Thanks you. I am glad I was able to convince at least one person. I hope more will see the light and follow. Yes please. Let's continue.

No we can not, not just yet. I will once and for all PROOF the "pick 'n flip 20" is false! The starting pile has 2 possible starting options; either 980 tails 20 heads or 980 heads 20 tails. (We do not know which.) Picking 20 coins can result in 21 different combinations ranging from 0 heads 20 tails to 20 heads 0 tails. This makes a total of 42 unique possible outcomes, below you'll find all 42. [/td][td] 20 tails 0 heads [/td][td] FAILURE [/td][/tr] [/table] As you can see only half of the possible outcomes result in an equal amount of heads in both piles as the riddle asks for. Picking 980 coins is just another way to say "pick 20 and choose the other pile". Flipping those 980 will do nothing more than flip the result but again only half will have equal amounts of heads. We can discus this till the cows come home but there is only ONE result: I am right and you are wrong! Now we can put this riddle to rest. (Unless of course you want me to post another table proving picking 980 is wrong too.)

Facility Upgrades in Career Mode
Tex_NL replied to gGATORr's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
As far as I remember this is correct. The basic suggesting by gGATORr has been suggested at least 2 or 3 times since the 0.22 release and the reply was this is, at least to a certain degree, on the planned feature list. -
What do you thinks is at the center of our galaxy?
Tex_NL replied to TechnicalK3rbal's topic in Science & Spaceflight
A super massive black hole. Why? Because that's the general scientific believe. Stellar observations show stars orbiting something invisible at incredible speeds so whatever they orbit must be generating some serious gravity. The only thing known to modern science that is both invisible and generate enough gravity to explain the fast stellar orbits is a super massive black hole. Edit: Got ninja'd with pretty much the same answer. -
First you'll need a way to capture the hydrogen. Secondly purify it and extract the deuterium. (Regular hydrogen isn't very useful in fusion, the isotope deuterium is.) And thirdly you'll need a fusion reactor. I see a lot of extra weight in this.
-
I don't know. All I know is that 'pick 'n flip 20' is not it.
-
This is EXACTLY where things get interesting, you don't know if the 980 are heads or tails. Please read back to the original riddle, it ONLY states 980 are one things and 20 are the other and demands an equal number of heads in each pile at the end. Therefore it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to get the same number of heads in each pile by picking 20 at random and get an equal amount heads in each pile. It works half the time but not every time! OK, lets see what we get: As I said in my scenario, the one you quoted: 980 heads and 20 tails in the original pile. I pick 20: 3 heads and 17 tails. I flip them: 3 tails and 17 heads. Result: Pile 1: 977 heads/3 tails Pile 2: 3 tails/17 heads FAILURE the riddle asked for equal heads in both piles. Again: I pick 20: 12 heads and 8 tails. I flip them: 12 tails and 8 heads. Result: Pile 1: 968 heads/2 tails Pile 2: 12 tails/8 heads FAILURE the riddle asked for equal heads in both piles. Really? Do I need to do it again? Or do you FINALLY see where the answer, pick 20 and flip them, is WRONG! Yes, it does work when you start with 980 tails and 20 heads but that is NOT in the original riddle.
-
OK. Now there are 980 heads and 20 tails in the original pile. No matter which 20 coins you take and flip there will never be the same number of heads in tn both piles. There will be the same number of tails in both piles but that's irrelevant. The riddles asked for heads.
-
True, but this is NOT the same as Specialists answer. He split the 1000 into a pile of 980 and a pile of 20, flipping the 20. Doing this will result into an equal number of coins in both piles with the same face as the 20 in the original pile. Since you never stated if the original 20 where heads or tails there is NO WAY to predict the outcome. The only thing you know for sure you'll end up with an equal number of either hears or tails. Edit: Strike the part where I 'True' as it is NOT! Your example only works with equal numbers in the original pile. Lets say we have 20 coins, by random 16 are heads, 4 are tails. I take 10: 9 heads and 1 tails. The original pile now consists of the remaining 7 heads and 3 tails. I flip the 10 I took: 9 tails and 1 heads. I don't know what universe you come from or what you've been smoking but 7 heads and 3 tails is NOT the same as 9 tails and 1 heads. Not even close.
-
Normally I'm not too bad at these puzzles but I still don't get the logic in this one. If you have 980 tail / 20 head you would indeed get equal numbers of head, as was required, in both piles doing it this way. But what if you have 980 head / 20 tail? Oops, now I have equal numbers of tail in both piles but the riddle asks for head. Since the original riddle did not state the position of the mixed coins but does ask for heads up in the split piles there is no definitive answer.

[1.1.3] Large Structural Components [24th August 2016]
Tex_NL replied to udk_lethal_d0se's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
He made an error copying the link to this thread. This link DOES work: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/64621786/udk_lethal_d0se.zip -
Then integrate them yourself. It's not hard to add 'TechRequired = start' to a part.cfg And if even that is too hard for you have Module Manager do it for you.

Truly evil practical joke: Replace Preparation H with Tiger Balm

Easiest solution: Unlock the entire tech tree. From that point onward career is almost the same as sandbox. I emphasize 'almost' because it is better than sandbox. Regular sandbox does not have science, a completed career does.

Why not simply ask Bac9? He uploaded those pics so it is safe to assume he knows what it is.

SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here
Tex_NL replied to tsunam1's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
That brings back some horrible memories, Lexx must be the worst sci-fi series I've ever seen. Though I must admit your recreation is very close. -
The size and/or weight of your station doesn't matter. Most important is you've figured out how to rendezvous and dock. After actually getting into orbit this is, for most people, the biggest milestone in the entire game. Well done! He edited his post and since he's a new user it had to be re-approved. Therefore it was invisible for a while.

Not exactly. Read back to what Yakky said: "Compute the atmospherics, at least in a basic way, for any object that has a command node ...", "... pop up a dialog that asks people whether it should be calculated or not". The way I read it he suggests to let drop debris de-orbit just the way it is currently doing but ask if the physics for craft should be calculated. I think you mean the romfarer.dll pugin.

Selective throttle control
Tex_NL replied to 700NitroXpress's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
There are already mods that do exactly this. Can't remember the name but I am certain somebody else does. -
Please start saying that to everyone who quotes pictures. It's almost always a series and it hogs up a whole page, and mods for some reason do not choose to say anything about it. It is fairly easy to have a custom plugin for the forum that changes IMG tags to URL when they are quoted, changing images into links. I've seen this feature on other vBulletin forums so it's just a matter of incorporating it.

Planet Ideas And Names For The Future Of Kerbal Space Program
Tex_NL replied to Dead Pixel's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This would require N-body physics and can therefore currently not be done in KSP. (NO, don't even think about making a N-body physics suggestion! Do a forum search for N-body physics or Lagrange points and you'll know why.) In real life this would theoretically be possible but highly unlikely. Both planets would rotate around their own axis and to stop them crashing into each other they'd have to be rotating pretty fast around the barycenter. The tidal forces would be insane and probably rip them both to shreds. -
Can they only 'go back' once or as often as they want? If they can only observe and go back as often as they want, who cares? Have some fun and deal with the philosophic stuff later.
