Benefit of Solid Rockets over Liquid
NeoMorph replied to Bunzmaster's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Fuelled boosters in asparagus format get more fuel into orbit than using SRBs I've found though. -
So We Divide By 11 For Earth to Kerbal Scale Eh?

Strange, it was working earlier... Fixed. -
So We Divide By 11 For Earth to Kerbal Scale Eh?
NeoMorph replied to NeoMorph's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I wonder how many years it would have taken Apollo to reach the moon if it had to deal with KSP lag. Apollo would probably be a generation ship heh. Actually, that said, while some people have complained of more lag in 20.x I've got a distinct improvement. So maybe, grandchildren. -
Soooo... this has 3 million parts... divide by 11... So when do we get to build our 272,727 part rockets? (hehe, just kidding).
-
Hmmmm so the wobble is excessive physics eh? This is a quote regarding Apollo 6.... and the excessive wobble it had... Just have a read through this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_6 - Apollo 6 was a right cluster fluff. Jeb must have designed and built it.

Defined surface by the looks of things. But man, does it take ages to get down. I was just dropping a probe and forgot the parachute too but it STILL took ages. Temps and pressures were mind boggling. Oh yeah, and aerobraking is FUN using Jool. Your heat shield burns for AGES!

hyperedit would be my guess... http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/hyperedit/ Someone going skateboarding on the Mun?
-
Use the gravity hack to balance your RCS above the launch pad. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/28983-How-To-Balance-RCS-On-Your-Payload?highlight=balance

Actually clouds of gas from Jool's atmosphere... Was the longest ever crash I have been in because the darn rocket kept slowing down and slowing down as the atmosphere got thicker and thicker. To be honest I would have thought the thing would have melted under the amount of temperature and pressure it was going through. Luckily for the Kerbals, it was an unmanned (or unkerballed) probe. First time I've been to Jool (been putting it off as I wanted to limit myself to one new planet per upgrade to keep it new.
-
Actually yes you can... you get crushed but your wreckage bobs about in the clouds... and yes, I only just found this out heh.
-
Squad has said repeatedly that they won't be including n-body physics so that means no Lagrange points.
-
... the game already HAS clouds! I should know, I crashed into them! I always knew that clouds were full of rocks.

Some of the graphs work fine on my PC but don't show on my iPad. Some like Altitude and Apoapsis/Periapsis work fine on both. G-Force for example says no antenna found on my iPad but works fine on the PC. Really confusing. Actually G-Force on my PC says "Signal Found" and starts drawing the graph vs time but the value at the bottom of the screen says "Unavailable". Sounds like a bug to me.

I'm loving playing with this plugin but there is one thing that continues to bug me. Why is the aerial like something from an 80's TV? lol. It would be nice to either have an extending one like on the Hermes probe or something a little more compact. I used the Fustek one but for some reason some of the graphs don't seem to like it. Dunno why that is. Also the orbital information tab works with the fustek one but not with the TV aerial. Is this by design or is it a bug?

I tend to plan for safety but occasionally I end up accidentally designing a KABOOOOMFEST. Like my heavy launch system... OMG was that a scewup. One of the mid sections would break and that meant that I lost all control to the lower stage which then went off course... So yeah... I just take it that "Kerbolic Explosions Happen To The Best Of Us"

Got to admit I have a ton of games for my Xbox... several I haven't finished because I keep coming back to working on stuff for KSP... This game really is addictive as hell.

You Will Not Go To Space Today - Post your fails here!
NeoMorph replied to Mastodon's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It says a lot when your launch clamps explode on the launch pad... BEFORE YOU EVEN LAUNCH THE DARN ROCKET.... This is what is happening to my extra heavy 5m modified Anvil launch lol Darn rocket is sooooooo heavy that the clamps can't hold it up. -
So I went overboard with the mods... and naturally my build is MEGA unstable. It's really great now that you can see what mods you have installed and see what is going wrong. If you want to remode just B9 mods you can do, by just moving the B9 folder and testing to see if it fixes it. Have to say THANK YOU SQUAD. This change has made life a lot easier for us mod junkies. I still find it hard to remove stuff though. LOL

Here is something to think about. Imagine your living room fire goes from nice and warm to EXTRA FLAMETHROWER HOT to freezing cold... randomly. Would you want to live there?

What future Mission Reports will hopefully not look like
NeoMorph replied to Astronomer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The Abort key fires off the escape option... if you remember to set up the control group correctly. The Self Destruct on the other hand should be to blow the rocket parts up to stop , let's say the huge tank of explosive fuel landing on top of KSC VAB and killing all the guys building the next rockets. Nasa have a guy who's only job it is to destroy the rocket if there is threat to life below. http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/space/nasa/4262479 Those astronuts (yeah, missed out the "a" on purpose) actually went up SITTING ON A BOMB let alone all that stuff in the fuel tanks. -
What future Mission Reports will hopefully not look like
NeoMorph replied to Astronomer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You know, I never realised how apt using the space bar to go into space actually is... Quite profound. Was is by design or just an accident do you wonder? I actually changed my staging button to "Break" which is pretty apt for my flights heh. To abort the mission I use the "END" button although "Backspace" is apt to (ie back out of space). Perhaps to make my Kerbonauts drink I should use the TAB button. Maybe the self destruct could use the "Delete" key (we really need a self destruct key). -
Love it... but my favourite image has to be this... Explosions just don't seem as... epic... now. Can't believe it has only be a couple of years though. For such a small team you have done wonders HarvesteR.

[0.22.X] BobCat ind. Historical spacecraft thread
NeoMorph replied to BobCat's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
OH.... MY... GOD... Bobcat, here is my first born child... can I have the Altair now... PLEASE! -
So I'm sure I saw a way of reloading a part after you made some changes but I can't seem to find it again. Anyone know how to do this?
-
Remember that it only runs on a single core so it doesn't matter if you have a dual core or an eight core... it's still only going to run on a single core. So confused why SQUAD chose Unity.
