue. Currently only one or two in the works so it shouldn't take to long if your interested. After adding it to the queue I shoot the person who requested the render a note asking them how they would like it displayed and we go from there. Nothing gets posted unless your ok with the results. If all that is ok then go ahead and post a request here with a link to the craft file. I've only tried stock craft so far since the recent upgrade of KSP. Hadn't had much luck imported mod craft in the past but I'll give it a shot if you have one.

Starwhips render of your Rapier was my favorite. The lighting makes it look like a movie still or something. Simple and clean, doesn't get better than that. Well... maybe it could use some cool music to go along with it

So another scene in the clouds except this time add a chase/spotter plane? Would the focus be on the plane or the rocket? Like the rocket in the distance and the camera looking down across the chase plane?

This is just awesome! Personally I love the detailed eyes. I'm thinking once the hair, helmet, body, etc. all gets done it will come together more and the eyes will mix in nicely. If you post it somewhere I'll be downloading for sure!
