What do you think about automated launches?
bonyetty replied to glen.mack's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Will be doing the same. As for an automated system I would like. An execute manover node button that only has one button and one function to execute the next node. Dividing by 2ish and staring at a green loading screen bar waiting to hit X gets a bit dull for myself. But now that I have been reminded of kOS and have a new interest in it, thanks to the slick video by glen.mack. My one button mod desire is probably not needed. -
No mod needed. A sepratron facing inward works as a good self destruct trigger by staging or action group.

Ha ha what's in a name. We don't know what will happen. We only have time warp, forward not backwards. And yes we have reverts but then things will workout wonderfully different in the new time line.
-
Congratulations to the both of you. Claw I have just installed your bug fixes. So I blame you for my messy house. Thank you so much. I didn't think it would be like this again till after 1.1 release.

Simple design consideration for wandering takeoffs
bonyetty replied to jhousen's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Wheel alignment I think may be the answer you are looking for. F key and angle snap on and use the rotate widget (3 key) in the SPH. This will allow landing gear to snap aligned relative to to the SPH in all three axis. Helped me with my runway wandering aircraft. -
2/1 X the height of a fairing is significantly different to 1/2 X height of a fairing when applying fairing lift.

A work around for now. Zoom in to unstack menus and switch to chase view to click on a moving menus button.
-
^ this will let you create, name and load as many saves as you want.
-
The tab on the right hand side of the map screen will show Kerbals on the craft of focus and there specially. When the map screen is focused on a celestial body(double click on them) it will give you information such as atmosphere height etc.

Please make desktop view available(easily accessible or home page link) for mobile users.

Possibly we should try Google Kerbin for this. Ha ha needed to be said nice work btw , I will have to have check it out myself.

Wobble. Where does it come from?
bonyetty replied to jros83's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
A fuel line from the top tank directly to the engine is a way of keeping the center of mass forward on a rocket thus reducing flipping. For long rockets run the fuel line through a cubic octag attached to a panel (no fuel flow part) somewhere on the stage between top tank and engine. Feels a bit cheaty for my personal career game play though. Edit. oh also place a panel between engine and bottom tank possibly for 1.0.5. -
On an iPhone here. Having trouble viewing in forum in web view. Moble drives me bonkers. Assistance would be appreciated

New-fangled buoyancy model -anyone know how it works?
bonyetty replied to little square dot's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Is it just me or did the water become really sticky? I just made my first 1.0.5 water landing using welded pontoons that used to glide nicely across the surface , but no matter how shallow my approach angle or slow my airspeed, as soon as they make contact with the water my pontoons grab on for dear life, taking me from 45 m/s to 0 almost instantly, within about 10m of my touchdown point. My plane somehow survives these violent "landings", but it's not so much water landing as water-crashing. Is there something I can add to/change in the .cfgs to make my pontoons less grabby and more glidey? Call me old-fashioned, but I tend to prefer non-violent deceleration.
It would have to be a highly engineered real life air craft to land on water at over 150kmph and not quickly decelerate in real life. I believe SQUAD wishes to have the game as close to real life while still being fun. A lower expectation of travel/landing speeds on and in KSP's water would be my recommendation. Seaplanes touchdown at about half the speed of what you described. Also to move an object floating requires moving the mass of the object and the water it displaces, which would be about the mass of the object again each time it travels its own length. -
Wow a piture and I can read all the text. And a cool work around. Possibly a job for you at SQUAD.
-
Nop changing to mob dosnt fix on these rare iPhones.
-
Just SQUAD being consistent in their distribution of bugs it seems. Time and money to do over but not to do right the first time. With spin doctors in charge what do we expect.

The Unofficial News About KSP Posted On Other Sites Thread!
bonyetty replied to Robotengineer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Anyone have a link to the release artical on this forum that dosnt have the right hand side cut off? -
Not able to read SQUAD update articals for a while now on this forum. Anyone have a link to a format that is fully readable?
-
Sweet it seems it is an 'aspect' of 1.05. Confimaybe Kerbals can't teleport transfer around the internals of craft.
-
While watching a stream of 1.05 is appeared that Kerbals were unable to transfer through a fuel tank from cockpit to crew tank. One more what the, moments in KSP gone. Nice one SQUAD if true. Can any one confirm?
-
Nice work TheMoonRover. You got me thinking, would it be possible to copy and past the magic Boulder in to 1.0.x from previous versions? If it is how would one go about it?
