  1. If there is one mod that should absolutely be stock, it's alarm Clock or at least a slimmed-down version of it.
  2. Look into ACES and XEUS. I‘m sure they could be ready by the end of the 20‘s.
  3. http://spacenews.com/nasa-foresees-human-lunar-landings-by-the-late-2020s/ i‘m hopeful but i‘m sure it will take a little bit longer.
  4. http://www.arianespace.com/press-release/independent-enquiry-commission-announces-conclusions-concerning-the-launcher-trajectory-deviation-during-flight-va241/
  5. Well all the Mars mission concepts for the last 15 years have an Orion at their core. For Crew launch, operations in Martian orbit (rendevouz with a Lander) and reentry.
  6. I don‘t think the number of launches is correct. The Lockheed Lander is flying to mars under its own power, to be refueled by a commercialy launched tanker. Also, since the Vehicle is reusable i guess the high number of Launches for assembly is bearable, even of they take quite some time. Atleast better than one of those NTR Mars mission concepts which require the same high number of Launches for every excursion.
  7. Why exactly? Do you know something we don‘t? Should i be scared?
  8. Well SpaceX has to prove they can do it first then.
  9. Of course BFR isn't hurting anybody and i too would be excited to see it fly. But should NASA cancel SLS and hope for BFR to fly? What if Musk would really change his mind and stop development.
  10. BFR will take time and, i'm sure, won't exist in its current form. And while the big New Glenn is impressive, it's gto capacity is only slightly bigger than Ariane 5's. A more realistic Commercial SLS replacement would be a dual launch Vulcan with ACES. Edit: a little correction, 3 stage new glenn seems to be comparable to a fully fueled ACES in low earth orbit.
  11. It seems that before Atlas 3, all Centaurs flew with two engines.
  12. I think it has actually never flown before. This new 2 engine centaur is called Centaur-5-DEC and the stage flown on Atlas 3 was called Centaur-3 DEC and it was shorter. So you definitely have a point.
  13. OMS is hypergolic so not a good choice for a Hydrolox upper stage. You also have to remember that EUS is flown with Europa clipper before EM-2 and the RL10 is already man-rated because it also has to carry the Starliner to orbit.
  14. Can we please leave this artificial feud between SpaceX and Nasa out of this thread?
  15. I think you brought this up already in the SpaceX thread. It has been discussed and there are a million reasons this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Don't have to start this all over in this thread.
  16. You mean like this?: http://www.orionsarm.com/eg-article/4845fbe091a18#shell To anyone who enjoys Isaac Arthurs videos, you may like this site too.
  17. Of all the crazy ideas for the BFR this is easily the silliest. Sorry but i doubt anyone is seriously thinking about that.
  18. I know you only maintain this mod, and i'm very thankful that you do, but have you ever considered changing the Model of the Big Telescope? It always seemed wrong to me that it is inspired by TESS given that it is (if i'm not misunderstanding) not really a space telescope and more like an occultation sensor?

  20. Makes sense. Too bad about WFIRST though.
  21. Maybe you will find more info in this thread. It seems that at least the Kerbal figures might come back.
