How many Kerbal years to compleat the tech tree?
bonyetty replied to bonyetty's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Thank for the advice. But I just get too impatient and curious. I have a crewed orbiting lab station around Kerban, hum is it "The Mun" or just "Mun?, Minimus, Ike, and Eve. Now I'm just struggling to get fuel to the Ike and Eve stations as quick as possible without burning all the dam fuel getting there. To get the fuel there quickly I didn't wait for alignment and now have an empty tanker in Eve orbit and another empty tanker on escape from Duna. My only aircraft is over the eastern sea crash landed. Now I have to get the Koys back first. Note to self buld tankers that do what they are supposed to and then (thanks departed C7) on to aircraft to explore Kerban and not beyond. A few Kerbal week or so and I should be done. Or not BOOOM. Poof! Still curious to hear title question from others. -
I am attempting to completing the tech tree in the shortest game time possible so I can try to beat that time in each up coming update. Currently I have about 5 tech nodes to go and am about 5 Kerbal years in for 0.23.5. As the title says I'm curious how long it takes the average Jeb in Kerbal time to compleat the tech tree? BTW had a quick look for a similar thread,so if there is one, point me prograde. Thanks

It's gota look (Kerbal) cool (seriously all previous posters how did you overlook the most critical factor for rocket goodness) and then hopefully do what it's designed to do.
-
Test? There is no test. Just do. Just explode. Just not quite make orbit. Just have way too much delta V. Just have fun. I just do that.

Oops double post my net went down.

I have a 7 month old son and a 6 month old Mecjeb install. For 6 months now I can play with 2 of my favorite things at the same time(he is not really a thing but you get my point)

Good one parameciumkid. A slight tinge of colour may look cool and may be useful like you suggest like indicating crew are on board or dead ship, engines are out of fuel.

Nice one. Makes sense. Might use it for this my self. Markers on the ports would be nicer though IMHO.

What's with the coloured lights in the ARM update SQUAD and with a NASA stamp of approval? A slider for the intensity of lights I could see a purpose for. Bad taste disco lighting what is the purpose? I can't stop thinking, they have made the coolest game on the planet look tacky. So KSP lovers/fans are the coloured lights in the ARM update a waste of Dev time better spent on other features , bug fixes etc or am I missing something? Also can't find anything about disco lighting here http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/asteroids/initiative/#.UzKn-Skay0c

See how many Kerbals you can safely get Eva on the Mun or Minimum in 15 minutes then try and beat it. I got 18 on my first attempt.

Reducing RCS power in EVA?
bonyetty replied to Kerba Fett's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Dosn't cap lock = fine control reduse the thrust or am I just imagining it? I'm on my phone so can't test it to be sure right now -
Amateurism, yet another silly example.
bonyetty replied to fastbikkel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
One thing I do since the last update is to place 3 or 4 Place-Anywhere 7 Linear RCS Ports on the base of all my comand pods (one and three Kerbal pods) and turn off the monopropellant on the comand pod when still in the VAB. It is always handy to have a bit of extra delta V stashed away to get the green guys home. There is my handy hint for when you send the green guys on their first Mun walk. Good luck it is such a buzz, that first successful Kerbal landing. It was one of the most satisfactory feelings I've gotten from a game. Felipe and SQUAD rock! -
$16au twice and well worth it. July 2012 I think.

I Thought the Kerbals Were My Friends
bonyetty replied to ThreeMartiniLaunch's topic in KSP1 Discussion
If he sneeks on to one of your rockets. Send a probe rocket on a bilistic intercept with a fuel tank for a nose cone. So SQUAD there is a super secret war in the Kerbal universe. Is this like "there will be no multiplayer" -
Odd... A Kerbin... No Helment.... Outside on Kerbin?
bonyetty replied to Nightstar's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Thanks Guys. Ok ok focus is on the flag. Still think that Kerbal is in Wonder woman's jet. -

bonyetty replied to Nightstar's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Why is their a HUD on screen on EVA. Someone is playing funny buggers I'm guessing. Or that Kerbal stole Wonder Woman's aeroplane! -
"Never give up never surrender" when I forget a seemingly critical part, or seemingly inadequate design or seemingly under fueled craft and RETURN WITH ALL CREW SAFE AND SOUND. Yipy!

Rosetta has 3 NASA instraments on it and it's gona land a probe on a comet in the next year or so. Will SQUAD and NASA also put comets into KSP. Surely SQUAD, NASA and ESA would benefit from associating with each other now when the hype of each is at its peak. I'm hoping KSP will release 1.0 in the next year or so, not in three years. NASA's asteroid mission is in 2017, three years away. This is in no way a criticism of the asteroid mission proposed as I think it sounds awesome. I would just like to see comets in KSP too and give those with the power to do so some motivation to do so.

Science Points for Returning Craft in Apollo-Style Missions
bonyetty replied to Xavven's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I think that science can be taken from science parts and placed into command pods. Click on a Kerbal when next to a science part or pod and you have the option to take science then get back into the pod, or another pod. You can then discard the science part/s and still return to kerban with all the science you have obtained on the flight. Correct me if I am wrong but this ability was added in 0.23. -
Name KSP's currency (or at least suggest it)!

If I can get 1700 ÃÂents on my next flight I can buy a LV-N Atomic Rocket Motor. Also as a bonus the LV-N Atomic Rocket Motor already comes with a few dents!
