What kinds of missions to you wish KSP supported?
NeoMorph replied to Moon Goddess's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Kerbal Attatchment System does hoses and I thought the Strut Gun and/or Quantum Struts can be turned on and off in space. -
I know this... This is "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" isn't it?

Didn't know we were employing giants...
NeoMorph replied to leopardenthusiast's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Actually those are the pilots from the early rockets where they didn't have as much radiation shielding. -
Check out my sig for some help... These guys have sorted some good info for you.

Heh... I have one better. I have a station in Duna orbit... Two of my Kebonauts are welded into a pod in the middle of a rotating hub and the hatches are covered with the girders. I think they were in the pod playing cards when the station was being made to be honest. Oh and just checked and they are on their 865th day in the can.

I use KW tanks the most and when I installed everything I could find for .20 I was shocked to find my favourite tanks missing. Then I realised it was KW Rocketry missing. This has to be my favourite pack out of all. It just has a "feel right" factor of 10/10. I love the fairings. If there is one thing wrong with the pack though it would be the Interstages. They inevitably have to be strutted to hell and back because they bend like bendy-bus. Oh and as someone else has said, the 3.75 one tends to stick and cause the engine to have zero thrust, even though it is firing right through the interstage. But if you use the Atlas, it seem to work OK. It just doesn't like some engines. Looking forward to the updates...

Oh god yes... I usually just drop a single solar panel on to power probes... unfortunately the one time I was approaching the station just as I dropped into shade. Didn't think anything of it but I had forgotten to put any batteries on... Power dropped and died... JUST AS I WAS GOING TO HIT THE RETROS. I knocked off a good third of my space station that time lol. Nipped it off when I hit the truss at about 12m/s. I managed to save the Kerbals by doing an EVA with the ones going into my old spacelab side of the station. I was about to disconnect that module in that mission too. Good job I didn't.

Seriously, this new ORION that Bobcat has made has the best balanced command and service module that I have ever flown in KSP. It makes docking a breeze and would be really good for new players who are having problems docking. It would give them a vehicle that is easy to fly and easy to dock for their first time. God, I'm sounding like a fanboy but this really is the dog's sphericals. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/0-20-x-american-pack-0-1/ Here is two I docked earlier (in my best Blue Peter voice).
-
Do you notice that there can be a really delicate manoeuvre you need to do and have to align it to the docking port and avoid several solar panels... and then just as you are coming in... LIGHTS OUT!.... Later on you come back into the light and there are lots and lots of little lights... coming from the bits and pieces of the solar panels you smushed. (yeah, smushed is more horrifying than smashed).

I've got a BIG Duna expedition that has a few problems with the return booster. Jeb is on the case though... Problem is that I've been trying to design a fix and various bugs have reared their ugly heads and caused a number of fails. Even had one ship lock the thrust on and it is now in a really eccentric and wild orbit around Kerbin going high above the ecliptic. The pilots of that are going to need help too. Lucky that Jeb wasn't on board that one.

Way to go, Liz! First skydiving with Bond at the olympics and now this... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-22736709

Help a guy out. Need some ideas
NeoMorph replied to F1refly's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Using the mod parts like KSPX, KW Rocketry, Novapunch, Bobcat etc really open up the horizon. Bobcat has just released an Orion that is pixel perfect in fact. So looking forward to trying to do the Altair/Orion missions when I get around to doing that. In the meantime I'm just working on making a SAFE space program for my Kerbals. I know it's against the rules (after all, if it doesn't go BOOOOOOOM it's not truly KERBAL!) but I really hate killing the little guys. -
Yeah... I haven't lost a ship in ages because I am paranoid now. I also hit F5 before I end a flight (ones I actually MEAN to end). I had one really weird thing happen the one time. I ended a flight and ALL the flights in progress ended. This was about 30 flights at the time... and F9 resurrected them perfectly thank god. F5 IS YOUR FRIEND!

high ISP rockets are unusable without acceleration warp.

According to the conspiracy theorists, Neil Armstrong used Hyperedit. -
No... I'm calling the NEW button in the VAB a design error because there is no confirmation. End Flight didn't always have a confirm either... that only was put in recently I think. 0.18? Any button that deletes work without a confirmation is a design error. I should know, I was a programmer/analayst for over 20 years. Actually I have hit the NEW button in the VAB completely by accident when the program freezes for a split second and then decides to click on something that you didn't actually click on. It most definitely is something that needs looking at. Edit 2: Oh yeah, I have a VERY good excuse for messing up though.... It's called being stoned out of my head on Morphine. And yes... this is true.

Awesome... Also when you think about it, KSP should be higher on that list because a bunch of players don't play KSP through STEAM (I don't... I think it just eats resources that could be used for more mods).
-
Lost huge space stations... A Mun base and a huge interplanetary train I built up out of about 12 launches... I was just tired and hit End Flight instead of Space Centre. Another naughty design error is the "New" in the VAB. I had a really nice payload I had put together and balanced the RCS and then I went and hit the NEW button instead of hitting the Subassembly button (I just wanted one of my prebuilt boosters) and "POOF!"... gone...

How Many Flights Do You Have Running At The Moment?
NeoMorph replied to NeoMorph's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm heavily into the Kethane mining. Can't wait until we get resources (although I'm not pushing the devs as I am quite happy with just Kethane atm). I can see that when we get resources I will be stuck to my computer and have to have a IV fitted so I don't have to eat or drink lol. I remember playing Eve Online to death for several years... mining, building ships and parts and researching but I realised I was getting TOO addicted and had to force myself to quit. I had FIVE active accounts at one stage. I did the beta for that too. Still have quite a few battleships hanging around in various hangers I think. -
ROFL... I have SOOOOO many parts that I didn't even notice it. Found it and made a sweet one man pod setup. Thanks for that. Sometimes the sheer number of mod parts out there makes you miss some of the stuff that is right in from of your face.

Aynone had their EVA character controls messed up?
NeoMorph replied to beeblebrox's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've occasionally had a "WHAT THE *BLLLEEEEP* DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING JEB?" while doing an EVA. I don't know what it is but the controls go bonkers. I tend to try changing the camera view to see if that helps but when it doesn't I go back to the Space Center (hit esc and then select Space Center) and then go to the tracking station and back to my Kerbal and everything seems to work right again. Doesn't happen all the time but when it does it reallllllllly gets frustrating. Intermittent bugs... hated them when I was a programmer. -
A Handful of N00bquestions
NeoMorph replied to Kardea's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I can thoroughly back the asparagus staging method. Everyone uses it as it is the most efficient. Check out my sig for some helpful tips from some other helpful guys rather than me repeating what has already been said. P.S. Welcome to KSP and these forums... the best thing since Apollo landed on the moon. -
How Many Flights Do You Have Running At The Moment?
NeoMorph replied to NeoMorph's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I can just imagine this... Munbase: "ARRRGGHHH... ENEMY ROVER SIGHTED USING UNKNOWN TECHNOLOGY.... HIT THE SELF DESTRUCT!" -
Or just leave it as a monument to the class of "OHFRAKIFORGOTSOMETHING". I have several of these dotted all over the Kerbal solar system. Some were missing solar panels. Some are missing fuel ports like you are experiencing. Others were mining pods but I forgot a part (like one big lander which I included drills, converter, fuel tanks etc... but no Kethane tank to store my mined Kethane - DOH! ). It's very Kerbal.
